“excellent support and reporting”
Pros
Creating reports is pretty simple and the customer service and technical support have been outstanding.
Cons
Compared with GAGEtrak Lite updating a gage now takes extra steps in the newer version which adds a bit more work.

“Flexible report export options”
Pros
It offers several different formats for exporting reports which is really helpful.
Cons
One issue is that there isn't a menu list for entering the standards used during a calibration. Right now, you have to enter test points first before selecting which standards were used. Also, when printing an ad hoc report for a gage, the notes section gets left out. I think every item in the gage menu or calibration menu should be available as a report, with the option to turn certain sections off so reports can be customized as needed. Since many electrical calibrations include hundreds of test points, entering them one at a time in GAGEtrak feels very inefficient.

“better labels and navigation”
Pros
Working with it feels very simple and getting around the system is easy. Being able to print labels instead of writing them by hand is also a big improvement.
Cons
Overall it's been good. I'm still getting used to it but compared with the older version I've seen, there are a lot of positive improvements.

“Leaner tool calibration tracking”
Pros
Switching from an Excel-based process to GAGEtrak has made our tool management system much leaner and more effective. It gives a clear view of which tools are already calibrated which ones are due and which have just completed calibration. That visibility has helped cut down the chances of missing a tool's calibration. It also includes reporting features that organize the data in a format we can present to auditors.
Cons
At this point our organization is satisfied with the software and it is doing exactly what we need it to do.

“helpful dashboards and visibility”
Pros
I only used the software for evaluation and didn't end up purchasing it but during testing it made a strong impression. The dashboard is really well done and puts all the important data in one place which would be very useful when responding to auditor questions. The workflow system also creates a clear, well-organized process and gives better visibility across everything.
Cons
I honestly don't have much to add in this area.

“Familiar interface and flexible tracking”
Pros
Coming from a Microsoft Access background, getting used to GAGEtrak version 7 was pretty simple. The screens and dialog boxes feel familiar and are laid out in a clear, concise way. It lets us track all of our gauges with exactly the level of detail we want, whether that's basic information or something more in-depth. The calibration schedules are also fully customizable and the system keeps the history needed to support a solid audit trail.
Cons
At this point maintaining this version of GAGEtrak has become more difficult because the underlying technology is aging. Since our installation is based on Office 2013, we've run into a few cases where Microsoft updates created problems. The fixes usually aren't too difficult to identify but they often depend on Microsoft releasing another update rather than CyberMetrics providing the solution directly. It does look like future versions are moving away from relying on Office which should help reduce this problem quite a bit.

“helpful calibration tracking features”
Pros
Having used GAGEtrak for around seven years across a couple of different companies, I can say it does a solid job of managing gages and calibration requirements. The option to customize test points for gage calibration is definitely valuable although it can be a bit confusing when you first start setting up your groups. Another feature that has been especially helpful is the addition of "days from issue" for calculating calibration due dates since it reduces unnecessary calibration work on gages that are not being used.
Cons
My biggest frustration with this software is how incredibly slow it is. Even when the database is stored on the same PC, the Microsoft Access platform really hurts performance. When the database is hosted on a remote server, it becomes even worse. I regularly end up waiting several minutes just for the database to process very simple updates and the system frequently fades into a "not responding" state. Just this morning, it took more than an hour to enter only five gage calibrations because of the delay after every entry, repeated "not responding" messages and random, confusing date format errors even though the program filled in the date automatically. In the end, I had to close the program and leave several calibrations unfinished because I had other work that needed my attention.

“Useful calibration tracking but overpriced”
Pros
There really aren't many other products out there that do what this one does and overall it performs its job well. The calibration test point tool is especially valuable and stands out as one of the most worthwhile features.
Cons
The biggest downside is the price which feels high for what the software actually does. That said it still simplifies the process and if you're managing a large number of tools that need calibration, it's helpful for staying organized and keeping track of everything.

“valuable structure for calibration tracking”
Pros
Keeping up with gages that need calibration or repair is much more manageable with this program. It takes away a lot of the manual hassle and saves a ton of headaches.
Cons
The software is definitely more expensive than Gagelist. That said it feels a bit more organized and better structured for what I need.

“Simple and straightforward tracking”
Pros
it keeps things simple. It lets you record all the necessary information without becoming overly complicated.

“Smooth upgrade from legacy tools”
Pros
Coming from a tracking, inventory and calibration scheduling system that dated back to 1996, switching over felt much better than expected. GAGEtrak was able to bring in all the data from that old software and the move to the new system was simple to manage.
Cons
The data backup process can be a bit tricky although it's still manageable.

“customizable tracking that works”
Pros
Using this program has been very simple. It makes managing thousands of gages much simpler and the customizable lists are a really valuable feature too.
Cons
I'd really like to see the option to create smaller separate databases within the main database. That would let me keep one database for each customer who sends in gages while also maintaining our own gages separately instead of having everything combined in a single database.

“Well-organized records and calibration”
Pros
The records storage setup is really solid. Everything stays well organized and the data entered keeps its integrity unless a user intentionally changes it. Using gauges for calibration and measurement also feels very natural and simple.
Cons
Only downside is that entering gauge values can get tedious at times especially during heavier audits. A more user-friendly interface with slider-style features would be a nice improvement.

Pros

Cons
The downside is that it still relies on an Access database on the back end.

“Solid calibration tracking tools”
Pros
Keeping track of gages and calibrations is one of the strongest parts of this software. It also comes with plenty of added features that make reporting useful for both management and customers to review.
Cons
