Pros

Very manageable i must say. We have six team sites across our organization and with help from our Customer Success Manager, we were able to build a Dashboard that lets our board members find the information they need in just a few clicks.

Seriously haven't run into anything on the site that I dislike.

Pros

Keeping board materials organized is so much better with it. Everything is in one place, simple to search and much easier to manage. I'm really happy those days are gone when we had to overnight board packets and then deal with slip-sheeting updated documents on the day of the meeting.

Cons

Because I rely heavily on the keyboard, I do wish pressing the "Enter" key worked as an option instead of needing to reach for the mouse and click the "Submit" button.

Using this software has been very simple not just for me, as someone close to Gen-Z but also for older users on our team who need to get into our files in BoardVantage.

There honestly is not much I dislike about the software. The only thing that could be improved is allowing members to access multiple accounts from a single login. Some of our board members also serve on other boards that use BV and they occasionally run into issues when trying to switch between accounts quickly. It would be much more convenient if both accounts could be accessed in one place.

Switching from paper to digital for board preparation has been a pleasure because the setup is simple and the system is very user-friendly.

I'd really like to see is integration with my Gmail calendar and files.

Getting started with this software is fairly simple and it works especially well when handling confidential documents.

At times when the software runs into issues, we have trouble getting in touch with our account manager.

Right from the start, the software has been simple to use and the frequent updates are a nice bonus that keep things interesting.

There is nothing major to complain about. One thing I did notice though, is that admins used to be able to set a password for directors and the directors could then change it when logging in but that no longer seems to happen.

Using this software feels very simple and it keeps documents stored securely. Another part I really appreciate is the customer support team. They responded quickly and resolved my issue without any hassle.

Over the past several years, I've used its Portal on behalf of my boss for the quarterly board meetings he attends, first in person and since Covid, virtually. It has been an excellent platform for communicating with other board members and the Executive Director. Security matters a lot today and this portal stands out as a very secure option. Overall, it's an excellent product that I would definitely recommend. Whenever a question comes up, their customer service team is always available and consistently very helpful.

Honestly I don't have any complaints. The platform is simple to use, the customer service is excellent and finding and accessing information feels very user friendly.

Really like the tool overall... Uploading and organizing documents is simple and sharing them securely works really well.

It would be much more convenient if files like Excel or PowerPoint could also be used as the front page of a book instead of only Word files. The email feature is also a bit awkward since I can't view the previous email while writing a new one. When adding documents to a book, it would also help a lot if an "Update" label could be added automatically next to the document name on the front page.

This works much better than paper board books and I really appreciate being able to open it on either my computer or my iPad.

One frustrating part is that it keeps asking security questions every time I open it, even though I repeatedly choose no security questions and sometimes it even rejects my correct answers. Moving between inbox items can also feel a bit outdated.

Distributing meeting papers is much more efficient now and it saves both time and a lot of paper.

Still a bit of setup involved since users need to be shown how to use it and passwords have to be arranged for occasional users.

The drag-and-drop tools, along with the edit and replace options, make this product very simple to work with and use day to day.

When it comes to separator pages, the automated option hasn't worked as well for us so creating them manually ends up being the better approach.

Whenever questions come up, the customer support is second to none. Even for things I could probably find in the user guide, the team is always happy to help with screenshots, one-on-one calls and even individual training when necessary. I also appreciate how secure the platform is since it gives us confidence that only the right people have the access they're supposed to have. We recently used the survey feature for electronic voting during our annual elections and it worked very well and was simple to use.

Cons

Something that could be improved is the calendar setup for conferencing details. We use Webex for virtual meetings but the teleconference information shown in the template does not sync properly with the links.

Pros

Editing and updating board books takes very little effort which makes a big difference. Even small revisions don't turn into a lot of extra time or work. It's especially useful for living documents that need frequent changes.

Cons

A limitation is that documents can't be attached to emails unless they've already been uploaded into Boardvantage. That can be a hassle for people who don't have permission to edit or upload files.

Using this software feels very simple and the level of confidentiality it provides makes it highly satisfying to work with.

From the start, getting access seemed a bit troublesome but that is no longer a problem.

Functionality and usability are both excellent. Even with all the bells and whistles, it still feels very user-friendly.

Nothing major to complain about. Like with similar tools, it can be a bit tricky to place documents exactly where you want them within a Board Book.

It was quite simple to get started with it and we didn't need to bring in an IT team to set it up. The support staff has been quick to respond and consistently helpful whenever questions come up. It has made a big difference in helping us go paperless instead of dealing with bulky board materials which has been especially valuable while meetings are being held remotely. Another plus is being able to build a board book from different file types like PDF, Excel and Word and swap out pages without much hassle.

One limitation is that all of the published materials have the same look. It would be better if there were at least some cover customization options, even something as simple as choosing different colors.

Getting started with BV feels very simple. A dedicated rep is assigned to you, meets with you directly and even helps set up your company which takes away the stress of worrying whether everything was configured correctly. The support team has been excellent as well, with very fast response times. I also really appreciate the replace feature in BV whenever a document needs to be updated.

Cons

There is nothing about BV that I dislike. That said, there are still a few minor areas that could be improved. If you do have an idea or suggestion, you can submit it for review and see whether other users support it or have asked for the same thing. BV is very receptive to feedback and open to suggestions.
