“Buildup
Pros
I appreciate how easy it is to write and send updates to my subcontractors and forward them to my superiors. I like adding photos to the text to illustrate the details myself.
Cons
It used to be unreliable online, even though I have a perfect setup. I hope these are minor issues.

Pros
After using this program on our latest project and sorting out a few issues, I found it to be an excellent way to compile, manage, and track all our lists and problems. It also helped our contractors complete their work thoroughly and document it well.
Cons
The speech recognition feature could use some improvement.

“Buildup is easy to navigate, creates punch lists in record time.
Pros
It generates a punch list with pictures that's precise. Monitoring trades' responses to issues is easy. The closeout process is simple, with options for acceptance signatures and printing.
Cons
Nothing major! The app does drain the batteries on mobile devices quickly, so I always carry backup batteries.

“Great potential to become a regular tool in project management.
Pros
I love having a live punch list for a project that can be shared with my team. It's great to see when one of my team members has already dealt with an issue, and I have photo evidence that it was done correctly. The feature to set and adjust deadlines is also very useful, so everyone knows what to expect. You can set a standard timeframe of "7 days to complete," and the due date adjusts automatically to 7 days from when the issue is entered. The app's interface is neat, and applying a single issue to multiple project locations or crews saves time on data entry. Customer service was responsive and informed me that my feedback addressed several items being updated. They seemed genuinely interested, and I look forward to those updates.
Cons
It's challenging to share with less tech-savvy teams, and it's frustrating that you can't remove or edit a photo attached to an issue in the mobile app. Sometimes I pick the wrong image, and Customer Service confirmed this feature is being developed. It would be helpful if the photos were also stored locally on my phone (even at a lower resolution) for quick reference without reopening the app. For less tech-savvy crews, we have to use printed formats. However, these formats either make the photos too small to be useful or include unnecessary data columns, wasting paper. Being able to customize a printed issues report would be a great addition. The crews benefit most from seeing the issue, reading its description, and knowing its location on the project, which is what a printed report should focus on. The UI could use some more refinement.

“Phenomenal tool for tracking punch work but brutally cumbersome/rigid when crafting reports or
Pros
Buildup is a highly effective tool for recording and tracking punch work through its app. It allows you to easily mark an issue, take a photo, categorize it, and follow up with another photo once it's resolved. I mainly use the app to manage punch list items on large-scale construction projects, which can number in the hundreds or thousands. It's also easy to retitle, move, or duplicate issues across different buildings or crews. This app is fantastic for streamlining the punch process.
Cons
Buildup would be much more useful if I could do everything from my phone. The app is incredibly clunky. It's great for recording information but terrible for using that info. I can't add or edit brackets like buildings or units from my phone, nor mark progress degrees on issues, only if they are completed. The website is tough to use. Information doesn't always display consistently. After logging in, the website shows a data breakdown that's not customizable and doesn't help in understanding my issues. The app's biggest flaw is its lack of utility in handling data. Reports aren't customizable and are only good for telling crews what issues need attention, not for reporting or presenting to clients about the project's status. I can't rearrange columns, enlarge photos on reports, select specific info for reports, or export data to Excel or Word to create my own report. I often have to re-record entire buildings' worth of data just to make a report with the exact information in Buildup.

“Very easy to use this software. Really saves time because the items are sent to subcontractors
Pros
It's simple to use and pinpoint exactly where issues are. Subcontractors get updated daily, and reviewing and closing out items is easy.
Cons
Sometimes, there are problems viewing pictures when not connected to WiFi, and the app can lag without a WiFi connection.

“Love it for punching out and all of my subcontractors love it to
Pros
The app is intuitive, and all my subcontractors receive daily emails. They can easily find the area by looking at the pictures, and it's very simple to print out for those who don't want to download it on their phones.
Cons
I often need to go back and re-record entire buildings' worth of items just to create a report with the exact information already in Buildup.

“Simple interface for entering items. Simple to use in field for creating lists. Needs Refinement.
Pros
I like the ability to take photos and input tasks in the field, with that information becoming available immediately. Searching and filtering tasks through the browser is straightforward, and printing reports is quick, though mobile printing isn't an option. The concept is excellent, and it's become a regular part of our company's workflow.
Cons
There are a few things that could improve this app. The main issue is its unreliable web connectivity. Sorting and filtering are great, but it can be a bit clunky while refreshing. Editing printable forms would also be beneficial. We rely heavily on the photos we take, but printed reports sometimes make it hard to see the items clearly. It would be great to capture and display before-and-after pictures by choice. Adding AREAS, UNITS, etc., from mobile and printing from mobile would also be useful.

“One of the easiest ways to do your punch list.
Pros
You can attach photos to your punch list, and sending emails to subcontractors is easy. Our subs find it simple to understand, with minimal items needed to complete the punch list. Just pull up the building, the unit, and start typing and taking pictures.
Cons
The app sometimes lags when used without a WiFi connection.

“After the initial hiccups, Great.
Pros
The app is easy to use. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you're familiar with it, it's very accommodating. You can switch to the desktop version to edit or adjust options to suit your needs. I love being able to take photos and annotate them to better highlight issues.
Cons
It wasn't so much an active issue, but early on the program had many bugs that needed fixing. There were several times when we had to get support due to the app freezing and shutting down, but those problems have been resolved, and the program is now excellent.

“it was very difficult and slow to use. This was our Client's software and they had same experience.
Pros
I like the ability to insert photos into line items while describing the deficiency and being able to view and sort reports online easily.
Cons
The interface can be slow and awkward. It sometimes saves things when I don't want to and doesn't save things when I do need to, causing it to lose line items. It also tends to lock up often or lose internet connectivity.

“Buildup is a great tool to collaborate in real-time across a large project.
Pros
Buildup is easy to use in the field, and the mobile app is great. Identifying issues accurately is simple. You can show where the issue is by unit, drop a pin, and take a photo to communicate what you're seeing in the field. Data processing is very easy with many filtering options, commenting on every issue, and a smooth approval process between the Subcontractor, GC, and Consultants.
Cons
The filtering options are good, but custom reports could be improved. This would make architects, engineers, and consultants like the app more. Tracking general or recurring issues could be better; the list becomes cluttered quickly when adding issues to many units. Notifications aren't very customizable, and most people on-site don't look at the general emailed reports.

“While in the beginning Buildup was a bit buggy and laggy, it has since changed and very useful.
Pros
It tracks punch items efficiently. Filters make it easy to select contractors. Photo documentation is a great feature, and sending a deficiency list is very simple.
Cons
The app drains the battery quickly. Occasionally, force closures can be annoying, and sometimes the camera won't activate. It's easy for trades to falsify corrected items.

“Buildup has allowed my construction team and I accurately track issues and close out items.
Pros
It is easy to log an issue in Buildup, from describing the problem to adding the photo. It's so simple that it actually makes doing a punch list enjoyable, without needing to carry pen and paper while climbing roofs and ladders.
Cons
It would be helpful if there were a more intuitive way to assign a universal issue to multiple buildings or parts of a construction project.
