“powerful features”

Pros

It is an incredibly powerful program that offers a wide range of excellent options especially when it comes to the level of detail it provides. Even though it is not the simplest software to learn, it still delivers a lot in terms of capability and functionality.

Cons

This program can take a while to fully understand everything the software is capable of and at times it also needs a few seconds or even minutes to process and complete certain tasks.

“too many bugs for engineering”

Pros

Being cloud based is a plus because of how handy it is compared with traditional on premise software.

Cons

Despite the convenience, there are a lot of issues and bugs and the product still doesn't feel ready for serious engineering work.

“promising future for simulation”

Pros

What matters most to me about this software is its forward looking approach to simulation. A user or company can prepare cases locally and then send them to the cloud to get fast, accurate results. That kind of flexibility is really convenient because it avoids a big upfront investment and you only pay for the computing resources you actually use.

Cons

only concern is that the pricing feels a little high compared with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure. That said, it does provide some built in automation when moving work over to the cloud.

“fast server”

Pros

Everything is available on a single server which makes it very convenient. The server performs quickly and all jobs run through without any problems.

Cons

My project won't start when using a file taken from an older RDP session.

“Great Workbench cloud integration”

Pros

Right from the start, the way it integrates with Workbench feels smooth which makes adapting to cloud usage through Workbench very easy.

Cons

One frustrating part is deploying and implementing the BYOL feature with the existing license pool we already own. It takes a lot of setup and extra effort before it's actually usable. I'd really expect or at least hope for, a simple GUI that lets users choose whether to use their own licenses whenever they need to.

“modern platform”

Pros

A modern, versatile platform with plenty of flexibility, backed by excellent technical support whenever help is needed.

Cons

Its performance depends heavily on internet speed and downloading results can be quite painful.

“user friendly tool”

Pros

The interface feels very user friendly and the platform works well with different ANSYS licenses.

Cons

Wish the pricing was clearer since usage can be customized in a lot of different ways.

“Helpful support”

Pros

Whenever I needed assistance, the ANSYS team was very helpful and responsive.

Cons

One thing that still needs to be added is LS DYNA run support especially since LS DYNA is now part of ANSYS.

“huge variety of options”

Pros

Getting started was simple and it runs quickly when using multiple CPUs and larger RAM configurations. I also appreciate that there are optional settings available so I can choose only the features or resources I want.

Cons

It still has some bugs though. One issue I ran into was not being able to see the real time elastic coins and at times the response from the operating system can be slow.

“better training docs needed”

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is the focus on having training documentation that's much clearer and more effective especially for new graduates who are just getting started.

Cons

I'd also like to see an object oriented structure similar to Simulink or LabVIEW.
