Syeda Sarosh Sohail is a Trauma surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She graduated from Aga Khan University Medical College and completed a General Surgery residency at Montefiore Hospital, a Burn surgery fellowship at Jacobi Medical Center, and a Trauma/Critical care fellowship at Westchester Medical Center.  

She is currently an assistant professor of surgery and clerkship director for visiting medical students from Drexel University. Her professional interests focus on minimally invasive and robotic surgeries with an emphasis on utilizing robotic surgery for urgent care procedures.  

With a career spanning over 9 years, Sarosh has been involved in various research projects. She was co-convener of the student research forum at Aga Khan university where she was involved in a cohort study on the impact of prophylactic gastrostomy in head and neck cancer patients. Later, as a resident, she worked on a case series analyzing the utility of Botulinum toxin in abdominal wall acute care surgeries.  

Sarosh is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and association of Women Surgeons. She has, over the course of her training and professional life, employed the use of various EMR systems, including Epic and Cerner. She aims to inspire other women to fulfill their professional ambitions and reach for the zenith despite societal expectations and prescribed roles.
