Cool features and solid tools

Pros

These are super easy to use, nothing complicated about them at all. I didn't run into any confusion or weird setup stuff.

Cons

I was surprised by the price especially when you compare it with other tools. Even though some of those aren't as useful, they're definitely cheaper.

Not the smoothest experience

Pros

If you're not part of the internal team, I'd say skip this. They'll tell you it works fine without help from Support but in reality, you might need to tweak your product just to fit Appcues. And if you're based in the UK, heads up, their support is only in the US. That means staying up late for email replies that aren't always simple.

Cons

Troubleshooting stuff is a problem, the interface isn't the best and honestly the setup feels way too complicated.

Really happy with AppCues

Pros

AppCues is really flexible. I picked it up with barely any training and the online resources helped a lot. Everything felt easy to figure out.

Cons

There's absolutely nothing I dislike about this software. It's just awesome.

Works well for onboarding new users

Pros

The campaign editor is super user-friendly, which makes it easy for our marketing team to jump in and create content when we roll out new features. We also love how it lets us track success and measure customer engagement without extra tools.

Cons

We did run into a couple of technical hiccups but thankfully their support team was super quick and helpful in getting us back on track.

Perfect for creating guided tours

Pros

What stood out to me was how easy it was for someone like me without a dev background to create and publish guides in our app. It saved our developers a ton of time and effort which we really appreciated.

Cons

They use a Chrome extension to build the guides, which can be a little tricky to handle sometimes. But on the bright side, it makes updates and fixes super fast. What bugged me a bit was having to rely on a third-party tool to get more in-depth analytics about our users.

My go-to for onboarding

Pros

It's been great for onboarding new users to our system. It helps explain our complex workflows and UI in a way that's easy to follow. The only time we needed a developer was during the initial setup which wasn't hard at all. After that, anyone on the team could create great flows with no problem.

Cons

The way it works with iframes in your web app can be a pain especially if you're using microfrontends. You'll need to do some extra integration work within each part of your app.

Essential for product-driven growth

Pros

It helped us roll out in-app messages super fast, which made a big difference in user experience and boosted key business metrics. It's sleek, simple to use and lets more team members test ideas without needing developers. That saves both time and money. I'd definitely recommend it every product team should be using this.

Cons

I'd love it if Appcues worked with mobile apps too. Also, I couldn't find any undo button while creating flows which is kinda frustrating.

Easy way to chat with users

Pros

This is a seriously powerful toolkit for reaching our users without having to get engineering involved for every little change. Makes communication so much easier.

Cons

For me, learning how to use it wasn't easy, it's definitely a steep learning curve. I wish it had smarter logic like skipping steps if a certain element is missing on a page or branching based on what shows up.

Hard to beat this one

Pros

I like how simple it is to use but also how deep it goes when you're building user onboarding flows. It's that perfect balance of easy and powerful.

Cons

I'm missing a few features like being able to use event attributes in segmentation. But I've got to say, their support team is always helpful and willing to find workarounds.

Simple & easy communication

Pros

We'd been searching for something like this for ages a way to notify users about updates or issues directly on our platform. We thought it would take forever for our dev team to build it but then we found Appcues. Now we send quick alerts in-app instead of long emails. It's totally changed how we talk to our users.

Cons

I genuinely love this tech. I haven't come across anything negative so far. And for someone who's not super tech-savvy like me, it feels really easy to use.

Totally hooked on Appcues

Pros

It's super user-friendly. Everything I need to handle in-product communication is right there. I can also check metrics easily and export them if needed. Plus their customer support? Easily one of the best I've dealt with.

Cons

Honestly I haven't run into any issues. And whenever I needed help, their support team was always there and quick to respond.

Boosts our marketing game

Pros

The Chrome extension is honestly one of Appcues' best features. I can build and preview flows right inside our app, which makes everything so much faster. Being able to turn it on and off quickly really helps our workflow.

Cons

The Chrome extension, which can be very annoying especially during live demos or when you're trying to make changes quickly. But overall it hasn't stopped us from getting good results with the app.

Support team really helps

Pros

Setting up onboarding flows was very easy. Also loved how easy it is to explore the data once everything's live.

Cons

The NPS data exploration part is solid but I don't like that it only supports one language. It doesn't automatically switch based on the user's language, which would've been really useful.

Smooths out the user experience

Pros

What I love most is how it lets our users figure things out on their own. It's all about empowering them without needing long onboarding calls. Even folks who aren't super tech-savvy can feel confident using our platform thanks to Appcues.

Cons

The pricing is on the higher side, so you really need to make sure you're getting enough value from it to justify the cost.
