“Good visuals with strong flexibility”
Pros
The built-in visualizations are a highlight of this package and there's a wide variety of options available to fit just about any need.
Cons
I don't really have any complaints. The only thing was that it felt a little challenging to learn at the beginning but it gets much better with practice.

“Widely used with plenty of tutorials”
Pros
Tableau is used broadly across the industry now and there are plenty of tutorials available online which makes it possible to learn the software and use it quite efficiently.
Cons
Getting started can still be a bit challenging for someone without a coding background especially when trying to understand the basics and core concepts.

“Strong analytics with good visualizations”
Pros
One of the best parts of Tableau is its analytics module. Pulling charts from the existing database is very easy and connecting current databases works really well. It also offers a wide range of professional data visualization options which makes it very useful for getting meaningful insights from the data.
Cons
Getting started does take a fair amount of effort because there is a learning curve before you can produce results successfully. Once you understand the basics though, creating the output you need becomes much simpler.

“Deep data with good visuals”
Pros
The graphics are excellent and handling large volumes of data is one of the things I appreciated most. The built-in tutorials are helpful because support is available right inside the app when you need guidance. It also helps you figure out the most effective way to present your data. Being able to step back a few actions is useful when you realize important data is missing and the flow chart makes it easier to follow and understand what you're doing.
Cons
There is definitely a learning curve especially if you are not already comfortable turning data into meaningful visualizations. It takes a bit of time to really learn how to use it well.

“decent visuals for tracking KPIs”
Pros
Tableau works really well for analyzing multiple data sets and turning them into clear, readable graphs. That makes it especially useful when comparing vendor performance and tracking KPIs.
Cons
A few features can be difficult to navigate if you haven't had the right training.

“very little training needed”
Pros
The visualization features are really strong, with a variety of chart and graph options that make information much easier to present and understand. It doesn't take much training to get comfortable with it and having access on both iOS and Android mobile devices is also a nice advantage.
Cons
The licensing cost is fairly high which can be a concern. Data security also doesn't feel as strong as it should be and some features require SQL queries which makes things difficult for users without that technical background.

“Friendly interface that's quick to learn”
Pros
Getting started with Tableau was easy. The learning curve is short and the graphical interface makes it approachable especially for non-technical users.

“Handles massive datasets without issues”
Pros
Compared with many other tools built for working with large datasets, Tableau gives you a far more powerful and flexible level of data processing. It handles datasets with millions of rows without much trouble which makes it a strong option for heavy data work.
Cons
One area that could definitely be better is the dashboard builder. It doesn't feel very user friendly and the workflow for turning data into a polished dashboard presentation could be much more organized.

“Frustrating and painfully slow”
Pros
The online setup at least made it simple to get pulled into trying it.
Cons
The interface is way too complicated and it makes you repeat the same actions again and again. For example, even after checking remember password for the database, it asks for it again the next time the screen loads. I was already tired of the endless spinning loader after the first day because everything moves so slowly. The dashboards feel like outdated 90s Excel and connecting multiple dashboard elements to a single filter is a painful process. Moving exports from one account to another, like Dev to Prod, felt like pure luck when it worked at all. I ended up wasting weeks on this product.

“the best tool for sure!”
Pros
Tableau has been the strongest tool I have used for presenting data in a wide range of formats. It works well for wrap reports, mid-campaign reporting, financials and pretty much any other reporting need. One thing I really appreciate is that it can pull in data directly from other platforms, like DCM, without requiring manual uploads.
Cons
There really isn't much to complain about although it does come with a bit of a learning curve for both creators and viewers. The person building reports has to spend some time learning how to create charts and experiment with the different settings which takes a while, even if it's not especially hard.

“Good visuals for large datasets”
Pros
It handles very large datasets really well which is a huge plus. After you get familiar with how it all works, you can build very clear, interactive visualizations that look excellent.
Cons
Getting comfortable with the software takes quite a bit of time. Even after using it for three months, I still have to rely on YouTube tutorials to figure things out.

“Fresh insights from strong dashboards”
Pros
Being able to reach a level of data visualization we never had before has honestly been a breath of fresh air. We can now build impressive dashboards that we simply couldn't pull together in our CRM system before.
Cons
At times getting to the exact results you're aiming for can feel a little intimidating. Most users would probably benefit from some training to really make the most of it.

“A flexible reporting solution”
Pros
Tableau offers almost unlimited customization for reports. Even though I don't build them myself, I work closely with our Data Team on the metrics I need. It's rare that it gets in the way of what we're trying to do. Considering how many advanced features it has, the interface still seems surprisingly clean and easy to navigate.
Cons
One part I am less enthusiastic about is how awkward it can be to copy and paste data directly from a report while viewing it in the platform. If you want to pull data out, you usually have to take an extra step like exporting or downloading it first. Sometimes I only need to grab a few rows or a single field from the report view and paste it somewhere else and I still haven't found a simple way to do that.

“Great visuals for tricky data”
Pros
Working with Tableau on my research data has helped me turn complicated large datasets into clear, meaningful visuals that other people can actually understand. It's a very powerful tool and I am able to customize pretty much anything I need for both my data presentation and statistical analysis.
Cons
Getting the most out of it does take a lot of training. It isn't something you learn instantly and it takes time to really understand how to use all of its features properly.

“Explore data really fast”
Pros
Switching between views and datasets happens incredibly fast in Tableau. The speed at which it displays data is impressive and it feels much quicker than any other tool I have used.
Cons
The interface isn't the most attractive and it's not especially user friendly when you first start using it, no matter how comfortable you are with software. To really get the most value from it some training is definitely needed.

“Helps spot denial trends clearly”
Pros
After just a couple of months of using Tableau, it has already made part of my job much more manageable. I use it to track and trend denials for medical payments we're expecting to receive.
Cons
At this point I really don't have any negatives to say about the software. Like any new program, there's a learning curve at the beginning and you need some time to get familiar with how it works.
