Our business has never been controlled more efficiently and fluently.
Our business has never been controlled more efficiently and fluently.
Pros
Buildxact has a lot going for it, but the ease of use and integration into my business were the highlights that made me a long-term customer. Weve integrated it into our daily operations by using task scheduling and construction management. It has amazing integration with Xero accounting software. And I love that I can access it from anywhere I want. Buildxact is more than just a tool for rapidly and easily producing professional, precise estimates. Its fantastic to be able to follow a job from beginning to end, comparing estimated and real costs and applying the results to future estimations.
Cons
I have issues with the fonts that they have chosen for the software. Quotations are great, but the fonts seem inconsistent as they are a mix of two different font types for no beneficial reason. It is quite annoying, in my opinion. I also have a suggestion: I think a subcontractor call-up system would be wonderful, where once we schedule, we can send a group email to our contacts by clicking through a list of contacts, and they will receive an email with a link to accept or decline the required date.

My absolute choice, Buildxact.
My absolute choice, Buildxact.
Pros
Buildxact is a straightforward yet effective tool for job management and estimation. I have been managing my leads with it ever since I switched. It also has excellent pre-built recipes, which, combined with the takeoff tools, simplify complicated processes. The tutorials are great and have helped me easily create my own recipes.
Cons
If there is one thing they could do better, it would be to make it easier to customize the quotation cover properly. The editing tool is very advanced, so much so that we needed assistance from one of the trainers to fully utilize it.

Easy to use and not just for construction
Easy to use and not just for construction
Pros
I have been using it for real estate and marketing and not providing building services but still find BuilderTrend very flexible and usable. I can add as many users I like without incurring extra charges.
Cons
Cost codes were problematic. And some issues could only be fixed through backend which we had no access to, obviously.

An overall great addition to my business
An overall great addition to my business
Pros
I love the takeoff tool within the estimating section. Its so easy to convert quotes to a project.
Cons
You have to pay per user which is frustrating and gets expensive. I sometimes have to accommodate temporary users and would appreciate if there was a package that would cover 5-10 users at least.

Had to leave after recent software update
Had to leave after recent software update
Pros
The software used to be great. Photos could be easily uploaded and it was formatted beautifully with categories and subcategories.
Cons
As soon as we saw what the new update would look like we immediately started looking for other software. New update omitted the ability to organize each estimate. Cant see anymore which items have POs or not.

Estimate writing is much easier and more reliable
Estimate writing is much easier and more reliable
Pros
It allows me to present my quotes chronologically and the ability to add categories and item lines neatly is a cherry on top. It may sound simple, but it allows to add a line wherever I want which is priceless.
Cons
If I could have the option to total out individual items like labor and material it would be great. It just gives you the overall total sum.
