Overall good tool

Pros

It's super easy for me to take and organize notes which really helps me get my thoughts in order.

Cons

It can be a bit tricky to use, especially if you're new to organizing and note-taking apps.

Exactly the notes app I've needed

Pros

It gives me full control over all my notes. I can save my markdown files wherever I want and depending on the devices I'm using, I can even set up my own sync solution without paying for Obsidian's subscription (although I do need to pay for sync if I'm using iOS). If I ever decide to switch to another Markdown app, I can just move my files. I sync my notes through Google Drive, so I can access them on both my desktop and my Android phone. For vaults I don't need to sync or want to keep offline, I can store them anywhere on my computer.

Cons

I'm not thrilled about having to pay for sync to access my notes on iOS but I can't really complain since Obsidian allows DIY syncing. The only reason it doesn't work on iOS is because of how Apple's OS is set up which isn't Obsidian's fault. Plus the subscription price is pretty reasonable. Personally I use Obsidian just for myself, so I don't need to collaborate with anyone else. If you want to use it with multiple people, that might be a bit more complicated.

Awesome but a bit tricky

Pros

What I love most is the design and overall look of the app. It's beautifully laid out and just feels great to use.

Cons

It is difficult to use. I was a little confused about where the actual vaults are stored at first.

Solid offline notes app

Pros

I like that it's an offline note app. It's awesome because I can access my files right on my computer without needing an internet connection.

Cons

Sometimes I have to look up which commands to use, like when I want to underline text. There isn't a button for that, so I have to use HTML.

My everyday go-to for taking notes

Pros

I love the feeling of control I get when organizing my notes. It's like managing my "second brain," and it makes everything more structured.

Cons

I wish I could organize things more freely, like I can in Word but I get that Obsidian isn't really set up for that kind of flexibility.

Managing personal information

Pros

It is free to use and I sync it across all my devices using iCloud. It's an amazing way to store tons of information and link everything together. Before, I used to store bits and pieces in different note apps and would forget where I put them.

Cons

There's a learning curve, especially if you're not familiar with markdown language but the plugins you can add really help make things easier. It's not too different from how Notion works.

Great app I've used for notes

Pros

Obsidian is hands down the best note-taking app I've used. The ability to connect notes and turn them into my own personal wiki is super useful.

Cons

The community is a bit overwhelming because there are so many plugins to choose from. It can get a little out of hand at times.

Hands down the best app

Pros

It's super easy for me to take and edit notes. Plus, it was a huge help when I imported and read markdown notes I'd exported from Mac Notes.

Cons

The markdown-based syntax takes a bit of time to get used to but once you do, it's not too bad.

Definitely my favorite app

Pros

What I've really loved while using this app is the endless customization options and all the plugins available. I can do anything from the most specific tasks to general ones. The aesthetic customization is also great, I can tweak settings within the app or even use my own CSS files. And the community is amazing, too. Since it's mostly open-source, anyone can pitch in to improve things whether it's developing plugins, themes or systems for better use.

Cons

One of the biggest downsides of Obsidian is that in large vaults, it can slow down a lot and sometimes moving between different notes feels slow. It can also be a bit challenging for new users because there are so many options to explore.

Ideal for document organization

Pros

The way the links are visualized really makes them easy to understand which is perfect when I need to explain a project to a new team member.

Cons

I can't access Obsidian through a web browser, so I have to connect from my device every time I want to use it which can be a little annoying.

Clean and modern interface

Pros

This knowledge management software is super aesthetic and modern and it's really easy to use. I love that it makes using markdown to format my content so simple. It also makes splitting content between folders and notes easy.

Cons

Some of the great features are locked behind a paywall, which can be frustrating, but I get it. It would be nice if basic things like cloud sync were available for free.

Perfect for knowledge management

Pros

I really liked how data is linked using brackets, it makes constructing complex articles much easier especially when dealing with abstract information that needs to be broken down for better understanding.

Cons

I don't like that you have to pay for multi-device syncing. I think it should be a one-time payment instead of a subscription.
