Plenty of other software tools are built to connect with Xero which makes integrations really convenient and the tech support is amazing whenever something goes wrong.
Cons
It can be quite slow to load when working across multiple accounts and some reporting features I'd consider pretty basic still aren't available unless you do a lot of manual data manipulation.

Pros
The interface is very user friendly. The layout is user friendly so getting around the system doesn't take much effort and training time stays low. Since it's cloud-based, it's really useful to be able to sign in from anywhere and work with clients in real time. The automation is another big plus such as bank feeds, rules and automatic reconciliations cut down heavily on manual tasks. It also connects well with a wide range of add-ons like payroll, projects and reporting tools which makes the whole ecosystem feel well integrated. Real-time reporting is valuable too because having current financial data on hand makes decision-making and client advisory much more effective. On top of that multiple users such as accountants, bookkeepers and business owners can all work in the system at the same time without issues.
Cons
One area that could be stronger is reporting. The built-in reports are useful but they don't always offer the same level of depth or customization you'd get from a larger ERP platform. Payroll can also be somewhat complicated to set up and maintain especially in AU/NZ where compliance updates add another layer of difficulty. Another downside is performance with very large transaction volumes since the system can start to feel slower than desktop-based software in those cases.

Pros
Excellent value for the price and the customer support has been really amazing. Even the basic plan includes a very comprehensive set of features. Our organization doesn't actually need everything Xero offers but we have been very happy with the tools we do use. The bank download feature is honestly one of its best and most overlooked strengths.
Cons
The interface is a little complex in spots especially when it comes to the check writing and entry functions. I am hoping the upcoming dashboard updates will improve that experience.

“clear invoicing with discounts”
Pros
Creating a new invoice and sending it to existing customers is very easy and it handles discounted line items especially well since those discounts are shown clearly on the invoice.
Cons
One frustrating part is that VAT isn't added automatically. It's too easy to miss it on a single line item which then means fixing the mistake after the invoice has already been sent. There really should be a clearly visible global setting to turn on VAT for all UK invoices.

Xero has a very clear interface and is simple to use even for people without an accounting background especially when handling payroll, payables and receivables.
Cons
Moving data from one entity to another is not very convenient and even basic information often has to be entered manually.

Pros
Having everything in one platform is a big plus. We use Xero for payments, expenses and invoicing and it handles all of those really well. It's a fantastic tool overall and very simple to use.
Cons
There isn't much to complain about. The only things that come to mind are that approving expenses would be better with a select-all option and it would also be helpful to have reporting for pay and expenses.

Pros
Handling invoices and keeping up with payments is much simpler with Xero and being able to manage our finances from anywhere is really convenient.
Cons
The support team is helpful but responses can be slower than expected at times and the inventory tools feel a little overwhelming when you're just getting started.

Getting started with Xero was affordable and that low entry cost made it a really good fit for a start-up and for someone using this kind of platform for the first time. The onboarding process gave me the chance to properly assess whether the system was delivering the accounting support my business actually needed which was incredibly helpful. It takes a while to understand if an accounting provider is truly covering all the essentials and the setup experience helped confirm that for me. After connecting my bank integrations for transaction tracking, managing the company accounts became much more simple. I have been able to send and monitor customer invoices without hassle and it has also made it much easier to keep everything ready for VAT submissions and other government reporting requirements tied to financial statement preparation.
Cons
It delivers strong integrations and offers a lot of value when it comes to reviewing past accounting activity. That said, I can see a clear opportunity for the platform to add forecasting features and predictive planning tools that would help business owners prepare for upcoming quarters and future years. With the historical data already stored in the system, it feels like this could eventually be used for benchmarking or deeper forward-looking analysis. Right now, I still have to do that kind of planning outside the platform but I definitely think there's room within the service for this part of managing a business.

its very easy to use which is especially helpful for anyone still learning the system. It works very efficiently for reconciling finances and handling invoices.
Cons

From sending quotes and invoices to bank reconciliation, expense tracking, budgeting, reporting, VAT returns and payroll, the software keeps daily accounting organized and easy to use. It also seems like a great value for the money for our business and the support team has been consistently excellent whenever we have needed help.
Cons
A few important features still seem to be missing, such as notifications when another user submits something for approval. The iOS app also feels fairly limited compared with the main platform.
