Easy cohorts & affordable replays

Pros

Creating cohorts is easy and session replay is available without the high cost I often see elsewhere.

Cons

The masking labels in session replays make it tougher to dig deeper into how users actually behave.

Clean session replay insights

Pros

PostHog gave me the analytics I needed to understand how users actually interact with my product. The session replay feature has been especially valuable for reviewing user journeys on my platform especially during the early launch ofSmushLabs.ai.Also it's clean, easy to use and simple to work with. Even without being very technical in marketing tools, getting started felt very manageable. Installing the script through Node was easy too and the analytics started working well quickly. Session replays were a real highlight. I also appreciate the visibility it gives me and the fact that I keep ownership of my data. Those replays have helped me spot potential bugs and errors and given me a clearer picture of how visitors move through my landing page. The initial setup was incredibly simple like honestly one of the best onboarding experiences I have had.

Cons

My only concern is that, while I am technical enough to work through it, I can see it feeling a bit complex for some other founders.

packed with high-quality features

Pros

Between product analytics and session replays, this is one of the tools I check pretty much every day. It packs in a lot of high-quality features for a website or SaaS product, yet the implementation is still fairly understandable. Even with how much it offers, the platform does a good job of guiding me through setup and usage. I am also a big fan of the app's design as it looks polished and honestly feels like something built with a lot of care. Getting it connected to both my website and web app has been quite easy too and their documentation site not only looks excellent but is genuinely helpful too.

Cons

I don't really have any major complaints. The only thing worth noting is that you probably need a basic level of technical comfort to usethis platformconfidently because it can feel a little overwhelming at first otherwise. Still, that seems very much in line with the audiencethe productis meant for.

Powerful all-in-one platform for analytics

Pros

Having analytics, session replay and feature flag management in a single product is a big plus with PostHog especially since it doesn't push me toward stitching together multiple separate tools. The pricing feels fair for what I get and the overall value is strong, so it comes across as a platform I can keep using as I grow without feeling like costs will spiral out of control. The feature flag and toggle management has been the standout part for me. It's flexible enough for practical, real-world scenarios, including targeting users and handling conditional rollouts and it has worked reliably for me. The API is another strong point, since being able to control flags programmatically and pull data when needed has been genuinely useful. Altogether, it delivers a lot of functionality, integrates without much trouble and once everything is in place, it's pretty easy to use on a daily basis.

Cons

Getting started was probably the hardest part. The first time I opened the UI, there were so many features visible at once that it felt a bit overwhelming. It took some time to understand where everything lived, identify the parts I actually needed and learn how to use them properly. That friction does fade once you spend more time withthe product and after getting familiar with it, navigation and day-to-day use become much more comfortable. Still, that initial experience can feel like a lot to take in at once. Stronger onboarding, a more guided setup flow or clearer ways to discover key features would make it much easier for new users to get up to speed quickly.

Quick & simple analytics

Pros

It has been a really great tool for me because it's simple to use and gives quick access to the information I need. It feels very fast and the analytics are much more powerful than the platform I was using before. Getting started was also easy since the initial setup only took about a day.

Cons

Some of the filters can still be confusing to figure out. At times they're just a bit hard to understand.

amazing support

Pros

it feels very approachable to use which is a big advantage for someone like me who doesn't come from a marketing background. The free plan is also a huge benefit since I can get started without dealing with the whole corporate expense approval process. On top of that the support team has been amazing too which makes the overall experience even better.

Cons

At times the interface feels a little off to me. I'd also prefer a clearer UI and a more simple way to handle selective feature flags.

Useful mobile funnel replays

Pros

Running PostHog with my React Native mobile app has been really useful for checking funnels and understanding the user journey. It lets me see where users are dropping off on specific screens and the session replay feature is a nice addition for the app. Getting everything set up in the beginning also went smoothly.

Cons

It still doesn't show the exact start and end of session replay for a specific screen. Having that available for React Native would makethe productmuch more helpful.

Complete developer minded control

Pros

It has become part of my daily workflow for both web and mobile analytics. It gives me complete control over event tracking, funnels and feature flags without needing to juggle several different tools. The flexibility to define custom events, run product experiments and connect everything directly to my data stack is especially valuable. Compared with platforms like Mixpanel or Amplitude, it feels much more built with developers in mind.

Cons

Getting started does take some effort. Sincethis platformis highly flexible and fairly technical, it takes time to properly set up events, funnels and dashboards the right way. That said, once everything is in place, it ends up being far more powerful than simpler analytics platforms.

True all one solution

Pros

Having this as a single platform with so many products has been a big plus especially since everything works together and I don't have to juggle 20 different tools or spend time stitching them together. It really feels like a true all in one solution. The dynamic dashboard is also top notch and the data handling and pipeline are very strong which leaves plenty of room for custom workflows. They also release new features quickly and getting started was very easy, even if it takes a bit more time to fully integrate every feature and organize the setup in the most logical way.

Cons

The fast release pace is nice but at times it gives the impression that some products are only partially finished. After they reach GA, development can seem to slow down, almost as if maintaining everything becomes too much. I'd also like to see the custom dashboard become more dynamic and more usable publicly, including basics like date range support.

easy feature flags

Pros

this tool has been a really nice way to handle feature flags. I can iterate quickly and test different implementation paths by turning flags on or off or adjusting the user groups that receive them. It takes a lot of stress out of the process and gives me one less thing to think about. The initial setup was also very easy.

Cons

At times updated values can take a few minutes to come through although I am not completely sure whether that's caused bythe platformitself or by the way we're using it internally.

Very smooth integration

Pros

It has been a great addition to my workflow. The integration feels seamless, the free tier is incredibly generous and the interface is well designed too. Session recordings and the deeper analytics go beyond just showing numbers as they lead to insights I can actually act on. I run a web design business and also teach Framer, so I end up recommending it to all of my students as well. And honestly their creative branding is a fun bonus that makes the product even more memorable.

Cons

Getting started does come with a bit of a learning curve which is pretty normal for analytics platforms but even then, this onestill seems easy to navigate than many of the other tools out there.

Easy setup

Pros

Getting started with PostHog was very easy and that simplicity has been one of the best parts of using it. The team behind the project has also been excellent which adds a lot to the overall experience. I also really appreciate that it's open source and the generous free tier makes it an even better option.

Cons

Nothing to mention here.

Works slow at times

Pros

Being open source is a big plus and it packs a lot of power. It feels pretty similar to other analytics platforms I have used, like Mixpanel but at a lower cost and I also have the flexibility to self-host it later if I decide to. I also liked the dashboard feature since it was quick for me to understand how to build them. Overall, getting everything set up was fairly easy.

Cons

At times the website would hang or load more slowly than expected. I also ran into a bug a couple of times where pages took a long time to open. On top of that I couldn't really figure out how to pin dashboards or tabs so I could jump between different dashboards more quickly.

confusing UX!

Pros

PostHog has been really strong for observability from what I have seen even if I feel like I am probably not using it to its full potential yet. I have relied a lot on the session replay feature and having that available inside my M365 add-ins would be a huge plus. Getting started was fairly simple and it's also pretty impressive that PostHog can work through my codebase in a way that feels similar to Claude code.

Cons

That said, the productisn't very user friendly and moving around in it can be difficult. I still don't have a clear sense of how to configure many things natively, so a lot of it ends up feeling confusing. The UX is pretty rough overall as we want to understand how to set things up, monitor what matters and really use the app effectively but doing that takes more effort than it should.

Generous free customizable tier

Pros

It won me over with its generous free tier and how customizable it is. I was able to test it out without any commitment, then decide later whether paying for it or self-hosting made more sense once I saw the value. Having feature flags and experimentation included is also a big plus. On top of that getting started with the initial setup was very easy.

Cons

Using it in a mobile browser feels awkward at times because a lot of the buttons overlap and when I try to scroll, I sometimes end up tapping something by mistake. The UI can also be a bit slow when running queries, both on web and mobile.

Polished, pay-as-you-go platform

Pros

One of the best parts is the pay-as-you-go pricing, plus the free tier gives me very generous usage limits. The interface feels really polished and there are tons of features available. At the same time, I don't need to use every single one of them to still get real value out of PostHog.

Cons

The biggest drawback, in my opinion, is thatthe productcovers such a broad range of analytics tools that it can make you question how one platform can stay strong while being spread across so much. It would probably help ifthe platformcommunicated its intended use cases more clearly. For instance, combining web analytics similar to GA with feature flags like LaunchDarkly blends analytics and software development in a way that could be confusing for some users, even though I personally think that combination is a good thing.

Spot browser errors fast

Pros

PostHog has been really valuable for monitoring activity in my application and keeping track of user preferences. It's especially helpful when users run into browser errors, since it lets me spot the issue quickly and fix it fast. From a developer's perspective, being able to review errors alongside screen recordings makes troubleshooting much more practical. The initial setup was easy and hassle-free. I'd absolutely rate it 10 out of 10.

Cons

It's already quite good overall but adding a better search narrative for the route page would help, since that part wasn't working properly.

clean UI

Pros

Once I get into it, the UI looks clear and easy to use. Plus it makes integrating app notifications with Slack very simple and adding feature flags is just as easy. The Slack bot transformation pipelines are also very good and uncomplicated to work with.

Cons

At the beginning, the interface can feel pretty intimidating. It would help a lot to have some simpler onboarding or quicker ways to get started.

Polished UI easy SDK

Pros

The website looks polished, with a top-notch UI and UX that makes everything simple to navigate. Adding the Session Replay feature through the iOS SDK was also quite easy. Another thing I appreciate is how many features PostHog includes and how in-depth they are. I have only used Session Replay so far and it has been working really well.

Cons

One part that wasn't very easy was setting up Session Replay masking for labels on iOS 26. I know the iOS SDK already notes some buggy behavior due to technical changes in SwiftUI, so that seems to be the cause. Other than that, this has been the only issue I have run into withthis software.
