Getting started with this software doesn't take long and learning it adds a really useful skill that opens the door to a lot of job opportunities. It's a very practical and in-demand tool in both data analysis and business analytics.

A few of the data connection features don't work as well as they should especially things like regex connectors between different data sources.

“An effective and high-performing tool”
Pros
Straight to the point, this is a simple and effective solution. Honestly there's nothing bad to say about the product itself.
Cons
Customer support is basically nonexistent, just copy-paste responses from people who keep saying yes to everything. On top of that invoices renew automatically and there's no real way to stop it. It's outrageous and I would never buy this product again.

“Strong mapping and analysis”
Pros
Working with large and varied data sets becomes much more manageable with Tableau since it's such a capable data analysis tool. At my company, the map visualization features have been especially useful and stand out the most.
Cons
It does take some time to learn all of the features and feel fully comfortable with the platform. For anyone just getting started, it's definitely worth using extra resources like YouTube tutorials or getting help from someone who already knows it.

“Good dashboards with nice visuals”
Pros
Using Tableau is not a hassle and it's excellent for building data visualizations inside dashboards. Exporting is also pretty easy so it's an easy product to recommend.
Cons
It isn't exactly inexpensive although it's still priced fairly compared with competitors. Logging in with company credentials can also be difficult for some users.

“Dashboards that help you decide”
Pros
Building dashboards with Tableau has become the part of my week I enjoy the most. It's very manageable to work with. I pull data from SQL and other large databases and within minutes I can bring that data into my system for analysis. The connectors are simple to set up and overall it's a very useful tool for making decisions.
Cons
I really don't have any complaints about the application itself. The only thing worth considering is the pricing.

“Good visuals for research work”
Pros
One thing that really stands out with this product is how much it lets you do. The range of tables, graphs and reports you can build is impressive and the charts come out looking very professional. It's a highly capable software overall and it feels especially useful for students or anyone in an academic program doing their own research and needing reliable data visualization tools.
Cons

“Interesting visuals from complex data”
Pros
It turns raw data into visuals that almost anyone can follow. It helps transform information-heavy ideas into something far more interesting and attention-grabbing for the audience.
Cons
The tradeoff is that the learning curve is pretty steep. It's an incredibly powerful tool but getting the data displayed exactly the way you picture it can be quite complex.

“Good charts for digging into data”
Pros
Creating charts was easily the most compelling part of using this software. It ended up being the feature I relied on the most and it gave me a much clearer picture of how my business was doing. That capability alone is enough for me to recommend this software to data analysts.
Cons
Whenever something went wrong, the error messages were too vague so there were times I had no idea what action to take. I often had to go back and review my work several times before I could finally figure out what the actual issue was.
