collaboration that just clicks

Pros

Working together on design projects online is one of the best parts of the software. Multiple people can jump into the same file and work on a project at the same time which makes collaboration really convenient. The interface is simple, the workflow feels easy and overall it's very user friendly.

Cons

There's nothing especially negative to point out. If anything, the sharing and permissions panel could be improved a bit but it's not a major issue. It would also be nice to have XLIFF export and import support.

Good UI

Pros

Right away, the software feels like one of the best-designed tools available. It's impressive that you can get so much value without paying since the free plan includes a lot of content. Getting started doesn't take long at all which makes it very beginner friendly. The tutorial and support videos are genuinely helpful and having access to so many plugins adds even more flexibility.

Cons

The folder organization can feel a bit overwhelming when you're just starting out. It's also frustrating that there aren't notifications for new design comments while collaborating.

collaboration and plugins are great

Pros

it's hard to know where to begin. the software is an incredible app with collaboration features built right in, an active community constantly putting out assets and plugins and the overall experience of using it is just really enjoyable.

Cons

There are a few parts of the UI that could be improved although that feels more like nitpicking than a real problem. Once you're familiar with the app, it barely matters.

handy mobile previews

Pros

Getting started with the software just means creating an account on their site and linking your Gmail and after that your profile is available online from anywhere. It's free for students who want to work on their own which is a big plus and overall I'd consider it a fairly affordable tool. There's also a mobile app you can install on your phone and being able to present your the software prototype directly on mobile has been really useful. That feature helped me a lot when I needed to show a prototype quickly while in a rush.

Cons

One frustrating part I ran into was with FigJam beta access about four months ago, when they still had the beta mode for building interactive components. I was told I had to submit a request to get in so I did but it took them a full month to respond and grant access which was much longer than I expected. It's also worth mentioning that the FigJam beta ended in February.

free and full of useful plugins

Pros

The software being free is easily its biggest advantage. It covers everything I need as an amateur designer and the plugins are really useful because they help speed up my design work.

Cons

Because it has so many features, it may not feel very accessible at first. It takes some practice and time using the tool before you can really master it.

Boosts brainstorming

Pros

FigJam has become my go-to for sharing and building ideas during meetings. I usually use it for flowcharts but it also works really well for website wireframes and general brainstorming sessions. The controls feel very accessible too.. things like duplicating an element with alt-click work the way they do in other tools so everything fits naturally into the broader workflow.

Cons

Keeping jam boards named and organized can get a bit messy at times. It's not a huge problem but it's not always as tidy or convenient as it could be.

great design toolkit

Pros

Getting started with the software felt very accessible and the range of tools and features seems almost limitless; I was able to design and mint my NFT with the help of the software and Photoshop.

Cons

The only real downside I ran into was needing to buy a third-party course to deepen my knowledge of the software since their own tutorials and walkthroughs aren't really sufficient.

Super useful

Pros

Being browser-based is one of the best things about the software and it's also incredibly powerful. You can create just about any kind of design with it and once you get the hang of how it works, it becomes something really useful to rely on every day.

Cons

There are a lot of features packed into the software and that can feel overwhelming at the beginning especially for someone who isn't a professional. Dealing with so many tools, options and functions takes some time to get used to.

useful updates for projects

Pros

They regularly roll out new features and those additions have been really useful and effective to apply in my projects.

Cons

It can feel a bit confusing at first if you're coming from Adobe. Some features are similar but there are still a few things that take time to get used to.

beginner friendly

Pros

Getting started with the app has been a really positive experience. The functions feels simple to use and the overall user experience is enjoyable. Its features are especially beginner friendly while still working well for other users too.

Cons

A limitation that could be improved is how frames are duplicated and copied over since that process would be better if it were more easy.

Reusable assets

Pros

One of the biggest reasons we keep using the software is how well the sharing features work. It's a really solid app for accessing anything the team has created and we can trust that those files will be available to reuse across our apps and dashboards whenever we need them. It also ends up functioning like a DAM for us which adds even more value.

Cons

The folder organization can be a bit confusing at times but it's still manageable overall.

everyone shoulf use!

Pros

Feels very natural because the interface is clean, easy and accessible. The free version already offers a lot which makes it a really good way to learn the software without feeling limited right away. Working together with teammates and clients is also very easy even when some of them have never used the platform before. On top of that, there are plenty of free templates and plugins available which add even more functions to the platform.

Cons

It can be a bit frustrating the way menus are nested in the browser version. Compared with Adobe programs, it doesn't always feel as accessible and sometimes you have to dig around a bit to find something like "Export file."

Versatile plugins and previews

Pros

Something that really keeps me using the software is the wide range of plugins available since they add a lot to the workflow and help improve the final output. Being able to preview designs across different devices, screen settings and sizes is also a big plus because it helps make sure the work stays polished, consistent and suitable for a wide audience.

Cons

Getting started with the software can feel a little difficult and it takes some time to fully get comfortable with how it works. That adjustment period could be discouraging for beginners who are just trying to pick up the software.

good experience

Pros

I appreciate how conveniently it works across both the desktop app and the browser which makes deployment flexible. Another feature I really value is the auto-save since it helps keep work from getting lost.

Cons

Bothers me that designs created for one screen do not automatically adapt well to other screen sizes. On top of that, the the software Mirror app has not worked as well as I expected, at least from what I have seen.

powerful web design toolkit

Pros

What really helps with the software is that it runs as a web app, aside from the version you can install on your computer. It comes with a wide range of features, including the ability to inspect the styles of the elements you design. The the software community is also incredibly useful because people share templates for all kinds of needs, from design systems to common mobile and web app components. On top of that, there are plenty of plugins available to extend what the software can do. Some of them can even turn designs into code which makes prototyping much more convenient. the software's built-in prototyping features are also a big plus when you need to present design flows clearly to clients or users.

Cons

Getting comfortable with the software does take some time but that's not really something specific to the software since every UI/UX design tool comes with its own level of difficulty. The upside is that the software has a large and growing community that keeps adding templates, plugins and tutorials so there's no shortage of resources to learn from. It may take a bit to adjust but for anyone who has already worked with similar tools, it probably won't feel like much of a downside.

encourages creativity

Pros

Hands down, this is one of my favorite tools. I use the software for much more than just design collaboration with cross-functional teams.. it also helps me build idea maps and test workflows. The feature set feels incredibly powerful and FigJam is a standout because it makes brainstorming genuinely enjoyable. Even after a few years of using it, I'm still really happy with how each new feature even the smaller ones, adds to my productivity.

Cons

Navigation can be a little challenging at times especially when a project has lots of frames and pages. Teams moving over from Adobe products may alsoface difficulty at first but in my opinion, the switch is still worth it.

free collaboration and prototyping

Pros

One of the best parts is that it's free to use. Collaborating with others in the software is really simple and the prototyping side of things has also become much more easy.

Cons

It would be even better if CAD tools were included. There's still room to add more features overall and the free account should come with access to more functions.

love the software

Pros

The plugins make the whole design process much simpler and faster to work with. Combined with FigJam, it becomes a very complete tool that helps you collaborate better and makes it simple to run different kinds of team activities. Everything can be moved around and adjusted without much effort and being able to leave comments is also a really useful bonus.

Cons

It doesn't notify you about new comments added to the design so sometimes it's easy to lose track of the conversation.

great collaboration for wireframing

Pros

Among design tools, the software feels like one of the very best. The interface is easy to work with and it comes packed with plenty of features. It lets me collaborate across teams while creating new wireframes for app features. The real-time collaboration is one of my favorite parts and the support for third-party plugins adds even more flexibility. You can also get a surprising amount done using just the free plan.

Cons

Getting started with design creation and trying out newer features can be challenging for beginners. On top of that, the software is still missing some interactive elements.

Fast workflow

Pros

Using the software has been really practical, fast and efficient. I'm very happy with how well it performs because it has a direct impact on productivity. The overall experience feels very good and fluid and it comes with a lot of useful features. Some of the things I enjoy most in the software are having folders inside a file/project, the ability to create components for elements and the hover effect options.

Cons

One thing that can be annoying is the menu in viewing mode. Sometimes it gets in the way when the layout has a top menu which makes it harder to click and properly test the prototype menu interaction.
