“Great for Our Estimators

Pros

There's nothing better than having management software handle the work for you. This estimating tool manages both large and small estimates effortlessly. I love sending quick emails for addenda, adding new subs, and simplifying the entire process.

Cons

I wish it had more integration tools, but those could be built into the program since we haven't used it as effectively as we could.

“Smartbid- Great for general contractors!

Pros

I enjoy how SmartBid streamlines the bidding process in construction. It allows you to upload drawings and specifications and easily select trades to solicit. Most bidding software is too complex for small subcontractors to understand and access documents easily, but SmartBid offers simplicity and benefits for subcontractors similar to those for general contractors. Creating takeoffs in SmartBid for the subcontractors you invite is crucial.

Cons

The only struggle with SmartBid is allowing subcontractors to change their information within the program. We'd like subcontractors to update their license information and contacts for their company. Hopefully, future updates will allow these features.

Pros

SmartBid is very helpful for distributing the Invitation to Bid to as many subs as possible, and it's easy to set up.

Cons

A major issue is being careful with the spec codes assigned to subs. Wrong codes exclude subs from the ITB. After years of use, some subs go out of business, wasting time checking which subs will bid.

Pros

This is one of the main programs I use when bidding on projects for clients. It's reliable and straightforward.

Cons

No real issues. Adding projects is simple, but accepting invitations must be done from the email address of the person invited.

Pros

The software's simplicity and appropriate level of customization are great. While there is a learning curve, it shouldn't be an issue for someone with basic computer skills. It's a fantastic product that streamlines the bid process and allows users to customize it to their needs.

Cons

Incorporating the pre-qual process and other administrative tools into the software can be clunky, but they work and require more fiddling.
