What Is TaxDome?
TaxDome is an AI-based practice management software for tax, bookkeeping, and accounting firms. It combines workflows, client records, communication, documents, billing, payments, and reporting into a single system. Clients can conveniently use the web portal or mobile application to sign forms, upload files, send messages, and pay invoices. By keeping everyday operations connected, TaxDome helps firms reduce repetitive administrative work, track team workloads and client activity, and ongoing projects.
What Is TaxDome Best For?
TaxDome stands out for its secure file sharing capability, which integrates document storage, e-signatures, and client access into a consolidated workflow. It is well-suited for accounting and tax firms managing sensitive client documents across teams. By centralizing activity records, file access, and client engagement, the software minimizes unorganized email exchanges and helps retain important documents.
How Much Does TaxDome Cost?

- Pro: $1000/year/seat
- Business: $1200/year/seat
Pricing plans are also available with two and three years commitment. Pro users pay $100 monthly/seat, while Business users pay $500/seat for a four-month, auto-renewing term. In addition to the base subscription costs, organizations should account for the following expenses:
- Data And Document Migration: Estimated at $500–$5,000

TaxDome Use Cases
Based on the platform’s features and user feedback, the following scenarios represent where the software fits tax, bookkeeping, and accounting practices most clearly:
1. Solo Tax Practitioners Automating Seasonal Client Intake
Solo practitioners managing recurring volume of tax returns need to reduce manual follow-ups without recruiting additional staff. Users mention easy set up processes that move clients from engagement signing and deposit collection to organizer completion with limited intervention. This is well-suited for users who want to simplify repetitive workflows before tax season begins.
2. Growing Accounting Firms Standardizing Staff Handoffs
Firms adding employees face challenges when client history, documents, and task updates remain unorganized across inboxes or spreadsheets. TaxDome fits teams that need work to rotate between employees without reducing relevance as responsibilities change. This is specifically significant for growing businesses managing higher client numbers while managing aligned workflows.
3. Tax Firms Replacing Fragmented Client Communication
Tax firms frequently exchange important documents, payment requests, signatures, and status updates with clients throughout an engagement. Users value having these interactions available through a single environment rather than handling dedicated email, storage, and payment tools. This benefits clients who need a steadier way to complete requests remotely, specifically during periods of heavy document collection.
4. Accounting Franchise Networks Standardizing Operations Across Locations
Accounting franchise networks working across regions need new offices to follow the same operating model without rebuilding processes locally. Headquarters can distribute common playbooks while tracking client activity, adoption, and performance across the system. This scenario helps franchisors prioritize consistent service, faster location onboarding, and visibility as the network grows.

“Simplified My Tax Workflow”
Pros
The variety of tools available is incredible. Using pipelines has helped us automate tons of administrative tasks which saves so much time. Our clients really appreciate how user-friendly everything is and the tagging system makes organization a simple process. Having all these fantastic features in one place is such a game-changer. Implementation was easy and the more we explore, the more we find ways to simplify our workflow even further.
Cons
The main thing I'm waiting for is better file management, right now I have to pick the destination folder for each client separately instead of being able to save multiple files to one folder. Though I have to say, they're really good at listening to feedback and their customer service team is always there when you need them.

“Excellent for business efficiency”
Pros
I've been using this for both my accounting work and the publishing company I co-own with my business partner. At DoxaNous Media, we found it really helps our authors and clients track progress as we move projects through the pipeline. We're definitely more productive now and can provide a much more personal touch with our service. This platform is way more great than other project management tools we've tried. The applications really are endless, I'd recommend it for any type of business.
Cons
The mobile app can't be white-labeled with our firm's branding which sometimes confuses clients when they see the TaxDome name. Most clients adapt well once they start using it though. Video file uploads aren't supported right now which is frustrating since we often need to share .mov, .mp4 and .avi files with clients. I understand there are security concerns but these common formats would really help our workflow if they were allowed.

“Amazing For Accounting Practice Management”
Pros
The whole system is refreshingly easy and the modern interface feels way more practical than other practice management tools like Canopy and Karbon. Getting started was surprisingly easy, there's a wealth of support articles and whenever I need help, customer service responds quickly. I rely on this daily for our operations and sales tracking. One feature I really appreciate is being able to see how other practices are handling things.
Cons
The file management could really use some drag and drop functionality, it would make things so much more simple to work with.
