Great data visuals

Pros

Navigating data in Datawrapper is very easy and the way it turns complex information into visual formats is what I appreciate most. It supports importing data in several ways, whether from Excel, CSV or other file types which makes it really convenient. The platform accepts a wide variety of data sources and I genuinely enjoy using it for my projects. It's also helpful that it can bring together data from multiple sources.

Cons

I am less satisfied with the dashboard since its features seem somewhat limited and I think it could be made more appealing.

Love the clean charts

Pros

Creating charts and maps with Datawrapper is very easy and it turns my data into something much clearer and easier to read. It is a really useful tool for sharing information in a way that lets people explore and assess the data themselves. The overall concept is quite unique and that's something I really enjoy about using it.

Cons

One thing I am less excited about is that the visuals are not especially attractive. It also is limiting when I upload larger datasets because the results don't always match what I expect. On top of that the interface could use a more creative and modern design.

insightful articles but needs personalization

Pros

One thing I really enjoy about this tool is its articles and blog content. Since I am someone who likes digging into data, I regularly come across new ideas and perspectives in the way they break down trends and insights from different industries and news topics.

Cons

The range of topics is interesting but the articles would be more useful if they were better tailored to what each user actually cares about. Also a more personalized feed based on interests or even current events would make the experience much more engaging.

Makes interactive charts simple

Pros

Creating interactive, visually appealing charts and maps with Datawrapper is very easy. It's built for people who don't have coding experience, offers a great range of customization options and makes sharing or embedding visualizations online really simple.

Cons

One and only downside I can point to is that customization is somewhat limited especially on the free plan and that's about it.

clean charts with lots of variety

Pros

Uploading data and turning it into modern, eye catching visuals is very easy with Datawrapper. It does a really nice job of creating professional looking representations without much effort and the wide selection of chart types like bar, line, pie and others makes it flexible enough for all kinds of data storytelling.

Cons

It isn't free software and there is no free trial available either.

excellent for data organization

Pros

Keeping the related fields, methods and variables together in a single class makes data wrapping much more useful and organized.

Cons

Nothing major but I noticed that users have to specify the input format for the data being wrapped and every method or variable name has to be typed out completely.

Clear charts for reporting

Pros

Datawrapper has been really helpful for creating clear, simple visuals for reports and presentations. Its variety of chart templates makes it simple to analyze data and share it in a way that's easy for a wider audience to understand.

Cons

Things get frustrating when I need to build charts with very specific requirements or elements that have to be arranged in a particular order. It also lacks tools for more advanced data manipulation which can be limiting when a dataset needs deeper analysis.

Really versatile charts and maps

Pros

It really stands out for its wide range of advanced chart types that are hard to build in other tools. It lets you create distinctive charts, maps and searchable tables and you can export those visuals as images or PDFs when needed. Another helpful part is that unpublished work is automatically stored in an archive so there's less risk of losing anything. After uploading data, you can still refine it by choosing which rows and columns to keep and even adjusting the data type if necessary. The river section is also a nice addition since it gives users a place to share data, charts and maps making it possible to reuse visuals that were already created. On top of that share buttons can be added and charts can be duplicated easily if you want to make small edits to an earlier version.

Cons

The biggest downside is that it does not handle large datasets very well which can cause delays while building visuals. It also lacks connectivity with data warehouses which limits how well it fits into more advanced data workflows. Another drawback is that it does not support joining multiple tables or creating relationships between them.

beautiful interactive charts and maps

Pros

Putting together charts and web maps in Datawrapper is fast and easy which has been really useful for my roller coaster market studies. I can paste data directly from Excel including CSV files and even drop in a URL for live graphics. The visual output looks very good and everything displays nicely on both mobile and desktop devices. It also automatically adapts colors and text sizing so the graphics look good across screens. I also appreciate being able to preview the chart before exporting it. The maps can be made interactive too which makes the experience better for users. I am able to set them up so people can explore with bars and lines and dig into each detail more deeply.

Cons

Color adjustment can be a bit annoying in this app when the slider does not provide the level of precision you need for fine control.

Truly useful charts and maps

Pros

Features such as maps, custom layouts and live chart updates make the platform more user friendly and comfortable to work with.

Cons

It's a great app overall but it would be even better if it included more features like a built-in list of native data connectors and the ability to share dashboards.
