Works great for me

Pros

I really like that all of my projects are kept in one place at the same time which makes it so much easier for us to manage everything from one location instead of jumping around different tools.

Cons

Honestly, there isn't much about Chalkstring that I don't like. Maybe I'd just prefer if updates were rolled out a little more often during the year but that's really a small thing. I get that updates depend on input from all the users and who get a say in what changes are made, so it's not a big deal.

My experience with Chalkstring

Pros

What I appreciate the most is the accuracy of the information this software gives me especially compared to when I used to rely on manual spreadsheets that weren't always reliable.

Cons

One thing that bugs me is that it doesn't apply material price increases to just the materials that are still left to buy.

Solid tool to use

Pros

The templates are easy to use and since I use this daily, it's a quick and reliable tool that helps me get tendering done accurately without wasting time.

Cons

Since It keeps growing every year, we've been giving a lot of feedback on future features and I have to say they've implemented a lot of it already. So I can't really complain about that. The only thing I find tricky is the way the BoQ is presented and it's not the same way most housing companies present it. To work around it, I've been creating an Excel sheet to export and show it in our preferred format. I'm pretty confident this will get sorted out in the future. The QS side of it is also a bit difficult to use and it doesn't line up with how most companies would like to see it.
