GAGEpack feels like one of the most complete digital asset management solutions available.

Pros

Using it has been really simple and that's the part I appreciated most. It's very simple to work with and doesn't take much effort to figure out.

Cons

Biggest downside is that it's no longer being supported which is definitely a concern.

It comes with template procedures as part of the purchase which is a really useful addition.

The interface could be more organized. It feels a little outdated and the integration with our ERP isn't very strong.

The training sessions were useful and the tech support team was friendly and able to fix anything I may have messed up.

I decided not to connect the new system with the old one because I wanted to start fresh with a clean slate. At this point I haven't come across anything I dislike about the new system.

“Limited reporting”

Pros

something that works really well is the color-coding in the software. It makes gauges that need attention stand out right away so it's very quick to see what requires action at a glance.

Cons

A frustrating part is that the software is not validated by the manufacturer so bugs and other problems often are not discovered until end users run into them later. On top of that, the calibration and PM due reports come out only in PDF or CSV formats which means they have to be converted into Excel or another more usable file format before the people receiving the reports can actually work with them.

“Helpful reporting and tracking”

Pros

Right away, GAGEpack felt user-friendly and gives a concise overall view of the information I need. It's especially useful for generating reports and keeping track of gage information without a lot of hassle.

Cons

There really isn't much to complain about. If I had to point out something, it would be that reports can sometimes take a little effort to manipulate the way I want but I'm usually able to figure it out. Overall I'm very satisfied with the product.

Pros

the software offers excellent capabilities for what I need. The customer service and support have also been outstanding and the customized reporting is a big plus.

Cons

I haven't run into any problems so far and at this point I don't have any suggestions for improvement.

simple to work with and very insightful. It seems to cover everything well, including the statistical processing, without leaving anything out.

After more than 30 years of using this product, I honestly can't point to anything I'd call the least attractive part.

Once you get through the heavy upfront setup and development work, the system becomes very user-friendly and lets you handle company assets quickly and efficiently.

I really do not have many complaints since most of the problems I have seen are usually caused by the operator and can be fixed without much trouble. That said the technical and customer support has been pretty disappointing and, at times, hard to deal with. Some of the support experiences have been so frustrating they were almost funny, like something straight out of an SNL sketch or a Seinfeld episode. Maybe part of it is my own lack of knowledge or maybe my company was not fully prepared but there have definitely been moments where customer support made me feel completely foolish. Both my company and I would gladly pay extra for better support if that were an option because condescending conversations are the last thing anyone needs when asking for help.

Keeping track of calibration schedules is very simple to follow.

Cons

Software upgrades can lead to changes in the database.

Pros

it has been really convenient and very user-friendly to use it. The ability to build custom filters lets me organize and view gages in whatever way fits our specific needs and situation best.

Cons

In a small job shop with fewer than 50 employees, this software fits our quality lab perfectly. Honestly I can't think of a single downside.

“Quick gage lookup and simple rollout”

Pros

Getting to the right gages is fast and the system was simple to put in place and train users on.

Cons

The downside is that the online training and seminar options are priced high.

Whenever a part is entered into the system it shows all the related information in one place. That makes it really simple to check the status of any part quickly.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any problems with GAGEpack. It has handled everything I need and has been an excellent calibration and staging tool that makes my job much easier.

Pros

Setting up new gages is simple and editing gages that are already in use is just as convenient.

Cons

Adding attachments and photos to gages could be better and feels a bit difficult.

Within the first half hour of trying it, I could already see the value in what it offers. Setting up data for devices is simple and the historical data tracking is excellent. It works just as well if you want something simple as it does if you need a more detailed and complex setup. Whenever I've needed help, support has been very responsive, with quick chats and callbacks. The dashboard is especially useful for planning upcoming events and it's a really valuable tool to have when the auditor is on-site.

Cons

Every year I end up having to justify the software cost to our I.T. team and management because there are cheaper alternatives available on the market.

Pros

Getting started with GAGEpack was very simple and the layout feels simple to work with. The service has also been solid and the yearly fees are quite reasonable for what it offers.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is tighter integration with Microsoft Office for communication-related tasks, such as being able to send automated emails directly from the system.

The interface is user friendly and simple to work with. I also appreciate having all the information in one central place instead of jumping through a bunch of different pages just to enter data.

There really are no major downsides. The only thing I'd want is a feature that shows all unused available numbers at once which would make finding open gage IDs faster.

This software has been a fantastic fit for managing gages in a small business. It really helps with keeping up with the requirements needed for ISO 9001 which is something I value a lot.

Cons

That said I can see it being very hard to work with in a larger company. Entering gages into the system is not very simple and I honestly wouldn't want to rely on it if I had to manage a high volume of gages.

Pros

Keeping tabs on tools and equipment is one of the most useful parts of GAGEpack. It also helps a lot that reminder schedules for due dates can be set on different timelines and there's plenty of detailed information you can attach to the tools we use.

Cons

One issue that comes up pretty often is the program crashing on a fairly regular basis which usually means we have to reach out to support to get it reset.

“affordable and intuitive with excellent support”

Pros

Compared with many competing products, this one costs less and is still very user-friendly, even for someone who is not particularly computer-savvy. Whenever I've needed assistance, the customer service team has been excellent and very helpful.

Cons

There were a few features that were not immediately simple for me as a non-technical user and entering all of our gauges manually took a fair amount of time. PQ Systems can transfer all of your gauges into the software for you but that comes at an added cost. Still, these felt like fairly minor issues overall.

the tutorials help you get up and running pretty quickly. It works really well for tracking products and tools and the built-in email feature is useful for sending reminders so people know when something is due. Customer support has also been very dependable and they usually resolve problems fast whenever something comes up.

Cons

Creating certain reports can be time-consuming. The software does include some built-in reports but I've still needed more options than what's currently available.

Pros

Out of all the gage management tools I've worked with, GAGEpack has been the most simple and user-friendly by far. On top of that, the customer support has been outstanding every time I've needed help.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into any problems with the software. It's very simple to use.
