Good product - room for growth

Pros

The integrated systems and how easy they are to use really stand out. I appreciate being able to modify functions as needed.

Cons

The process repeats itself and the link with candy could use some improvement.

Journey to mastering buildsmart

Pros

As a quantity surveyor, I value the convenience of quickly obtaining the specific reports I need with ease.

Cons

Some reports are a bit tricky to access. It would be helpful to have video clips explaining common questions instead of having to set up a meeting.

Cons

It keeps logging me out! I can't stay on BuildSmart for the full 50 minutes; it kicks me out every 5 minutes.

RIB BuildSmart Review

Pros

Some features, like debtor invoicing, bank reconciliations, and journals, are simple to use.

Cons

Changing dates and periods is tough. I can't drill down, write reports, or edit transactions after posting. The procedures for month-end, year-end, debtors, ledger, and subcontractors are way too complicated compared to other accounting systems. The payroll is not nearly as good as other payroll software and needs a lot more programming.

Not designed by accountants

Pros

Once the system is up and running, setting up and capturing multiple contracts is a relatively straightforward process. It's efficient and doesn't require a lot of effort, making it easy to manage several contracts simultaneously without hassle. This feature simplifies the workflow, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Cons

The stock module is overly meticulous. Financial reports are not standardized across periods.

Superb Software from RIB!!

Pros

The software's ability to drill down to contract and activity levels is impressive. The live system allows for up-to-the-minute reporting.

Cons

The cashbook isn't as intuitive as traditional accounting packages, but it's still decent for a cost accounting system. I do like the park and post functions.

PROCUREMENT

Pros

The interface is intuitive for attaching quotes and escalating them for approval through various stages, ensuring everyone is aware of procurements. It's also simple to insert prices and suppliers and extract requisitions into an Excel sheet.

Cons

The reporting system is not very effective. For instance, if I need a report on items procured for a specific job, BuildSmart doesn't have that option; I have to pull the project items and then select them for the specific job. Adding this feature would make BuildSmart great.

Efficient review

Pros

It is so simple to navigate that it lets you amend and correct your processing without restarting everything. It also allows for reviewing and making changes.

Cons

I have to input most data manually, so it would be great if there was a way to import data, like bank statements, directly into the system.

Build Smart Daily experience

Pros

It's a key part of our daily operations and project control, especially with its integration with CANDY. It's the best place to instantly access any historical data or records.

Cons

The reports section still needs improvement, especially when exporting to Excel. You might struggle to make the report look presentable.

Pros

I've had a great experience with it. It manages budgets and monitors project accounts easily, facilitates monthly closures, and is an excellent tool for calculating costs and tracking project purchases.

Buildsmart not worth it

Pros

There is not much positive to say about Buildsmart, maybe unless you're in construction.

Cons

It's not finance-friendly. The system quality is poor with many duplications in the setup. The price doesn't match the quality of the system you receive. It's not very intuitive.

Best for Construction Industry

Pros

The quick setup and supportive team always go the extra mile to ensure I reach my goals.

Cons

Integrating with OneDrive is a bad idea. Don't add a network datapath; use local drive Candy files instead.

Intergartion

Pros

Given my site-focused role, Buildsmart's integration with the Candy Cost and Allowable application is incredibly powerful.

Cons

The accruals capturing can be incorrect and lead to false reporting. The last summary page showing profit is incorrect in the construction environment because it doesn't account for adjustments, provisions, or contract rate loadings. It will only be accurate at the end of the project.
