Awesome voting features

Pros

The voting features and quiz slides work really well, including both long-answer and short-answer response formats.

Cons

Mind maps and splitting participants into smaller subgroups could be improved.

Wide range of question types

Pros

Putting questions together goes quickly and there's a wide range of question types to choose from. Some of the formats take a bit of technical know-how to get exactly the result you want but the support team is very responsive and really helps you finalize what you need.

Cons

Questions always have to be linked to a folder. There isn't a general question bank available to build a custom questionnaire more freely.

Wonderful features

Pros

It feels very simple and it offers some really valuable features to boost audience participation during an event, webinar or conference. The ability to customize different interaction formats is a big advantage. On top of that, joining the platform is very simple for users which makes the overall experience even better.

Cons

It could improve its real-time tracking of how many users are connected to a session which would allow a more accurate view of participation levels. A fully developed whiteboard module would also be a strong addition to the platform.

Keeps students involved

Pros

Creating polls, word clouds, mock quiz questions and brainstorming activities in it is simple and it makes class participation feel more interactive and enjoyable for students. It helps keep students involved during lectures, especially those who are usually quieter and less likely to speak up. In course evaluations, students often specifically mention how much they appreciated and enjoyed having WooClap included in the class.

Cons

it can feel a little complex when trying to integrate it directly into PowerPoint lectures as a utility. It has worked better for me when I use it as a standalone tool instead.

Offers good variety of question types

Pros

There's a really good variety of question types and interactions available, fill-in-the-blank, identifying something on an image, polls, multiple-choice questions, video, matching and more.

Cons

The design could be a bit more playful. It would also be nice to have a stronger game-style option like a challenge mode, to create more of a Kahoot-style experience if wanted.

Clean interface for everyone

Pros

Both the participant side and the admin side have a very simple interface which makes the platform pleasant to use.

Cons

A limitation is the extra time option in polls, you can only click to add more time without choosing a specific amount. It would be much more helpful to have preset options like +15, +30, +60 or +120 seconds.

Valuable Powerpoint integration

Pros

Having it built right into PowerPoint through the add-in is really convenient and putting together question banks is simple and efficient.

Cons

Responses to Wooclap questions don't display very well inside PowerPoint when printing to PDF or sharing slides afterward, even though they work perfectly during live sessions.

Encourages interaction between teachers and students

Pros

It really helps diversify the way I communicate with students. Since they tend to lose focus during long stretches, this gives me a good way to vary teaching methods and check their understanding as the lesson progresses. Wooclap encourages interaction between teachers and students, helps capture their attention and keeps them engaged. Because today's students are very comfortable with technology, they're also much more willing to participate when tools like Wooclap are available to them.

Cons

Setting up questions directly from a PowerPoint is a bit less simple at first. I'm also still getting used to the keyboard shortcuts so I can switch more fluidly between the presentation, the questions and the results shown on screen. At times, I still fumble a little.

Fun and enjoyable experience

Pros

The playful, interactive side is something participants really enjoy. This software has helped us make our remote training sessions much more engaging and appealing. We also really value the option to create questionnaires that participants can complete at their own pace.

Cons

Questionnaire exports are not always very clear and there are quite a few display bugs.

easy to log in

Pros

The interactive features and variety of participation options really stand out. Logging in is simple and the platform is very simple to use for both teachers and students.

Cons

The data visualization could be much better. It would also help to have more ways to collect, manage and use the data, along with more question types. Slide integration especially needs work, the PowerPoint integration is the worst I've ever dealt with.

Centralized solution

Pros

With more than 300 trainers on our side, we needed a tool that was simple to use while still offering plenty of options for more advanced users. I really value the PowerPoint integration because it lets the trainer stay in the same presentation environment instead of switching back and forth between the polling tool and the slides. Everything happens in one single place which is a big plus.

Cons

After asking a question, I never received a reply, either through the chat or by email. Other than that, nothing else to report.

Useful for building out training sessions

Pros

It's really useful for building out training sessions when you have slide display tools, images, instant evaluation features and participant feedback all in one place. That makes the whole experience much more valuable.

Cons

The competition mode feels less lively and dynamic compared with quiz platforms like Kahoot.

Interactive and playful training tool

Pros

We use it across all of our training sessions and it's genuinely very simple to use while creating a high level of interaction with learners. It adds a truly fun and engaging element to training for all kinds of audiences, especially since the interface is so simple to handle.

Cons

It would be a real bonus if it were possible to start from existing quizzes, surveys and similar content.

Feels natural

Pros

Getting started with it is incredibly simple and using it feels very natural. There's really no need for training because everything is so user-friendly from the start.

Cons

Since the overall experience is so positive, the only real thing left is hoping for even more features to be added.

Everything in one platform

Pros

Being able to question my trainees, correct their answers live and manage all the quizzes as well as the satisfaction surveys on the same platform is really valuable.

Cons

reporting features for quizzes and questionnaires are still lacking. It would be useful to add the option to generate individual, collective or group reports for trainees because right now the platform only provides overall PDF reports.

Includes multiple-choice quizzes, image labeling, matching exercises

Pros

It gives my medical students a very interactive way to practice with multiple-choice quizzes, image labeling, matching exercises, flashcards and more. It's simple to use and they can train without necessarily having to create an account which is really convenient.

Cons

A few features could still be improved. Some Wooflash question types are not available in Wooclap and there are occasional export/import issues between Wooflash and Wooclap.

Broad variety of poll formats

Pros

Everything is very easy to use and the variety of poll formats lets me introduce the topic before launching the vote while keeping everything in the same flow. Having the entire process happen in one place is really important because it helps avoid losing respondents along the way.

Cons

For live polls, needing an extremely reliable network is difficult to manage. Handling the main host device is doable but controlling all of the participants' devices on-site is simply not possible. Not every event venue has strong Wi-Fi and some spaces even block 4G/5G reception like a dead zone.
