“abysmal 10DLC support delays”
Pros
The platform itself is decent and it includes most of the features you'd expect.
Cons
Support around the new 10DLC requirement changes has been unbelievably poor. Our account managers kept offering excuses for the delays in 10DLC processing, while enablement stayed stalled for months at a time. If another provider offered stronger support than Bandwidth, I'd switch my business over immediately.

“too many dashboards and hidden add ons”
Pros
Port triggering, SMS integration and overall reliability have been fairly solid.
Cons
Using it can be frustrating because support, account management, the 911 section and the support tools all seem to require different dashboards and separate logins. On top of that the add ons needed for 10DLC mandates were not automatically included or clearly made available which feels unnecessarily hidden.

“Rollout turned into chaos”
Pros
Right now, there really aren't any positives I can point to though maybe that could change later.
Cons
Dealing with its A2P SMS program and their account management has been deeply frustrating and honestly felt like a nightmare. We joined the A2P program in August 2022 with real excitement, expecting a service customized to what we actually needed. Instead, more than a year later, we were still being asked to complete more forms and re register and we had not sent even one message despite supposedly being onboarded to the A2P SMS product. One of the biggest problems has been how unclear and directionless the whole process has been. We specifically asked for a rollout in just one country yet they came back with a plan for 120 countries worldwide. That showed very little attention to our actual requirements and highlighted poor communication and lack of understanding from their side. The billing side made things even worse. We found out recently that we had been charged an extra 3% simply for having a card on file and that was never clearly disclosed. No account manager mentioned it, no email explained it and it did not appear on our invoices. That level of non transparency and lack of proactive communication around charges is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about their billing practices. On top of that the constant turnover in account managers made the experience feel disorganized and disconnected. Having three different account managers in 12 months meant there was no continuity and our project suffered because of it. We kept getting mixed messages especially around the recommendation to bulk purchase 10 DLC numbers. Taken together, these issues caused a major loss of trust and left us feeling like the business had also lost revenue because of how badly this was handled. Something that was supposed to help us grow ended up being a constant source of disappointment and stress. Overall, our experience with Bandwidth has been extremely negative. They failed to stay focused on our actual needs, communication was poor, charges were not transparent and account management was inconsistent. We expected professionalism and efficiency but instead we ran into one setback after another and it has had a real impact on our business. I'm sharing this as a warning for others considering this software for similar services.

“reliable API for customers”
Pros
Its API has helped us deliver a really positive customer experience on our side.
Cons
The area that still needs work is carrier registration (10DLC). When something goes wrong, their team usually takes quite a bit of time to troubleshoot it or provide a clear answer.

“Solid docs”
Pros
This platform is highly appreciated by developers for being scalable and dependable to work with. It also offers thorough documentation and helpful resources which makes getting started easier and helps teams get the most out of the services.
Cons
A downside is that the port tool doesn't show carrier details for a number when that number isn't portable.

“fast number updates”
Pros
One of the biggest highlights is how quickly number orders get processed and updated. That turnaround time has been really impressive.
Cons
Emergency services spreadsheets are still a pain to deal with and support hasn't been very helpful when questions come up.

“missing texts”
Pros
It works well for us as a provider mainly because the pricing is cost effective and the product performs well when everything is functioning properly.
Cons
The toll free verification process has been pretty disappointing. They say 5 days is standard but we ended up waiting 23 days to get verified. On top of that getting any kind of response or status update has been lacking. It would make a big difference if their team were more proactive about informing customers when delays happen, instead of making us keep following up ourselves. Another major issue is that it will randomly fail to deliver messages for some of our customers which has become a serious frustration.

“instant numbers for teamwork”
Pros
Whenever I need to connect with colleagues in other cities, I just request a number and it's available right away. I've also been able to assign numbers to employees I work with and that has helped us build a very efficient and collaborative workflow.
Cons
There's nothing I dislike about this platform.

“Quick number purchases”
Pros
Porting features are what I use the most and buying a number has also been very useful.
Cons
One limitation is the availability when trying to purchase 800 or toll free numbers.

“helpful support”
Pros
Delivery has been consistently reliable for us and issues rarely come up. On top of that the support team and our account manager are both very pleasant to work with.
Cons
The dashboard offers strong reporting for SMS but Voice reporting still feels limited. I'd really like to see a new system put in place for voice statistics.

“easy call quality and routing”
Pros
This app consistently gives us the high call quality we need for our clients. We primarily rely on it to route calls after they leave the datacenter and it handles that role well. The web GUI is also fairly user friendly which makes day to day use simple.
Cons
We've run into a few recurring call quality issues although they've been pretty rare overall. Every now and then, the site throws an error during a routine task or order attempt but it usually works fine on the next try. It hasn't been disruptive enough to hurt the overall experience though it happens often enough to be worth noting.

“flexible API”
Pros
Using this has been going well thanks to how user friendly it is. Their customer support has been very helpful and the team is quick to adapt when changes are needed. I also appreciate that the company is strongly portal and API driven.
Cons
One downside is that the platform still feels a bit limited in feature depth and the sales strategy could benefit from better long term vision.

“helpful porting team”
Pros
Its porting department has been fantastic to work with. The team consistently provides top notch support and I really appreciate how reliable and helpful they've been.
Cons
Porting itself has been a real headache especially with the jump in SMS traffic and the overall increase in call volume tied to recent global health issues and the shift to remote work.

“web based self management wins”
Pros
Being web based makes managing everything yourself really convenient and hassle free.
Cons
A few tasks still require submitting manual tickets, like adding a trusted IP though I understand that's done for security reasons and helps prevent abuse of the service.

“Responsive support”
Pros
Honestly it feels very user friendly and the support team responds quickly. The staff are approachable, knowledgeable and helpful whenever needed.
Cons
There are only a few downsides that come to mind and none of them are deal breakers. You can't submit a trouble ticket from the main login so you have to sign in separately through the support portal instead of sending one directly from the dashboard. Also, when setting up campaigns, this doesn't alert you if a client's number gets removed, such as when they switch carriers. On top of that there's no simple way to search or sort for a client so you end up scrolling through all the setups just to find the right brand.

“user friendly UI”
Pros
Working with this program has been a really positive experience. The customer service is excellent and both the UI and API feel user friendly. It comes with impressive features that make day to day work much more manageable. On top of that it's budget friendly and communication has consistently been reliable and pleasant throughout the time I've used it.
Cons
Up to this point, I haven't run into any major issues while using the platform so there really isn't anything I can say I dislike about it.

“distributed teams win”
Pros
This software really brings my application to life by adding VOIP and call center management. It also makes it possible for my staff and me to work with customers even when our team is spread across different locations.
Cons
Getting the integration up and running took some effort but the support team was available whenever my team needed help.
