“Useful insights from strong dashboards”
Pros
Navigating Tableau is very easy and the filtering options are really useful. It gives me the information I need to track whether I am hitting my sales, client experience and productivity goals. I can also compare my performance with others on my team and within my group without anyone's identity being exposed. The visuals make it quick to spot what needs attention right away.
Cons
One issue I have run into is with a filter alert I set up to email me weekly but I must have configured something incorrectly because it keeps sending every day. I still haven't been able to figure out how to remove it.

“Self-service BI that delivers results”
Pros
Using Tableau as an end user feels easier than other tools. It makes self service BI feel realistic and much simpler to put into practice.
Cons
One area that could be improved is chart creation. It would be helpful if it borrowed some ideas from Power BI especially around sharing chart types.

“Quick to learn with strong analytics”
Pros
This is one of the best tools I have used for data analytics and it didn't take long to get comfortable with it.
Cons
At times it's a little difficult to find tutorials for the more advanced features but it's not a major concern.

“Useful analytics but visuals are dull”
Pros
Tracking and managing data is one of the things Tableau handles well. It lets us build dashboards where we can work with the data and turn it into the visualizations we need. Overall, it makes data analysis fun and enjoyable.
Cons
How simple it is to use really depends on the person who builds the dashboards. I am also not fully sold on the UX/UI and the visual side of it doesn't feel very appealing. Sometimes the charts and dashboards come across as a bit plain and boring.

“Clean interface but still manual work”
Pros
It's affordable, simple to work with and the UI/UX feels well designed. The available documentation is also enough to help when needed.
Cons
A lot of the process still needs to be handled manually and it currently doesn't offer versioning support.

“Strong sales insights”
Pros
Tableau lets me pull the exact sales figures I need based on the data I specify which cuts down a lot of the manual work involved in these tasks.
Cons
I'd still like to see more export options, along with better in-app tutorials that explain how to use the export features.

“Explore data with good visuals”
Pros
Getting into data and exploring it is very easy with this tool. It also does a really good job of supporting data preparation which makes the workflow much easier. One of the best parts is being able to build clear and effective data visualizations.
Cons
I haven't run into anything that gets in the way while using this tool and it has been able to cover everything I need.

“Strong dashboards with good analytics”
Pros
One thing I really appreciate is being able to create interactive dashboards from individual reports and worksheets. The platform handles large volumes of data very well, supports complex statistical analysis and still delivers cohesive results.
Cons
One part that could be better is the email alert functionality which feels a bit limited. For instance, the date range can only be adjusted by dragging instead of directly selecting specific dates so it ends up being time-consuming. Importing data also takes longer than I'd like.

“Favorites make reporting quicker”
Pros
One feature I really enjoy is the Favourites section. It may sound pretty simple but being able to jump straight into it and have all my most-used reports sitting there ready to open is really useful and makes everything much more convenient.
Cons
The only downside for me is that reports can occasionally take a while to load.

“Clear visuals for better decisions”
Pros
Turning complex data metrics into visual presentations for our physician board has been one of the biggest advantages. It has made decision-making much simpler and helps our team focus on real information instead of assumptions or perceived reality.
Cons
At times cleaning up the data can be a challenge but that usually comes from poor-quality data in our SQL database rather than an actual issue with it. Even then the built-in tools have helped me transform that data into something meaningful.

“Good visuals with useful prep tools”
Pros
Tableau Prep has been excellent and the desktop version is just as strong. The visualization tools are very flexible and let us build exactly what we need.
Cons
The licensing is ridiculous. I still cannot believe viewer licenses cost extra. On top of that our sales rep left Data Governance out of the original quote and then tried to add it during contracting which was a major negative. PrepCLI.bat works well enough but since it will soon require MFA, it's frustrating that the BAT setup doesn't support it.

“Visual insights that speed up work”
Pros
Seeing reports presented visually in this product makes it much faster to pull insights from data especially compared with how we used to work through everything in Excel.
Cons
One area that could be stronger is the online support ecosystem. The forums, help content and training resources could be much better developed, more along the lines of what Microsoft offers for Power BI.

“Strong dashboards with rich insights”
Pros
Tableau Desktop makes data analysis much more effective by connecting directly to hundreds of cloud-based data sources. The interactive dashboards, drag and drop functionality and natural language search help users work through data successfully. The interface feels clear and simple to navigate which makes it easier to understand information and uncover better insights. It supports the full process as well, from preparing data to doing deeper research and sharing findings that help move the business forward.
Cons
Using the cloud has its benefits but work can get interrupted when there is a network outage. The online version also feels slow at times and results can take a while to load.

“easy to use self-service analytics”
Pros
It is really useful for promoting self service analysis and it is very easy to work with. It's also easy to find resources and support materials for learning and using the tool.
Cons
The biggest downside is the cost and it still lacks some AI capabilities. Integration with SAP also isn't very user friendly which can make that part harder to manage.

“dashboards are top notch”
Pros
Building dashboards in Tableau is one of its strongest points and it handles data processing from multiple sources and connectors really well. The reports and dashboard elements look very professional and being able to manipulate parts of it through JSON is also very useful.
Cons
Two issues stood out while I was using it. One is that I sometimes ran into limits when trying to customize dashboard themes and colors to match client branding exactly. The other is that it can crash at times which may cause you to lose your work since there is no auto-save feature.
