“Efficient but gets slow at times

Pros

I do not really use the full HCSS side of things but for generating reports it's great. Plus getting weekly reports quickly for upper management has been a big help.

Cons

Running reports can get really slow sometimes especially when a lot of people are logged in at the same time. On top of that I don't enjoy having to go through a remote session just to get into it.

Pros

What I really like is how well it syncs with our payroll and other software and the smooth transition saves our team a lot of time.

Cons

This is definitely a program that requires proper training. Without it new users would struggle to just dive in and start working.

I would say it works really well and there are so many different features you can put to use.

Cons

One thing I noticed is that the system slows down because the database is huge and occasionally the integrations are tough to manage.

“Service is not the same as before

One thing I like a lot is that I can copy bids from one project to another when they are similar.

After HCSS was sold I felt like the service quality dropped a lot. I ran into several issues trying to use HCSS Dispatcher.

“Love the software, wish it cost less

Pros

It has made tracking equipment costs and repairs much easier and our sales team finds bidding jobs a lot simpler now.

Cons

The yearly upkeep costs are pretty high and I am not convinced we are getting enough value to justify spending that much.

“Feature rich tool

Pros

The best part for me is the wide range of features and functions it offers as it really covers everything I need.

Cons

From my perspective their customer support needs serious improvement.

I find the Subtotal option, Equipment Setup and item merge feature really handy and time saving for my work.

Cons

One thing I don't like is not being able to highlight or color the headers for Equipment or Local Materials.

The support team has been fantastic whenever Ive needed assistance.

Well the entire user interface feels outdated. Honestly it reminds me of Windows NT or 2000 even though it's 2022. For paid software I expected way better from HCSS. And the ESC key issue is frustrating as hitting it closes the whole window instead of just clearing a cell which can erase unsaved work. Once you figure out how to move around, it's manageable but the software still feels old and clunky.

“Tried different systems before but liked it more

Pros

It is easy to adapt the system to any kind of work and let me be honest the only limit is your creativity.

Cons

I suggested during our user meeting in Houston that the review view could be made easier to read. I was told the engineers are already working on it which is something I really like about it as they take feedback from users to improve the product.

“Pretty reliable software

Pros

Setting up crews, materials and equipment is really easy which makes building estimates much simpler for us. Even new users can pick it up quickly.

Cons

Honestly, I cannot really think of any negative.

I find the desktop app really powerful and effective which really delivers.

It sometimes glitches or crashes and figuring it out takes a while. Plus the whole layout feels very dated to me.

I don't have any big issues at this point, but there are a few minor things I could bring up.
