“Feature rich dashboards”
Pros
Among data visualization tools, Tableau still is like one of the strongest options available. It pulls data from a wide range of sources and turns it into professional reports and impressive dashboards. Nearly every data professional I know recommends Tableau because of how deep its features go and how much functionality it offers.
Cons
Getting into the more advanced features can take time because the learning curve is fairly steep. It's also been around for quite a while and the interface hasn't really evolved or improved much.

“Map your data across geographies”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is the mapping feature set. It's very easy to build a detailed map showing company X locations in country Y or even plot multiple companies across a country on a heatmap alongside population density. You can also break the map down by different categories, assign different colors to each one and there are just so many ways to work with it that it makes the whole process genuinely fun.
Cons
Working with multiple data sources can be a bit frustrating at times. You have to pay close attention to file extensions and make sure your data types are checked carefully, otherwise things can get messy.

“our clients love the custom dashboards”
Pros
Creating customizable dashboards in Tableau is very easy and being able to share them with clients while adding branded content is a big advantage.
Cons
One challenge is the growing competition from Power BI especially as more clients move toward it because the Microsoft suite offers that convenient all-in-one setup.

“Flexible tools for every visualization need”
Pros
It lets us present our data in a variety of ways. Its drop-down menus make it simple to adjust the data and view it from different angles in unique, useful formats.
Cons
I don't have any negatives to mention. It's been an excellent application and a very reliable tool for what I need.

“Team collaboration built into every view”
Pros
Tableau is like a high end data visualization tool with a very accessible interface. It integrates well with a wide range of data sources and building interactive, meaningful dashboards is quite easy. Whether someone is just getting started or already experienced, it works well for both skill levels. The real time collaboration features also make it much easier to share findings and communicate data clearly which makes it a very worthwhile option for turning raw data into useful insights.
Cons
Even though the interface is friendly, getting comfortable with its more advanced capabilities can still take time and some training. For users who don't have much background in data analytics, the learning curve may feel fairly steep at first.

“Transform messy data into clean charts”
Pros
One of the best parts is how much you can do with raw datasets and turn them into clear, easy-to-understand charts. It gives you a lot of flexibility when working with data and presenting it in a way that makes sense.
Cons
Performance can slow down a bit when you're working with very large datasets. It's also quite complex so getting comfortable with all the features and learning how to use it effectively takes a good amount of time.

“A complete suite for data visualization”
Pros
It makes data visualization and exploration interactive which really helps with decision making. There's a wide range of features, the interface is user friendly and the real-time dashboards are very useful.

“Visuals and dashboards in perfect harmony”
Pros
I find the dashboards and advanced visualization options were a big plus. In my project, I needed to do Principal Component Analysis which is basically dimensionality reduction and Tableau made it simple to switch between different chart types and choose the one where the components were still readable, even when the chart got pretty crowded.
Cons
The part that didn't click for me was connecting the datasets since that process wasn't very user friendly.

“calculated fields that actually make sense”
Pros
One thing that really stands out is how capable Tableau is when it comes to building calculated values. With a lot of other data visualization tools, that process can get complicated fast or even demand some coding know-how. Tableau makes it much more approachable and that has been a big reason the experience has been so positive for us since it solves one of our biggest pain points.
Cons
Sometimes putting together dashboards feels easier in other tools but that tradeoff is small compared to how much better it handles the data side.

“Rich visualizations for every department”
Pros
To me the best parts were the visualization and how quickly automated dashboards could be created. Integrating it with other tools was easy too and it pulled everything together into one consolidated place.
Cons
The data inputs needed to be very precise for the outputs to come out correctly which sometimes made consolidation more difficult. It really depended on having consistent formatting and uniformity across all inputs and source systems.

“grows well with your team size”
Pros
One of Tableau's biggest strengths is how well it scales to an organization's needs. Whether the company is small or large, the limitations are really defined more by the organization than by the software itself. On top of that the way it presents data visually makes the information very clear and easy to understand.
Cons
It can handle almost any kind of data but it really performs best with structured datasets. Because of that, you need people on your team who can organize the data properly into rows and columns, otherwise you won't be able to get the most value out of the software.

“Connect to virtually any data source”
Pros
Tableau's best strengths is how many connectors it supports, including Teradata, BigQuery, Salesforce, SAP, Snowflake and plenty of others. It also handles a wide range of chart types like pie, donut, map and Sankey charts. With that flexibility, I can build engaging dashboards that tell a story and really help inspire my audience.
Cons
The downside is that its desktop licensing can be expensive especially for individual users or smaller businesses.

“Refresh live for always-current views”
Pros
The visualization tools are incredibly strong and make it much easier to track how I am performing against this year's goals across several objectives, as well as compare results year over year, without having to work through the raw data myself. Having Tableau automatically refresh the data source with the latest information every time I open a dashboard is especially valuable.
Cons
There's definitely a learning curve and it takes time plus plenty of practice to figure out how to build worksheets that actually answer the specific questions you need. Dashboards can be even more challenging to set up.
