What Is Narakeet?

Narakeet is a cloud-based platform that turns text into speech and creates videos using artificial intelligence. Developers, educators, and content teams use it to make narrated videos and voiceovers without recording anything themselves. It converts scripts, PDFs, EPUBs, or Word documents into speech in 100+ languages. The system can also turn subtitle files directly into voiceover audio that lines up with a video's timing, and it has a separate tool that transcribes spoken audio into text in 66 languages. Together, these tools help users save time on recording and editing audio and video manually.

What Is Narakeet Best For?

Narakeet is best known for its 'video as code' approach to making narrated videos for developers and technical teams. It turns Markdown scripts, images, and text-to-speech audio into finished MP4 files. The same process also handles scene transitions, syncing, and subtitles. That fits teams creating documentation videos and screencasts, maintaining content in multiple languages, or regularly updating videos with changing scripts and visual assets.

How Much Does Narakeet Cost?

The pricing for Narakeet starts at $6 for 30 minutes of audio or video. The platform offers one-time plans to purchase additional capacity, based on how much content you create or transcribe. The rest of the pricing breaks down like this:

  • 300 minutes – $45
  • 1,000 minutes – $100
  • 2,500 minutes – $200
  • 10,000 minutes – $500

The platform supports both free and commercial accounts, and the limits on commercial accounts can be increased on demand.

In addition to the base costs, organizations should account for the following potential expenses:

  • Implementation: Usually priced between $0–$1,500 (one-time), and it stays low because setup is mostly self-service, with extra cost only if you connect it to an existing content pipeline through the API
  • Training And Onboarding: Typically falls around $0–$800 (one-time), since there's not much of a learning curve, and cost only goes up if a large content team asks for formal training sessions
  • Integrations: Often comes in between $500–$5,000 (one-time), and the exact number comes down to how much development work is needed to connect the API or CLI to a CMS, LMS, or CI/CD pipeline for automated video generation
  • Customization And Configuration: Generally set between $300–$2,000 (one-time), covering things like custom voice tuning, pronunciation dictionaries, and branded video templates

Most users describe Narakeet's pricing as affordable and good value, especially compared with hiring voice artists, and see the starting price as reasonable. A few still find it pricey and would rather use a free tool.

For accurate pricing based on your organization’s needs, it’s recommended to request a custom Narakeet price estimate.

Disclaimer: The pricing is subject to change.

Who Is Narakeet For?

  • Marketing professionals
  • IVR and call centers

Narakeet Use Cases

Based on our analysis of user reviews and Narakeet's current capabilities, we have identified key scenarios where this software is a good fit for teams producing video and audio content:

Development Teams Keeping Product Documentation Videos Current With Frequent Releases

When a product changes, the screenshots and the walkthrough video usually don't change with it right away. Someone has to notice the change, re-record the video, and re-edit it. Narakeet takes screenshots and a narration script and turns them into a finished video, which means documentation can ship with the release instead of catching up to it a few weeks later.

Sales And Marketing Teams Converting Static Presentations Into Narrated Video Content

Narakeet can take a PowerPoint deck a team already has and turn it into a narrated video without needing a voiceover recorded separately. Most sales and marketing teams already have a stack of decks sitting around from old webinars or pitches. Instead of writing new video scripts from scratch, they can just repurpose what's already there.

Teams Dubbing Existing Video Content For International Markets

Getting a video dubbed into another language often means finding a studio, or a translator who can also record clean audio, and both of those things take longer than a launch calendar usually allows. Narakeet works from subtitle files instead, generating synchronized narration in the target language so a video with translated subtitles can get matching audio without a full re-record or an external dubbing vendor.

Publishers Converting Long-Form Manuscripts Into Narrated Audiobooks

Narakeet converts manuscript text straight into narrated audio, which matters most for publishers who are working on more than one title at a time. Booking a studio for every book, especially one that keeps getting revised right up to the deadline, isn't always realistic on a small team's schedule. This gives independent authors and publishing teams a way to keep producing audiobooks without relying on a studio.

Customer Operations Teams Automating Short-Form Voice Prompts Through The API

An IVR greeting or voicemail message seems like a one-time recording, until the wording changes and it needs to be redone. With Narakeet's API and command-line tools, those short clips can be generated straight from text, so updates go out as soon as the wording changes instead of waiting on a studio slot.

Is Narakeet Right For You?

If you are a team producing narrated videos, e-learning content, or documentation in multiple languages, then Narakeet could be worth considering. It offers 930 voices in 112 languages, which is enough range that most teams can skip hiring outside voice actors.

To keep the user data secure, Narakeet keeps uploaded files and finished videos on Amazon Web Services. Encryption applies both at rest and in transit through HTTPS, and each file needs storage authentication before anyone can access it. Its data processing terms also reference compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Video localization is shifting toward AI assisted workflows, where one tool handles transcription, translation, and dubbing instead of separate vendors for each step. Narakeet's version of this is AI Voice Dubbing. It transcribes video or audio, takes translated SRT or VTT subtitle files, and generates dubbed speech that follows the timing of the original recording.

Narakeet Features

AI Reader

AI Reader turns written documents into audio for listening. It reads Word, PDF, and EPUB files, and it also handles SRT and VTT subtitle files. Reading speed, tone, pitch, and accent can all be adjusted, so it works well for listening to documents and articles.

See How It Works
AI Voice Generator

Users can type text directly, or upload a Word document or subtitle file, and the AI Voice Generator turns the script into a recording. Speed, volume, and pitch can be set before the audio is generated. If an Excel file is uploaded instead, each row is converted into its own separate audio file.

See How It Works
Dialogue Generator

Scripts with more than one speaker are handled by the Dialogue Generator, which assigns a separate voice to each part. Voice stage directions in the script mark which voice reads each section, so a single audio file can contain a full conversation. This suits scripted exchanges, character dialogue, and training scenarios where several speakers need to sound distinct.

AI Voice Dubbing

Instead of starting from a script, this feature works from subtitle timing. Existing video or audio gets transcribed, the resulting SRT or VTT file gets translated, and speech is generated from that translated file. The narration follows the original subtitle timestamps, so translated dialogue stays aligned with the matching part of the source content.

See How It Works
Text To Voice Audiobooks

Long manuscripts can be converted into audiobooks with the Text to Voice Audiobooks tool, which accepts Word, EPUB, and PDF files. Word and EPUB work best for structured manuscripts, and chapters can be prepared as separate audio files. The finished recording can be exported as MP3, WAV, or M4A.

Voicemail Greeting Generator

Short phone greetings can be produced from a written script using the Voicemail Greeting Generator. Presets are included for personal, business, after-hours, vacation, and holiday messages, and reading speed, pitch, and volume can each be adjusted. The finished message is saved as an MP3 or WAV file, without recording anything or setting up a separate voice session.

Great voiceovers for promotions

Pros

It has been really useful for creating voiceovers for our videos especially for promoting our educational software with an Indian accent. It offers a huge selection of voice options, ranging from US and UK English to Indian accents, with 790 accent variations across 103 languages. We mostly rely on the English Indian voice Neeraja and it has worked very well for us. The platform is simple to use and set up and the credit-based pricing is affordable too, starting as low as Rs.480. That makes it convenient to download the voiceovers and quickly add them to our videos.

Cons

Honestly there's very little to complain about because it delivers voiceovers in minutes and removes the need to hire someone externally, all at a fraction of the cost of a real voice artist. The only issue we have run into is that certain names are occasionally not pronounced correctly.

Their support is quite responsive

Pros

The biggest advantage for me has been how simple it is to use. The platform feels very user-friendly which has made creating presentations and animated videos much easier. the variety of templates and customization options helps me give each project both a polished, professional look and a more personal touch.

Cons

Another area that really stands out while using it is the customer support. Ive run into a few situations where I wasn't sure how to use a feature or had a technical issue and each time the support team was quick to respond, very approachable and genuinely ready to help resolve things as fast as possible.

natural voices for quick videos

Pros

Getting started with this AI has really changed how I make voiceover videos. The process is very simple...just enter the script and it turns it into speech that sounds quite natural. It also supports multiple languages which is a huge advantage when creating content for people in different regions.

Cons

There's a decent selection of voices but I'd still like to see more variety especially for specific niche use cases. More pitch control options would also make it better. Aside from that, everything works well.
