“Terrible support and lost access
Pros
Being able to switch models in the middle of a chat is useful and the app is quick when it comes to answering questions or helping with research. Overall it works fairly well when you just need fast information.
Cons
The customer support is unbelievably bad. I joined a friend's enterprise plan for a couple of months to test it and after leaving, all of my chats and spaces vanished like I was starting over with a brand-new account. On top of that, my personal Pro account stopped working too even though I still have around 7 months left on the subscription. I contacted enterprise support and only got an automated chatbot reply with generic steps to follow which I did and then nothing for 2 weeks. I followed up and got the same bot response saying someone would reply when possible, followed by more silence. After another week, I reached out to their regular support team, explained everything and once again the AI told me it had escalated the issue and that I'd hear back within 2 days. It has now been more than a week since then. At first I wondered whether this was just my case but after looking online, it's clear their support really is this bad and plenty of other people have had the same experience. Long story short, this is easily the worst customer support I've dealt with in a very long time. If this were my company, I'd be embarrassed. At this point I'm done using Perplexity which is disappointing because I had been looking forward to trying the new computer feature but I'll be using Manus instead.

“Helpful for everyday tasks
Pros
Whenever I need to switch off my brain and handle really routine tasks, this is nice to use. With just a bit of guidance, it does the job really well.
Cons
The nonstop censorship makes it feel as if chats that are supposed to be private might not actually be private. That part is pretty unsettling and honestly a little scary.

“useful web research companion
Pros
Using Perplexity Pro has been really useful for both studying and work. It can search the web, cite sources and explain things in simple language which saves me from jumping between a bunch of tabs. I also appreciate being able to upload files and get summaries or even code from them.
Cons
At times the answers sound very confident but still contain small mistakes so I end up checking the source links myself anyway. The platform also has a lot of modes and settings which took some time to understand. And after using the Pro version, the free version now feels pretty limited.

“Reliable research
Pros
Working as a researcher, I've been using this app to keep my literature and experiments organized and it has been really helpful. I also rely on it every day to draft and polish emails which helps keep my communication consistent. Another thing I appreciate is how well it handles scientific reasoning and that it can point me to actual research papers.
Cons
With newer AI models like ChatGPT 5.1 and Grok4.1 coming out, it feels like this tool is starting to fall behind a bit. On top of that, I really wish it could generate Word or PDF files because not having that option is a drawback for me.

“Smart daily coding!
Pros
It feels really smart and clever. It helps me debug my code and it's one of the AI tools I use every day. I'd definitely recommend it.
Cons
I've run into a few issues when trying to generate images. It isn't very efficient for that and in that area Google Gemini works better.

“User-friendly design
Pros
This tool has been performing exceptionally well for me, with a very user-friendly interface and consistently detailed answers across all kinds of questions. It has noticeably improved my workflow and, honestly, has felt more helpful than my past experience with platforms like Google and OpenAI. The design feels user-friendly and the overall functionality comes across as genuinely intelligent.
Cons
There's a lot of promise in this app and when everything is working properly, it's genuinely impressive. At the moment, though, a couple of things hold it back: there's no voice activation or wake word so I have to physically pick up my phone before giving voice commands and it also fails to save voice preferences like speed or accent between sessions. If those issues were fixed, it could easily become a standout app. Another frustration is that on the free plan, it's possible to burn through your talk time just by testing different voices. On top of that, today it randomly started speaking Spanish.

“Research companion with cited answers
Pros
It has turned into my first choice for personal research. Instead of working like a standard search engine, it pulls information together from different sources and includes citations which cuts down the time I'd normally spend digging through articles. Whether I'm looking into technical subjects, current events or very specific historical topics, it usually gives me clear source-backed explanations. The follow-up question feature also makes the whole experience feel more like an actual conversation. Use case: personal research, self-education, studying complex or niche topics and exploring current events.
Cons
For more in-depth questions, I still sometimes need to manually verify the sources especially when the answers lean too heavily on broad summaries. The interface could also be better organized when it comes to saved threads and search history.

“All-in-one models that deliver
Pros
Having a wide range of useful models in one place is probably the best part and its automatic choice of which model fits a specific question works pretty well.
Cons
I've tried a few other apps similar to this one and one thing I've noticed is that it tends to use fewer sources for searches than some of the others. It also has occasional hallucinations which is definitely frustrating.

“accurate responses and helpful chat
Pros
Talking with the AI is the part I enjoy most and the response speed is really impressive. It feels quicker than most other similar tools I've used.
Cons
The voice feature can struggle to understand you when there's background noise which makes communication less reliable in those situations.

“Fast search with trusted sources
Pros
This has been a really positive experience because the interface is clean, quick and simple to navigate. The AI-powered search also includes sources and clickable citations which makes the answers feel more reliable and turns it into a very useful tool for research.
Cons
It honestly covers everything I need. I can also use the AI to put together schedules, workout routines and meal plans so at this point I really do not have any complaints about it.

“Reliable sources & transparent links
Pros
It feels more like a search engine than a typical AI tool and it shows the links to the sources where the information comes from which makes it possible to verify firsthand whether those sources are trustworthy.
Cons
My hesitation is more philosophical than practical. I still feel pretty conflicted about AI in general especially because I do not like how artists' work is used to train these systems. That said Perplexity seems to use AI more for finding information than for exploiting artists' work or at least that is how it comes across to me.

“versatile web search and model choice
Pros
I really appreciate that it pulls in results from the web which made it stand out to me compared with other LLMs that didn't at the time even though I know a lot of them do now. The interface is also really well done and being able to switch between different models feels like a major advantage.
Cons
After using the desktop app for a few months, I've noticed it can be fairly buggy. I also get the sense that they may be falling behind a bit on the next generation of models although I can't say that with complete confidence since that impression mostly comes from not seeing it mentioned by other tech people as a company that's really pushing boundaries.

“reliable sourcing
Pros
It brings LLM-based search to life by combining it with web browsing which helps surface highly relevant results. The Deep Research feature, powered by DeepSeek, does a strong job of delivering thoughtful answers along with full research-style write-ups. Source attribution is another big plus since it clearly shows where outside information comes from. It's also useful being able to switch between different LLMs and reasoning models to compare how each one responds.
Cons
At first the response lag took a bit of adjustment. That said the interface handles it well with status updates so the usual 5-10 second wait feels much more acceptable now. One downside is that even with the $20 per month plan, API usage beyond $5 still costs extra. On the bright side, the token pricing remains fairly affordable.

“Real-time search is great
Pros
real-time web search is amazing, it makes the results feel current and much more useful. Having sources listed at the bottom of every response also helps a lot when it comes to checking accuracy and verifying the information. The answers are concise, digestible and easy to understand and the deep research feature is especially valuable for handling more complex tasks.
Cons
Like any AI tool, it can still produce inaccurate information at times. It also tends to include too many sources even for simple questions which can feel unnecessary. Another limitation is that it does not offer image generation capabilities.

“Expert spaces are fantastic
Pros
Ever since early 2023, I've been using it consistently and by early 2024 I upgraded to a paid plan because it was delivering more practical value I could actually monetize than the other AI tools out there. Being able to upload and analyze documents inside a dedicated expertise "Space" basically lets you build your own AI specialist for whatever field you need.
Cons
The biggest thing holding it back is marketing. It honestly feels better than ChatGPT and several other options but not nearly enough people seem to know about it.

“Phenomenal copilot and trusted sources
Pros
One of the best things about it is how informed it is across a wide range of topics. It can pull in current information from the web and even better, it shows the sources it used so you can verify what it tells you. The copilot feature is especially impressive since it even asks follow-up questions to clarify what you mean and give a more accurate response.
Cons
I really wish for a few more free copilot uses per day. That said I'm still grateful they offer some free uses daily and honestly, it feels worthwhile enough that paying for it makes sense.

Pros
Having the Chrome extension available is incredibly convenient. I rely on it all day as my main research tool and it's also very useful for checking and confirming details.
