“10/10 experience”
Pros
Tableau feels like a very complete tool for data visualization. It lets you build excellent dashboards and a wide variety of charts which makes it really useful for presenting data in different ways.
Cons
One limitation is that the charts cannot be exported in an editable format or directly into Excel so that reduces how practical they can be in some cases.

“decent reporting companion”
Pros
After moving to a new company, I started working with Tableau for reports and dashboards. It took a bit of getting used to but I have come to see it as an excellent tool and a really valuable complement to Salesforce reporting. The two platforms are different but in a way that works really well together.
Cons
Since I have spent much more time using Salesforce, the only downside for me at this point has been the learning curve with it.

“Reports and maps that look great”
Pros
It turns data into visually appealing reports in very little time. The map plotting feature is the most interesting part and the rest of the tools are also simple to use.
Cons
The pricing is hard for an SME to afford and it could be simplified further for sales teams.

“Strong analytics”
Pros
Using Tableau is very easy. It's highly efficient and cuts down a lot of manual work especially when it comes to data analysis and visualization.
Cons
Naturally that level of quality comes at a cost. It is a little expensive and I hope Salesforce makes it more affordable in the future.

“Flexible with great visuals”
Pros
Getting started with the visualization side of this software felt very natural. Even without knowing much about the features beforehand, I was able to teach myself and gradually discover many of the strong and advanced things that can be built with it.
Cons
On the downside, when I connect it to large databases with a lot of data, the performance drops a lot. It becomes very slow and doesn't seem to handle that level of load very well.

“A strong tool for visual reporting”
Pros
Turning raw data into something clear, manageable and visually appealing is where Tableau really delivers. It gives you plenty of options for building charts, graphs and other visualizations to fit different needs and it also pulls in data from a wide range of sources. If your work involves presenting data on a regular basis, it can be an incredibly valuable tool to have.
Cons
Getting started can take some effort because the learning curve is a bit steep. Beginners should expect to hit a few obstacles while figuring out how to build the exact reports or visuals they need.

“Clear data across the whole department”
Pros
Ever since we started using Tableau, our data has stayed much clearer and better organized. It also works well across the whole department so everyone can use it consistently.
Cons
At the beginning it can feel a little confusing to work with but with some training and regular use, it becomes much more familiar.

“Real-time insights but loads slowly”
Pros
One thing Tableau does really well is keep the data updated in real time so you can view different data splits as they happen. It works nicely for business presentations and the data integration is handled well too.
Cons
The downside is that it's quite a heavy tool and it takes a lot longer than expected to load.

“Strong dashboards with nice visuals”
Pros
When it comes to querying a data warehouse and putting together KPI reports or charts, Tableau is the tool I'd go with. A few things make it stand out for me such as setting up data sources is easy, with plenty of connection options available, the charts and visualizations are excellent and its mobile BI support is very strong.
Cons
Pricing is a big factor when deciding whether to go with it. It also really needs a built-in feature for scheduling automatic report generation.

“Useful insights”
Pros
Tableau is an awesome visualization tool. The dashboards and reports you can build are impressive and uncover a lot of insights that are hard to spot when you're only looking at data in table form.
Cons
Creating anything beyond very basic dashboards is quite difficult. It's definitely not a user friendly piece of software when you want to build more advanced reports.

“Make better choices with Tableau”
Pros
After bringing Tableau into the mix, our data finally turned into information we could actually use. Before that, we had plenty of data but struggled to analyze it in a way that helped us run the business. Tableau ended up solving that problem for us. We now understand different parts of the business much better and can make more informed decisions because of it.
Cons
Getting started with the software was definitely challenging especially when it came to setup and learning how to use it. Once we became more familiar with it and with a lot of help from the support, it started to feel much more manageable. I still don't think we're using everything the product is capable of and part of that is because we've been a bit hesitant to dig deeper into all of its functionality.

“Pro-level results !!”
Pros
Tableau delivers powerful capabilities and very professional looking results. There's also a lot of training available, whether through online examples, company classes and seminars or third-party courses. Anyone with an IT background especially a DBA or someone trained in analytics, will be able to understand the material and get real value from it.
Cons
One thing that gets overstated is the advertising aimed at executives, making it sound like every business should just buy it right away. The reality is that this is not a simple paint-by-numbers tool that you can pick up instantly. It really takes a skilled DBA, data analyst or someone with good IT knowledge who is willing to learn the platform before those impressive charts start happening. It helps a lot to connect with a user group for support and in many cases hiring someone experienced is what makes the cost actually worth it.

“Strong dashboards but workflow is tricky”
Pros
Tableau presents really valuable information and I appreciate the variety of dashboards and detailed insights it provides. Being able to export user data into a CSV is also a huge plus and something I rely on a lot.
Cons
At the same time I still don't know how to use half of what it offers and it doesn't feel very user friendly. I can tell it has a lot of powerful features but I am not sure how to get the most out of them. There are also times when it won't let me download crosstabs right away so I have to keep clicking around in the data before it works. A lot of the time I end up taking screenshots instead because there isn't an easy way to download or export the information I need.

“Flexible SQL with great visuals”
Pros
Being able to write custom SQL queries made it simple to pull exactly the data I needed. After the data was loaded, it was very fast to pivot everything and turn it into visualizations.
Cons
The product lineup can be a bit confusing especially when you're trying to figure out which version fits your business best. On top of that some products work with certain databases and computers while others don't.
