What stands out about Wave is that many of its features are free. The paid options are reasonably priced and worth it. The dashboard is fantastic, easy to navigate and use. It offers comprehensive invoice and transaction management features, includes double-entry accounting, and even has payroll capabilities. Plus, there's live support and training available.

Cons

I wish I could customize the invoices more, but the options are somewhat limited. It's also strange that you have to pay to upload receipts I've never encountered that before.

Pros

From my experience using this program to invoice my consulting services, it's good for maintaining small business records, but not ideal for complex accounting tasks.

“Worst nightmare during the worst time”

The only positive aspect I can mention is that after three years and losing the company my cousins and I started, we finally received most of our money.

Let me share our experience with it. Before COVID, my two cousins and I decided to start a business together. Each of us had different degrees one in computer engineering, one in graphic design, and I had a business degree. I was also working as an influencer with a significant social media following at the time. We wanted to help small businesses with advertising, using my social media presence for word-of-mouth marketing, while my cousins designed websites and created custom logos and business cards for our clients. We started with friends to test things out, so we didn't have set prices for anyone. Since it was a side gig, we let people set their own prices. Fortunately, Wave wasn't the only company we used. I'll describe more about our experience in the next question.

I downloaded this app when I was looking for bookkeeping services. After a brief look, I wasn't impressed. I didn't give it enough time to set up and get started I ended up choosing another company that caught my attention.

A fantastic free platform, better and more cost-effective than Quickbooks.

Banking integration doesn't always function properly. I would like the ability to pause recurring invoices.

It covers all aspects of managing a small business's finances seamlessly. You can create invoices, send them via links, record payments, enter expenses, track income by customer, manage payroll, and automatically calculate your P&L. It's incredibly user-friendly suitable for anyone.

It can't connect to all banks worldwide; there's a specific list of supported banks and credit cards.

This accounting software is perfect for someone like me who isn't fond of accounting. I needed something simple to use. I like how I can track receipts, expenses, income, etc., and everything is intuitive.

Certified by CRA, it's free to use and comparable to QuickBooks. Ideal for solopreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses. Easily connects to all bank accounts, credit cards, or lines of credit within a single account. Supports multiple businesses, automates income and expense categorization, calculates GST on eligible purchases and sales accurately in reports.

Cons

Unless you opt for their paid subscription services, which many businesses don't need, you won't get any support via email, Messenger, or phone. You're left to rely on their knowledge base or online videos. If your issue isn't covered there, you're on your own to figure it out.

It includes everything essential for my small business.

Cons

Payables and receivables often don't balance due to rounding issues with percentages. For example, a bill paid in full can still result in discrepancies at month-end. I have to adjust for rounding every month. They should round or truncate the stored amounts to resolve this.

A more effective mileage tracking tool would be beneficial, but otherwise, it has everything I require for my small consulting business.

Pros

Sending invoices, tracking overdue payments, and monitoring monthly sales are all effortless with Wave.

Cons

Previously, when estimates were converted to invoices, they remained visible in the estimates section. This no longer seems to be an issue, eliminating the need to go back and delete them.

Pros

Wave is an uncomplicated accounting solution that enables us to create invoices, receive payments, generate and print reports, and manage accounts receivable seamlessly. We rely on it for all our accounting and bookkeeping needs due to its simplicity and superior product support compared to other software.
