“Integrate teams into one workflow”
Pros
The integration process is very easy and everyone on the team can be involved regardless of their technical skill level.
Cons
I am happy with everything. After moving over from Po...B., it has been nothing but benefits.

“Visuals that refuse to be ignored”
Pros
I have been using Tableau for a little over three months and the way it presents data is what has impressed me the most. It's very visual and really helps when it comes to analyzing information. Our team is still learning the platform but overall it has been a very positive experience.
Cons
One downside is that it doesn't offer a trial version and I believe that's its biggest negative point.

“Analytics wrapped in visual excellence”
Pros
Tableau is a well known visual analytics platform that turns data into clear graphical presentations. It handles real-time analysis very effectively through visual dashboards and charts.
Cons
The higher cost can be a bit of a challenge for some organizations. There is also room for improvement in the security features and the version update process.

Creating dashboards is very easy and it does a really good job handling large volumes of data.

The interface could be much better designed especially since it takes too many clicks to get to the functions I use most often.

“Collaborate through dynamic dashboards”
Pros
A simple, dynamic interface makes Tableau pleasant to work with. Connecting it with Tableau Prep Builder adds even more flexibility for data visualization. The drag-and-drop approach is a big plus, whether someone has a strong analytics background or not and sharing reports and collaborating with others is easy too.
Cons
Working with certain database data in our projects does require some basic coding knowledge. It can also slow down when handling large volumes of data and at times the application crashes.

“Chart variety that covers all bases”
Pros
One thing that really adds value is how much Tableau can connect to. It gives access to nearly all databases which makes working with different data sources a lot more convenient. There's also a wide range of chart options available, including Sankey, doughnut and map charts so it covers more than just the basics. On top of that it supports data extraction and combining which is very useful when pulling information together from multiple places. Another big plus is that dashboards display well across different devices like laptops, tablets and smartphones. Filtering or drilling down into a dashboard also happens incredibly fast which makes analysis feel much more efficient.
Cons
One thing that still bothers me is the absence of a built-in spell check and I really think that should have been added by 2022. I am also not a fan of needing to dig through IT user forums just to find answers to platform-specific issues. A lot of the errors are so broad and unclear that it becomes difficult to figure out what actually needs to be fixed.

“Responsive views for dedicated analysts”
Pros
Tableau has been really useful for data analysis work. Creating graphical and tabular visualizations in it is quite simple and the dashboards respond quickly. It also makes datasets much easier to understand at a glance.
Cons
At the beginning, the interface can be a little difficult to figure out. There are also times when geographic data is not detected correctly.

“Track KPIs with complete confidence”
Pros
Managing a team of customer engagement reps gets a lot more manageable with this. Everyone is measured on a range of different metrics and it lets me work with the data in a way that helps me review historical trends and keep a close eye on KPIs.
Cons
At times the software lags a bit if I move too fast and switch back and forth between data views too quickly.

“An essential tool for visual data”
Pros
The software is very easy to use. Plus it really helps me with data visualization and with generating reports.
Cons
One thing I'd appreciate is a free trial option. If the trial period were extended and included a few more features, it would be much more useful for students.

“All reporting centralized in one place”
Pros
Having all reporting and data brought together in one application has been the biggest advantage for me. It's one of the best tools for managing reports and keeping everything under a single roof.
Cons
The initial setup can be challenging and definitely isn't very easy. You usually need someone technical to get it configured properly but once that part is done, working with it becomes very simple.

“Visuals and dashboards working together”
Pros
Tableau has been really valuable for building visualizations and dashboards. For the price, it stands out as one of the better data visualization tools available.
Cons
Getting fully comfortable with it takes quite a while because there's a lot the software can do. The setup isn't very user friendly and the level of detail can get so granular that taking a course feels almost necessary to really understand it all.

“Team insights delivered through graphics”
Pros
Being able to bring different sets of data into a single visualization is really valuable. It helps teams understand what's going on much faster when they can actually see the data instead of just reading through it.
Cons
One issue is that the visualizations can sometimes get thrown off. There are times when the data is displayed incorrectly and it can take us a while before we notice something is wrong.

“Dashboards designed for visual impact”
Pros
Tableau is a very versatile tool that's simple to use and lets you build professional looking reports and visual dashboards. It's a powerful data visualization solution, easy to install and it doesn't require much maintenance.
Cons
One limitation is that backups cannot be automated within the software so they have to be done through the operating system.

“SQL flexibility with enterprise BI”
Pros
Compared with other BI platforms, Tableau has been the easiest one to work with for me. It includes features that make data transformation very powerful and I also like that it can work with SQL. I used it for years while working as a data analyst and overall it was a very positive experience using it.
Cons
One area I am not enthusiastic about is working with very large datasets since performance can start to lag. It tends to work better when it's connected to a database that can store and aggregate the data properly for reporting. I also wasn't happy with how difficult and at times nearly impossible, it can be to configure global filters. On top of that setting up parameters for date fields doesn't feel very easy.

“Rich visuals in every dashboard”
Pros
Tableau stands out for its remarkable visualization capabilities. Building dashboards is also easy because the interface is user friendly and connecting to multiple data sources is very convenient. Performance is also impressive, even when working with larger datasets and the active community and forums are a big help when questions come up or you want to learn new ways to use the tool.
Cons
On the downside the after sales support has been disappointing. The cost is also quite high and the pricing structure does not feel very flexible. On top of that getting the best use out of it often requires IT assistance which can make adoption a bit more challenging.

“Mobile-friendly views that always deliver”
Pros
After Tableau is configured working with it is very easy. Plus it offers different tabs you can click through to find exactly the data you need. It's also mobile-friendly so you can access it and take it with you wherever you go.
Cons
One downside is that the information has to be entered manually each time you use it. There isn't an automatic update feature available.

“Perfect for recurring reporting cycles”
Pros
We mainly rely on it for building a daily report. After the initial setup is done, updating the date fields is easy enough to generate that same report each day without much trouble.
Cons
Where it becomes frustrating is when an existing report needs something new added. It runs very slowly and every extra join can take several minutes to load. Creating brand-new reports also takes a long time. On top of that I'd really like a simpler way to view the SQL being executed. Right now, the only option is digging through log files which is annoying and makes the queries hard to track down in a text editor.

“Visual insights embedded in dashboards”
Pros
One thing that really worked well for me with this software was how clearly it turned my data into visuals which helped me understand geography, sales, age ranges across different groups and a lot more. It also handles very large amounts of data quickly so calculating and analyzing everything feels fast and efficient. On top of that the dashboards are flexible and the mobile support is a very useful addition.
Cons
There is definitely a learning curve because you need to get familiar with the apps to avoid feeling lost while using them. The area that seems to need the most improvement is the automatic updating of data and reports through notifications. Another limitation is that visual imports cannot be customized the way they can in some other tools. It is also quite expensive which makes it difficult to add a larger number of users.
