“Endless visuals with a strong community”
Pros
Tableau gives you almost endless possibilities when it comes to building visuals. There's also a huge user community to turn to when you need help and it's a widely recognized product.
Cons
Some of the more advanced calculations can be challenging especially if you're not already familiar with the tool.

“Strong interface with a helpful community”
Pros
The interface is user friendly and interactive which makes working with the software much more enjoyable. Another big advantage is the huge user community so it's easy to find help, ideas and support whenever needed.
Cons
The biggest downside is the price since it's more expensive than other options such as Power BI.

“Lots of features with data integration”
Pros
Compared with other tools in this space, Tableau offers a wider range of features and that really stands out. Bringing data into the platform is very easy too which makes the whole process much more convenient.
Cons
One thing I am not a fan of is that it offers fewer capabilities when it comes to coding especially if you prefer working with Python.

“Clean visuals with strong insights”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is how professional the visualizations look. It helps a lot with problem-solving because you can step back and see the bigger picture more clearly. I took a workshop to learn how to use it and I am still building my skills and putting them into practice. There's honestly a lot you can do with Tableau and it feels like a major step up from Excel.
Cons
Nothing really comes to mind. Once you learn how it works, it's excellent.

“Dashboards that connect to your data”
Pros
Tableau has been one of the most useful tools for pulling data from almost any source, whether it's an SQL database, Google Analytics or others. On top of that it gives us access to a wide range of interactive visualizations which makes customizing dashboards much more flexible.
Cons
The platform's support is basically useless. I ended up relying on YouTube tutorials to figure out and fix the issues I ran into.

“Flexible reporting with strong dashboards”
Pros
The drag and drop functionality is really convenient and setting up data sources, joins and connections is one of the most appealing parts of the tool. It does a very good job of turning complex queries into something much simpler to present and understand. On top of that you can build as many reports and dashboards as needed and organize them into categories without much trouble.
Cons
Certain calculations, advanced formulas and functions can be difficult to set up and are not always easy to understand. There are also times when reports take hours to load which can be frustrating. Another downside is that when the tool is hosted in the cloud, it becomes unavailable during an internet outage.

“Useful insights from your data”
Pros
Turning data into visuals with Tableau is fantastic and it helps break down numbers in ways that are more accessible than you might expect. It's incredibly useful for analyzing data, crunching numbers and uncovering opportunities to improve performance within the industry.

“Always improving with strong analytics”
Pros
One of the best parts of Tableau is how often new features and updates are added which really helps it stay current in the market. A lot of my work that used to be spread across several spreadsheets has now turned into a one-click analysis process. Working in spreadsheets was time-consuming and tedious but Tableau has made the whole process much more efficient and actually enjoyable.
Cons
A challenge I have run into is how difficult it can be to adapt the software across the organization. I am not able to easily share data analysis with stakeholders who don't use it and that creates limitations. Better integration with other tools feels like the right path forward so everyone in the organization can benefit from its capabilities.

“Great visuals with strong results”
Pros
Working with teams from other organizations who use Tableau, I have seen them create some truly impressive visuals. We recently got a free sample ourselves and have been testing it out and honestly we haven't come across anything else that compares.
Cons
The biggest downside is the cost. Since we're part of a school system, getting approval for a purchase like this will be difficult.

“Easy charts with flexible imports”
Pros
Right from the start Tableau is user friendly thanks to its simple interface. It supports importing data from many different file formats which makes working with various sources much more convenient. There's also a wide selection of graphs and charts available and the automatic detection of suitable filters is a really helpful touch.
Cons
One frustrating part is that the desktop version can crash while you're in the middle of working and when that happens, it doesn't always auto-save your progress. On top of that getting fully comfortable with it takes some training so there's definitely a learning curve if you want to master it.

“Customize maps the way you want”
Pros
One of the best parts of this software is being able to add multiple data layers to maps and customize them to match exactly what you want.
Cons
Map layers are not always very user friendly at first so it can take a little time to figure out how to work with the data and make the visuals look appealing. That said I was able to find online tutorials that helped so it never became a major problem.

“See your data in one place”
Pros
Tableau works well with import and export across pretty much all the common data sources which makes handling data much more convenient. The interface is user friendly and it's especially helpful when you need a high-level view of the data for reporting or decision-making.
Cons
The biggest downside is the pricing since it doesn't feel very cost-effective. There's also a fairly steep learning curve and getting to an expert level takes a lot of time, practice and good groundwork.

Pros
One of the biggest strengths of this software is how well it creates beautiful data visualizations. Another part I really like is how easy the use cases feel and how quickly you can get comfortable learning Tableau.
Cons

“Good visuals at a quick glance”
Pros
Tableau's drag and drop tools make it simple to turn data into visuals and quickly understand what the numbers are showing at a glance.
Cons
