“near-flawless subtitles every time”

Pros

Right from the start, the speed and accuracy stood out. The subtitles come out nearly flawless and I've been really happy with how well it handles them.

Cons

One limitation is that the voiceover isn't directly editable inside the tool since it's not designed as a text-to-speech AI platform. Even so, it still performs well overall, with only a few small pronunciation errors now and then.

“Translation features that help my work”

Pros

Using this application feels very easy and I especially appreciate how much it helps with work tasks through its translation features.

Cons

The app's format or design could maybe use some improvement but that really doesn't take away from the quality of the services it offers.

“captions without the usual time sink”

Pros

It does exactly what it promises, generates captions and cuts down a lot of the time usually spent on subtitling.

Cons

A few of the tools aren't very user friendly at first and could use clearer labels especially for new people.

“simple setup”

Pros

Using it feels easy because the platform doesn't overwhelm you with too many options although having a few additional features would make it even better.

Cons

Would be helpful to have the option to skip certain parts of a video in some languages and I'd also like to see more video size download choices.

“easy navigation and great color themes”

Pros

Getting around the tool feels very user friendly and it's simple to use overall. I also really enjoy the color themes.

Cons

At times, there's a bit too much text on the screen but overall it's still a good tool.

“accurate transcriptions”

Pros

Right from the start, the software felt user friendly, with a very easy layout that doesn't take long to learn. The transcription is especially accurate when working with American English.

Cons

One thing I'd really like to see improved is British English transcription because it doesn't perform as well there as it does with American accents. It's also fairly awkward to use on a 13-inch screen so having some way to customize or adjust the workspace would help a lot. I also ran into a bug where, after editing a caption, I have to click away from it and then back again before I can split or merge captions, otherwise the latest changes don't register. Also, when using a Wacom tablet, I can't select a precise point or timecode on the timeline and have to switch to a mouse instead.

“quick quotes for the sales team”

Pros

From the get go, the usability, functionality and speed stood out. Being able to get a quick overview of a project and turn that into a quote estimate is especially valuable for the sales team.

Cons

Haven't run into any issues yet although I also haven't used it on larger projects so far.

“Everything works great”

Pros

A really collaborative way to subtitle videos and keep projects organized. The interface is very user-friendly as well, with a simple, easy layout that makes everything easy to follow.

Cons

The auto-transcription accuracy could still be improved and it would be better if multiple videos could be added to the timeline.

It saves a lot of time especially when you're juggling multiple projects at once.

Cons

Since the captions are generated automatically, mistakes can sometimes be hard to catch.

“Fast captions at 90% accuracy”

Pros

A big plus is how quickly it handles a 3-minute video while still delivering 90%+ transcription accuracy. It also outputs transcripts and captions in multiple formats which is really useful. Another thing I appreciated was the caption timing interface,it works well and makes adjusting timings easy.

Cons

I wouldn't say there's anything I outright disliked about the software. It's more a case of areas that could be improved. The interface could be more user friendly because I still spend a few minutes figuring out how to get back to the Transcript when I haven't used it in a while. If I were using it more than once a month, it would probably stick better.

“automatic scene detection saves time”

Pros

One thing that's been really useful here is how it automatically analyzes videos for cuts and detects scenes.

Cons

A downside is that CH lowers the audio quality of the video which makes it harder to catch subtle details in speech.

“multilingual subtitles in record time”

Pros

For two kiosk apps with several films each in 12 languages, this platform saved us a huge amount of time. Doing the translation and timecoding by hand would have been costly, slow and likely full of mistakes. It also would have been awkward to keep sending files back and forth with the client for feedback. With this one, we could quickly download approved subtitles for every language in whatever file format the application required. It made the whole process much more efficient.

Cons

Parts of the interface feel a little dated and could use some improvement.

“flexible renders without extra charges”

Pros

Being able to make multiple edits and render the project several times while only getting charged once is really helpful. It gives you plenty of room to fix mistakes, make adjustments and keep refining things without worrying about extra charges which is very convenient.

Cons

What got pretty frustrating was trying to subtitle just a few minutes out of a 60-minute video. When I deleted the captions, the screen would still leave behind a tiny black rectangle so I ended up having to remove most of the captions manually. Since there's no bulk delete option, the whole process took way too much time.

“Amazing!”

Pros

Getting from a finished video to a transcript and published captions is quick and easy. It saves a lot of time and there's also an option to translate captions into other languages although we haven't tried that feature yet.

Cons

The downside is that creating a version of the video with burned-in captions so it can be easily shared across different platforms, is only available with the upgraded CaptionHub plan.

“team subtitling made genuinely simple”

Pros

Subtitling feels easy and simple with this tool and the collaboration features make working with a team feel smooth.

Cons

Pricing is the part that gives me pause. From a pure cost-analysis perspective, setting up a low-operating-cost model could make subtitling cheaper but it works more as a tool to support the process than as a direct replacement.

“Overall it's great”

Pros

Having the translated subtitles appear live on the video while working is extremely helpful. It gives much better context, cuts down on extra steps in both translation and QA and ultimately saves time. Being able to download the final subtitle files is also a very valuable feature.

Cons

Something that would really improve it is the ability to make a change to the source subtitles after a project has already started and have that update carry over to the translation projects. That would be very useful for certain jobs.

“my review...”

Pros

Editing subtitles is easy and the English captions are fairly accurate at around 75%. It also gives the option to export either as a text file or as a video with burned-in subtitles. Sharing translations with other people so they can make edits is very convenient and the interface is clear enough that it doesn't require any explanation.

Cons

There's no way to adjust the subtitle font or background. The translation accuracy is much lower, usually under 50% and it struggles even with mild regional accents in English. I'd also like the ability to swap out the video on individual translated versions but right now it only lets you change the original source video.

“fast, accurate, easy to fine-tune”

Pros

The AI transcription is impressively fast and accurate and the real value shows up when it's time to make small edits to the auto-generated text. Being able to quickly fine-tune the transcript so effortlessly makes this software especially useful. Really impressive overall.

Cons

One thing I'd love to see added is this same set of features for live streaming as well. If it could deliver auto-captioning for live streams with this level of speed and accuracy, that would be amazing.

“autocaption, autotranscribe, autotranslate”

Pros

Interface feels very user friendly to use and the features I appreciated most were Autocaption, Autotranscribe and Autotranslate.

Cons

I found a drawback (especially from a teaching standpoint), is that students still can't do timecueing from scratch which is a bit inconvenient though I hope that gets added soon.
