This software is fantastic for organizing all subcontractors and vendors. Editing, adding, or deleting company names and contacts is very easy. There are many categories for each company, including work types, DBE choices, and unique categories. Many fields are pre-filled, making data input quick. It offers excellent reporting, exporting, and email capabilities, whether sending single or mass emails, and provides updates for bids or just company reports.
Cons
With so many features, users might duplicate information. It's crucial to monitor what users can change within each company to avoid multiple entries. User monitoring is essential.

Searching is weak, you need to know exactly how the trade is saved or try multiple entries. Adding new contacts to trades and sending invitations for tenders is tricky. It's not very easy to use and takes time to master.

As a general contractor manager, we use SmartBid on nearly all our projects. It's a great tool for informing our subcontractors and suppliers about the projects we're bidding on, ensuring we have proper scope coverage. I was involved in the initial setup when our company started using SmartBid. We used to make a call list and call up to a few hundred subs and suppliers for every project. It's amazing how much time we used to waste! Now, with just a few clicks, all our bidding documents are in one easily accessible place, and all appropriate subs and suppliers are notified. Incredible!
Cons
The initial setup was time-consuming, partly because of our outdated subcontractor and supplier list. Most time was spent updating old contact information. There are limited user profiles, and it would be nice to have more people in our company able to interact with SmartBid.
