Nylas simplified what would have been a complex and time-consuming build

Pros

I appreciate how the platform simplifies the integration by abstracting away the details about the upstream email providers that our users may choose. We just build for one API, and that's all we need to focus on.

Cons

Some of the tools from their v2 API haven't been transferred to v3 and it can be challenging to navigate their documentation due to the variety of APIs available.

great email api for effective shared inbox creation

Pros

Our team implemented a shared inbox using Nylas and it completely transformed our workflow. The Email API was easy to integrate, with clear and helpful documentation. We've been using Nylas for over three years now and the most impressive part was how smooth the onboarding process was. Within days, we had a working shared inbox, which allowed us to focus on enhancing our core product instead of dealing with backend complexities. The API is both powerful and simple, offering all the necessary features, whether it's syncing emails reliably or managing threads and attachments efficiently. Thanks to Nylas, we were able to deliver a professional-grade feature with minimal effort.

Cons

There isn't much to complain about, like any service, it's continuously evolving and may have its occasional quirks. However in the years we have used it, we've rarely experienced outages, which is the most crucial factor for our service.

Seamless email integration with nylas

Pros

it has made email sending through our app incredibly smooth for our users. They wanted to send emails to their contacts but didn't want those emails to come from a third-party email server or address. It's integration with Gmail and Microsoft scopes simplified and scaled this feature, allowing thousands of users to reliably send emails daily. Our users are thrilled with this functionality and it was it that made it all possible.

Cons

It can be tricky to explain how it works to our users. While the its documentation is helpful, it sometimes gets quite technical.

Ideal solution for integrating email

Pros

it really simplifies the process when you need to integrate with multiple email providers. Their robust API enabled us to create an email integration with various vendors without having to worry about the intricate details of connecting to each one. It also solves the major problem of email deliverability by allowing end users to send emails directly from their own addresses when using a third-party tool. The implementation time was quick, allowing us to develop a solid and impressive product in just a few weeks. The support team is always available to help and is very responsive to any questions or issues we might face.

Cons

Since their API is designed to work with most email providers, there are certain features missing when you integrate with them. The troubleshooting can be a bit complicated because of the extra layer involved.

SCAM Alert!!!

Pros

The calendar feature is quite basic. The documentation is outdated, and the product is very expensive (around $3k annually).

Cons

This has been the worst company I've ever dealt with regarding customer support. They include hidden clauses in their contracts for auto-renewals and renew whenever they choose. If you're considering signing with them, be cautious!!!! these are not people you can trust!!!!

Steer clear of nylas scheduling features

Pros

Initially, I thought it would be more affordable.

Cons

The documentation for their API is unclear, the support is unhelpful and there are bugs in their scheduling tool. It even booked events over existing ones. It was by far the worst API integration I've encountered. If you need calendar features, DO NOT use Nylas.

Effortless esp integration with nylas

Pros

The ESP integration was simple and fast, and the staff was very friendly.

Cons

It's not so much about it, but going through the process to get verified by Google or Microsoft is extremely painful. It would be great if there were a faster way to get verified. If it could assist companies in speeding up that process, it would be a huge help. Also, some of the documentation is outdated and hasn't been updated in a while.

Your complete email solution in one place

Pros

The universal email endpoints and the quick setup and launch process were incredibly helpful. It made navigating the Google Audit process much faster and easier.

Cons

We had some major system changes. They were well communicated but it's never ideal to have to change your architecture.

User-friendly platform for multi-calendar provider integration

Pros

It only took us a few weeks to implement calendar support in our app with a small team. The integration with Google Calendar, Office365 and Outlook was seamless, and the Typescript/NodeJS support was excellent. Plus the data center is based in the EU.

Cons

The onboarding process involves too many people, having just one main point of contact would be much more efficient. The virtual events don't fully support the availability API, and the calendar APIs aren't updated frequently enough.
