Pros
I love how customizable it is and the functionality is top-notch. I can customize the messages and it covers all of our business flows perfectly.
Cons
It's pretty tough to use and sometimes it feels like it takes days to get everything right.

“Beware of their pricing strategy
Pros
It has a lot of cool features and setting it up was pretty easy. It's a bit clunky at first but once you get the hang of it, it's really simple to use.
Cons
It uses their code snippet to track any user who's ever been in our database, counting them toward the monthly user total. We got charged for 5,000 users while we were still in beta, but we only had 2 people actually working on it! They just point to a blog saying these users "might" log in at some point. If you have a steady user base, this won't be an issue. But if you're using it like we did to guide new users and see if the software fits them, why would you pay for users who will never log in again?

“Ideal for in-house IT teams
Pros
It's fully customizable, if you have the time to dive in. It has almost every feature we need to be successful. The week of live onboarding really helped get our staff on board with using the database.
Cons
Customizing It requires an IT professional and it's pretty expensive. It's not as easy as some other shelter software and you'll need an IT pro for specialized reports. Getting through to their help desk is also incredibly difficult.

“All in one solution
Pros
What I like most about this product is that it allows all officers to communicate on the platform, update cases daily and organize all the data input easily.
Cons
The part I like the least are the glitches in the system. It could really use more editing tools and upgrades to make it more efficient and cut down on the time it takes to get things done.

Pros
Chameleon has really strong tracking for everything from animals and kennels to licenses, field work, clinics and donors. It covers all our business flows perfectly.
Cons
The mapping feature on It is giving us a lot of trouble. It's probably more to do with our GIS data than the software itself, though.

“I never knew email could be so complicated
Pros
If you've got a 90-minute block to sit down and really get into the tools, you'll end up with a very professional-looking email or newsletter. It's as good as anything you'd see in any inbox.
Cons
Who has 90 minutes to spend on this, especially with such a complicated interface? They provide templates, but navigating through everything isn't simple at all. They could really take a cue from Canva and simplify things for users, especially those in the price range like solopreneurs and small businesses. The interface kind of feels like Adobe Photoshop, there's just too much going on.

Pros
I really like all the different features and how you can link to videos and other links. The message customizations are also fantastic.
Cons
It's a bit tricky to use and can be frustrating especially when you need to be on the webpage where the tour will be. Also, I wish there was an option to hide the Chameleon icon on the software.
