Connecting data sources directly to the system of record to produce our data files in spreadsheets and then publishing them to the documents we use for reporting is fantastic.

Cons

Some of the flexibility needed for task assignments is a bit limited.

Sometimes, when I request support, they just point me to help articles instead of actually helping me directly.

I would love the platform to have more flexibility when it comes to connecting documents.

Workiva is hands down the best SEC solution I have used. I love the linking, cloud collaboration and ease of filing. Customer service is also fantastic!

Honestly I don't have anything I dislike. Workiva is great!

“Truly an amazing product

Pros

In my role as Director of Financial Reporting, I use Workiva daily for SEC reporting. I found the platform very intuitive even as a first time user. The features are similar to standard Microsoft office products, making implementation a breeze. My customer service representatives have been extremely responsive, both for XBRL and general support.

Cons

I have not found many downsides but as someone new to my role, I have noticed there are so many features and taskbars on the SEC platform when working in a document that I don't always know what they do. It can be a bit overwhelming.

“A great financial reporting tool from Workiva

Pros

Workiva is a pleasure to use because it's cloud based and designed for collaboration, data integration and audit logging. The user interface is friendly and easy and I mostly use it for its excellent reporting features and convenience.

Cons

So far I haven't found anything negative about Workiva.

“Incredible software with top-notch service and features

I've liked it ever since it was implemented especially for its ease of use and control panels for managing auditors and reports. There is minimal training needed to use it and I also love the ease of downloading report templates and the efficiency in generating reports while managing risks and controls.

Cons

It would be great if they added more audit templates. That's the one thing I'd like to see.

“Accessible from anywhere, supporting all finance teams

Pros

The interface design is very good, intuitive, innovative and easy to use. I also like how smoothly it connects and how useful the data collection function is.

Cons

The platform serves its purpose well and I haven't come across anything negative with it yet.

It is affordable and offers the best features for collaboration and creating/updating financial statements. I also appreciate its good interface, frequent updates and how accessible it is from anywhere. The service is excellent as well.

Cons

It could use some improvements especially in saving and editing documents and the folder functions could be better.

Pros

The most helpful features of Workiva for me are the ease of use within the testing experience, the ability to mark up files directly in the platform and the ability to create custom reports without needing to request support from the CSM or support team.

Cons

The least helpful aspects of Workiva for me are the lack of customization in other areas of the platform (like the requests module) and the inability to show evidence of control execution in the same way as the testing experience. I would also love it to integrate with other platforms like Blackline.
