“COI tracking made effortless”
Pros
It has made collecting COIs from subcontractors for every project much more efficient. We're not stuck spending tons of time following up with people through endless emails anymore.
Cons
Getting around the platform was a little confusing at first because some things were hard to locate and it's also frustrating that I can't delete a file when a subcontractor uploads the wrong one.

“Flexible communication and support”
Pros
I really appreciate that they don't pressure us into unnecessary meetings or insist on having more of them than needed.
Cons
The one issue that stuck with me was a time when the help desk didn't understand what I was asking for and I ended up needing to reach out to my account manager directly to get it taken care of.

“Keeps us informed about contracts”
Pros
Using it has been simple and it does a good job of keeping us informed about which contracts still need more review and attention.
Cons
I'd still want more reminders being sent out.

“solid contract tracking, awkward formatting”
Pros
Our team relies on it strictly for contracts and POs and it does that part well. The contract organization is helpful, the COI tracking feature is useful and editing contracts within the system works nicely.
Cons
That said, the platform feels complex and not quite user-friendly enough. More recently, DEP raised a concern that when a subcontractor signed a document, the signature appeared in the middle of the line instead of above it. The resident engineer is admittedly very particular about formatting but it was still an issue I couldn't really explain beyond saying that's just how Constrafor places signatures.

“Digitized our processes”
Pros
It does a really good job of moving the whole certificate tracking process into a digital format across the board which makes managing everything much more convenient.
Cons
Not being able to set baseline submission requirements by level is annoying. If that were available, each subcontractor could clearly see in real time the minimum coverage or policy amounts they need to meet. Another downside is that the system does not allow partial submissions. Even submitting something is better than nothing and that limitation can discourage subcontractors from actually using the platform.

“Everything in one place”
Pros
Keeping payroll, jobsite data and tracking in one place has been really valuable and helps keep things organized day to day.
Cons
Equipment tracking could use some improvement, especially when it comes to assigning equipment to specific operators. It would also help to have the option to edit selected people together instead of only changing everyone or no one.

“Simple data entry”
Pros
Getting information into the system is very simple and having the ability to capture everything we need has been a big plus.
Cons
No issues to mention at this point since we're still in the testing phase and using the program to determine whether it fits our requirements.

“Simplifies our contract negotiations”
Pros
It has really helped simplify our contract negotiations along with subcontractor onboarding and ongoing management. We are not even using all of its features yet but it already feels like a platform that can grow alongside our company as our needs expand.
Cons
The toughest part of using Constrafor has been getting subcontractors fully on board with it. We often end up guiding contractors through the process ourselves which can be challenging and time-consuming. The interface and the messaging could also be clearer and more user-friendly.

“Interface makes sense”
Pros
The interface is simple, readable and really easy to sort through. I also appreciated how closely they worked with us and stayed involved throughout the entire process.
Cons
Any issues we ran into with the service have already been taken care of so at this point I don't have any complaints.

“COI tracking on autopilot”
Pros
Across all my projects, it has given me a simple way to gather and monitor Certificates of Insurance in one place. Instead of digging through each project folder and chasing down different subcontractor COIs to check when they expire, I can see everything organized clearly on the platform. It also keeps track of expiration dates and sends email reminders to both my subcontractors and me which helps make sure renewals happen on time. Getting alerts as far as 90 days in advance means I do not have to stress about a sub's insurance lapsing and I can spend more time focusing on the actual project details while COI tracking basically runs itself.
Cons
This is more of a personal preference than a major issue but I would like to see the full COI listing condensed a bit. When you are managing a lot of projects, that list can become pretty long. That said, the company is still in an early stage and they have been responsive and open to feedback whenever I have reached out.

“Adapts well”
Pros
It has adapted really well to the way we work and has brought a much clearer view into our supply chain. The platform is simple to navigate and managing everything in it has been very simple. I'm also looking forward to seeing how upcoming features and technology from their roadmap continue to improve the way we handle risk across the organization.
Cons
Since the company is still relatively young, it is going up against well-established legacy competitors in the market.
