“Helps the team work better together”
Pros
I am very impressed. As when building a remote post production team, LucidLink has been a lifesaver letting every team member, no matter where they are in the world work from the same set of media. Also it performs great even on lower speed connections and across different operating systems.
Cons
It is not a complaint but a suggestion for those planning to use it that it is quite important to go through all the initial setup steps as there are so many key settings that impact how well your team can operate. As skipping those will definitely cause issues.

“Took a while, but happy to be in the cloud now”
Pros
Well I like that we can connect from anywhere and all our engineers use the same drawing files. It is very important for our plans that everyone sees the same backgrounds. Honestly it feels like we just replicated our in house server as we kept the same folder structure per year and that helped preserve hard paths in AutoCAD, even on older drawings.
Cons
I do not have too many complaints but as someone new to cloud servers, I am still learning my way around. I was not the one who handled setup but I wish we'd named our folder something easier to remember as finding our filespace can be confusing. And though I have saved it in favorites and another spot on Windows 11 yet I still end up hunting for it. In the past we mapped everything to network drives, assigning new letters each year which helped with organization. Also Autocad runs fast but it needs cloud access to open and save files. We used to keep working even when the internet dropped as now everything halts until it is back. Maybe we could use a local cache that syncs automatically later? Right now our whole team of engineers is stuck if we go offline and that really kills productivity. We are new to this system so maybe we are just not set up for that kind of fallback.

“Very much happy with it”
Pros
It is really easy to use. Also I find the interface and setup both very clean and simple.
Cons
Well I really need to work offline often and it is frustrating that I have to manually copy files to a local folder and then back again later. I get that it is a tough issue to solve. Also lucid:// links do not always work well on Linux but that might be more of an OS issue.

“Works but outdated”
Pros
What I love most is how LucidLink gives my team and me full access to all our media. Also it has made managing and sharing files with freelancers so smooth and efficient.
Cons
I think the new LucidLink interface needs some refining. As the classic version gave me more visibility and control over things. Also moving cache locations is a lot harder now since it can only be done via command line.

“Some bugs here and there, but it's usable”
Pros
It does the job well and I would say it is definitely better than Dropbox when it comes to video editing though it is not without some flaws.
Cons
My service got cut off right when I hit 1TB usage and too without any warning or heads-up. The result of it is that it completely threw off a major deadline I was trying to meet.

“Works fine for the times I do use it”
Pros
One feature that really helped us was progressive uploading. As being able to preview and log files while they were still coming in made a big difference.
Cons
I could not move the main project folder which was frustrating. Also a few editors ran into issues using it with Resolve but thankfully those problems got sorted quickly.

“Best remote collab tool I've seen for creatives”
Pros
LucidLink is an essential part of our remote production process as we could not maintain our current workflow without it.
Cons
One thing I really like to see is more built in integrations with digital asset management tools like Box or platforms like Frame.io for presenting media.

“Totally worth giving it a shot”
Pros
It gives my team instant access no matter where they are. Also it makes collaboration seamless between editors, motion artists and graphic designers.
Cons
I feel like the admin features are a bit too basic. Also it could really use more control options for managing users and permissions.

“Feels like it saved the day”
Pros
The workflow is so simple. Ans as someone working remotely, this tool has been an absolute game changer for me.
Cons
Installing it on my Mac was a little more complicated than I expected. But their support team helped me through it and was great to work with.

“It worked out pretty well for me”
Pros
Their customer support is excellent. They are fast, accurate and genuinely helpful every time we have needed assistance.
Cons
While it is a great platform I do think the pricing feels a bit steep especially for smaller teams trying to manage budgets.

“Decent one!”
Pros
Being able to collaborate as a team under one shared system makes our work way more efficient. Overall it is a great platform.
Cons
Sometimes we run into connectivity issues where the connection just dips randomly. It did not happen often but enough to notice.

“Would totally win if they backed MSP partners”
Pros
It is fast and user friendly. Also the app is ok and good to have, though there is nothing exceptional about it.
Cons
As a managed service provider I am pretty selective about what I recommend and the lack of an MSP partner program makes it hard to push LucidLink. Also there is no whitelabeling or partner perks which is disappointing.

“simplifies remote work”
Pros
Everyone in our team can access the same files, using the same paths which is is great as it improves consistency across the team.
Cons
A few people in our team still do not fully get how remote workflows work and end up dragging files from Lucid to their local machine instead of working in place.

“Easy to set up”
Pros
I have seen LucidLink grow over the years as we were one of their early users. Now it is the go to standard for remote collaboration. Everyone from writers to editors can work as if they are right in the office, navigating files just like they would on a local server. Also it is quick, reliable and with a proxy workflow, it honestly feels like local editing.
Cons
The only downside for me is that it requires your IT team to handle the implementation since there are higher level security permissions involved than I'd prefer to deal with.

“This syncs better and faster than most”
Pros
LucidLink file syncing is both faster and more stable than other tools we have tried.
Cons
The setup was a little tricky though that is likely due to macOS and its newer security layers rather than LucidLink itself.

“Awesome for me”
Pros
We have been using LucidLink for over three years now and we are still huge fans. It is rock solid and reliable, letting us access files both in the office and on the go. Also it the best for team collaboration.
Cons
Well I love to have a mobile app version just something simple so you can view files when you are away from your desk.

“Handy tool for cloud video edits”
Pros
Not only is it fast but it is flexible and easy to use. Plus with a decent internet connection, we can stream and edit full HD videos without a hitch.
Cons
Setting up cache space is not as easy as we expected especially when third-party vendors are involved. You really need a fast, large SSD for it to work well.

“So far, so good”
Pros
The speed is what stands out to me the most. Plus being able to access and work on any file from any location with internet is a big win.
Cons
Some files cannot be locked since the platform does not support native file locking and that issomething that caused a few headaches for us.

“The best in the market”
Pros
It outperforms pretty much every other cloud based solution we have tried both in terms of speed and compatibility.
Cons
On Macs seting up the recovery partition requires quite many extra steps, which is annoying. But it looks like this should be fixed in version 3.

“User-friendly but not issue-free”
Pros
LucidLink is simple to work with and it makes collaborating on shared projects really easy for us.
Cons
I like to have a more streamlined way for DITs to upload assets into a shared folder. Maybe a simple desktop uploader app like MASV would help make daily transfers easier.
