Versatile question types and clear insights

Pros

Feels very simple from the start. It includes a wide range of question formats that have been especially useful for me, including matching, find-on-image and word clouds. I also really value the option for students to explain their choices in multiple-choice questions. The results are presented in a way that makes them very simple for instructors to review and interpret.

Cons

Compared with Moodle, Wooclap is not as complete when it comes to file sharing. It also requires students to have access to a smartphone or laptop in order to take part.

Well-designed platform

Pros

Right away, the design felt polished and the platform was very simple to use. I especially enjoy using it with my team to create quizzes together.

Cons

Honestly, nothing specific comes to mind because I really enjoy the features overall. If I had to mention one thing, it's that you do need an internet connection to use it.

Fantastic for interactive teaching

Pros

Creating interactive questions with it was simple right from the start. It has become the most widely used tool at our university and the thing I appreciate most is how rich the pedagogical possibilities are. There's a strong variety of question types, including options that let students explain the reasoning behind their multiple-choice answers. Compared with traditional clickers, it's much more practical and convenient.

Cons

From time to time, I'd still like to see more visual customization for certain question types, especially to match them more precisely with my course branding. It would also be helpful to have a few more comparative reports available for following student progress over a longer period.

covers a wide variety of use cases

Pros

It felt far more complete than Kahoot while still being very simple to use. The interface is thoughtfully designed and covers a wide variety of use cases without feeling confusing. Since I work in a large insurance group, I needed something dependable and Wooclap matched my requirements better than other options I considered, including Kahoot, Poll Everywhere and Klaxoon.

Cons

At first, I was hoping to find a free solution but none of the free tools were at the same standard as Wooclap. On top of that, I needed full feature access and had strict security requirements which meant I ultimately had to go with the paid version.

Fits every situation

Pros

Whether it's a quick quiz, an open-ended question to get the discussion going again, a brainstorming activity to build something together or even a quick check to see if everyone understood, it fits every situation. I no longer have to switch back and forth between different tools because everything I need is in one place.

Cons

There are a lot of options so it's not always obvious where to look at first. Some features are a bit hidden too and I've discovered them gradually over time. Still, nothing really gets in the way.

Engaging quizzes boost class participation

Pros

Using it in a university class made participation feel much more active for both students and professors. The quiz feature is especially helpful for quickly checking how well the class understands the material.

Cons

It really depends on having a strong Wi-Fi connection which can be difficult in large classes where more than a hundred students are all trying to access the site at the same time.

Helpful feedback questions

Pros

Using it in class has led to a lot of fun and engaging moments with my students. The interactive activities and feedback questions are especially helpful and add real value to the experience.

Cons

One thing missing in Wooclap is a mobile app which would make it much more convenient to moderate events from my phone while presenting on my PC. I'd also love to see more question formats added like crosswords and word searches, to make sessions even more interactive.

complex navigation

Pros

Classes feel a lot more interactive with it and it does a good job of getting students involved. It helps make sessions more lively and the range of question types keeps participation up and holds students' attention.

Cons

Getting around the platform could be more user-friendly, especially the first time using it. A few features aren't immediately clear and moving between the different options can feel a little awkward and complex.

Smooth integrations

Pros

Connecting it with PowerPoint, Zoom, MS Teams, Google Slides and the Moodle LMS is very convenient. The custom labels are also useful for sorting student questions and managing as well as answering those questions is simple and well organized.

Cons

A reliable internet connection is required for the tool to work properly.

Gives all students equal chances

Pros

I really appreciate how it gives quieter or shy students a chance to participate instead of only hearing from the same confident few. It's also very simple to set up and students can start using it without any trouble.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind at the moment.

Customizable solution

Pros

It gives me several ways to tailor the initial input I share with students which makes lessons feel more adaptable. It also offers a wide range of resources and I can embed images, videos and presentations without any hassle.

Cons

The pricing is quite high. Since I live in a country where teachers do not earn much, that becomes a major obstacle to dealing with.

Can handle a huge number of participants

Pros

Creating questionnaires, sharing them and running them is really simple. It also handles a huge number of participants without any trouble at all, even for remote training sessions with up to 1,800 people.

Cons

It's a bit disappointing that in competition mode you can't shuffle the questions in a quiz or add upbeat music to make it more dynamic. I also feel it's missing an automatic option to display the ranking after each question or every five questions for example because that would be a big motivator for learners.

Performs well in classroom and remote settings

Pros

Having the co-created work from participants collected automatically during our Sales and Negotiations sessions has been really useful. It performs well both in the classroom and in remote settings which makes it reliable no matter how the session is delivered.

Cons

Managing the organization of different events could be improved and having a drag-and-drop option for files shared for download would make things much more convenient.

Live questions and group discussion

Pros

Being able to ask questions live and then discuss them with the group was something I really appreciated.

Cons

At the beginning, it wasn't very user-friendly to use and there are still some features I don't fully understand. I would need a tutorial to get started more comfortably.

Real-time quiz feedback in class

Pros

Ability to see quiz results live in class with students is really useful and makes the session much more interactive.

Cons

It's not very practical for creating chemistry quizzes, especially when it comes to writing equations. We usually end up using images instead but then the layout looks pretty bad on smartphones so that part really isn't ideal.

Offers a lot of flexibility

Pros

Compared with Mentimeter, it works much better across different audiences. It offers a lot of flexibility, especially for technical projects. It also performs really well in multiple languages which is a big advantage. I often use it in a bilingual format, with the English question shown alongside the translated version on the same slide. That setup is behd useful, especially in technical contexts where other languages do not always capture the same level of detail as English. It fits well not only for students but also for business use and technical project environments.

Cons

Being able to integrate a PowerPoint presentation into Wooclap is an excellent feature. The downside is that any animations included in the PowerPoint slides do not appear during the presentation which makes that option harder to use effectively.

Huge timesaver

Pros

Using it has been a real time-saver, especially because creating questionnaires is so simple and quick. I also really value the option to add downloadable files, video links and asynchronous questionnaires alongside live voting which adds a lot of value to my sessions.

Cons

The report layout could still be improved since pages are sometimes split in awkward places.
