“First impressions with Smino
Pros
I'm missing a drag-and-drop function to quickly store attachments like plans and documents in the project.
Cons
While searching for ways to improve my work in construction management at the Digital-Bau trade fair in Munich 2023, I explored various project software solutions. The Smino presentation quickly caught my interest and made my decision straightforward.

“User-friendly and multifunctional platform
Pros
The platform handles plans and revisions with a customizable folder structure to fit the project. Cooperation protocols can be created with direct plan or photo references, and markings can be made to highlight specific issues. It's also great for listing and managing construction defects. It's good that every project member can always see the most recent plans and information on one platform, while the access settings allow for flexible control over confidential documents. Additionally, the support is highly efficient, and I get answers to my questions on the chat interface within minutes.
Cons
I found the interface layout acceptable, but it would be better if the document view window were larger to allow for more detailed examination of plans. Also, it's not possible to assign a status to a point (like open or solved) when writing a protocol.

“Very good, intuitive software for the control of planning and construction processes
Pros
The guidance is intuitive and simple. The task and protocol module is exceptionally good.
Cons
We use several products because our customers have different needs. Sometimes Smino fits well, and sometimes it doesn't, so we choose a different product accordingly.

“Really Good!
Pros
Smino helped me plan my entire project in a straightforward and collaborative way, covering all stages of the construction process.
Cons
I had to look for a solution outside of Smino, one that didn't involve their platform.

“not intuitive enough
Pros
The appearance is nice, and the protocol function is integrated.
Cons
Changes were identified and addressed at the overall project level, meaning that any adjustments or updates needed were handled across the entire project rather than just isolated parts. This approach ensures that modifications are consistently applied and evaluated throughout the entire scope of the project.

Pros
The handling of the system is quite effective and smooth, making navigation easy. I find it very easy to move through the various features and functions, with a design that supports intuitive use and efficient interaction.
Cons
There was a lack of information about a system change that happened about 2 months ago. I had to search for the files again.

“Missing Functions / Filters / Connections
Pros
Tasks, protocols, connection to plotting companies, support, scheduling message delivery, construction journal.
Cons
Setting up roles, applications, and permissions is very time-consuming, especially if an object has multiple owners with different viewing rights. - Task-oriented or model-based collaboration (BCF/IFC) isn't possible, so another platform is necessary. - Working on documents and plans simultaneously and in real time isn't possible, and seamless integration with Microsoft Windows or MacOS isn't available (ERP & DMS solutions?). - Acceptance: Assigning or filtering recorded defects to the right contractor is much too time-consuming.

“Good collaboration tool
Pros
The interface is simple and intuitive. With the apps, I can access data on different devices. The integrated preview function for PDF, DWG, and IFC models makes work easier. The ability to import BCF files saves a lot of time when creating tasks and protocols.
Cons
I miss the function to switch between projects directly from the status bar.

“Involved from the very beginning
Pros
The plan versioning is particularly good, and the new function that lets you compare plans on the platform is awesome. The tool is very efficient, and you can create a lot during a session, making it easy to send promptly.
Cons
The construction journal works quite well and easily, but it would be great if you could also create tasks immediately. Having templates to fill out every time you visit construction sites would be helpful.
