Axigen Features

It provides real-time email protection with its embedded Bitdefender-powered AntiVirus and AntiSpam solution. This feature scans incoming and outgoing emails for malware, phishing attempts, and spam, ensuring high detection rates. Users benefit from reduced security risks and a cleaner inbox, while administrators can customize filtering thresholds and policies at server, domain, or user levels.

See How It Works

Axigen’s Smart Processing™ technology optimizes email delivery through virtual queues, retry policies, and built-in DNS caching. It separates queues per domain to avoid congestion and caches DNS queries for faster routing. This ensures reliable email delivery, minimizes delays, and improves server efficiency, especially for high-volume environments.

See How It Works

The WebMail interface groups emails by thread (Conversation View) and allows users to organize messages with labels, similar to modern email clients like Gmail. This feature enhances productivity by reducing inbox clutter and enabling quick retrieval of related emails. Users can also apply rules to auto-label incoming messages.

See How It Works

The platform supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® for seamless synchronization of emails, calendars, contacts, and tasks across mobile devices (iOS, Android) and desktop clients. This ensures real-time updates and offline access, making it ideal for businesses that require mobility and collaboration.

See How It Works

It stores only one copy of emails sent to multiple recipients within the same domain, significantly reducing storage overhead. This is particularly useful for distribution lists or large organizations, optimizing disk space and backup efficiency.

Works well if you don't plan to migrate

Pros

Synergy Wholesale provided it as a mail option with ActiveSync included and all of this came at a very reasonable additional monthly cost so I considered it.

Cons

Migrating away from them was challenging especially when it came to transferring my calendars. There were paid third party solutions available but doing it myself without them was tough. Toward the end I experienced frequent ActiveSync dropouts which led me to switch to Microsoft 365 and those issues disappeared.

Good enough for business needs

Pros

What I love most about Axigen is how simple it is to adjust preferences and switch between inboxes and is pretty easy to create and modify email signatures and settings making communication much smoother.

Cons

I don't like how quickly my inbox fills up forcing me to constantly delete old emails just to make room for new ones.

Offers smart email solutions, A good option

Pros

It has the fastest SMTP, a CalDAV calendar, and a mobile email interface that works on its own which I like the most about it. Besides that is scalable, secure and comes with excellent antivirus and anti-spam protection.

Cons

To be honest I do not really have anything negative to say about this mail server. I will just keep an eye on any updates and changes in API availability for future integrations.
