Simple yet powerful!

Pros

Stack Software is really easy to use and has a lot of power. The calendar makes it simple to organize projects by the due date. When a larger job takes longer, you can easily see whats coming up and spread them out.

Cons

Some things cant be changed. I cant modify the color or size of the default dimension.

Stack Software is the best.

Pros

I appreciate that with Stack Software I can export final documents and reports so my sales rep can see precisely what I quoted and where it was quoted. I also like that all of my work is preserved so that I may refer to it later or edit it if my objectives change.

Cons

It integrates with Excel reports, although this requires a monthly subscription from Excel.

We adore Stack Software

Pros

Its good, easy-to-operate software. Its fantastic to be able to use two displays! Its much easier for me to discover a specific detail and match it to the plan if I have one screen with the detail and another with the plan.

Cons

I dont like that measures cant be rounded to the next whole number. This is a tiny detail in the overall user experience, but they are inconvenient nonetheless. Overall, I prefer Stack to other takeoff software solutions.

Easy to work with!

Pros

With Stack Software, Its easy to be able to add labels on the takeoff.  Instead of digging through all of the blueprints, I can just eliminate one piece by using the Geometric Report.

Cons

There is no undo option, which may seem insignificant but may be really inconvenient at times.

Stack Software Review

Pros

When I specify exactly where I found each thing, it amplifies the impact of my quotes. It also helps if the plan has to be changed later.

Cons

The way takeoffs are organized may be better.

Great for takeoffs

Pros

I find this software really easy to use and excellent for takeoffs.

Cons

What bothers me is how the subscription cost keeps jumping up substantially every year and at this point it has become far too pricey.

Crucial for my work

Pros

Being able to print takeoffs with legends is an absolute necessity for me. It helps my crews stay organized and keeps them focused on exactly what needs attention every time.

Cons

I wish the product offered an integration with mapping software so I could perform takeoffs directly from high-resolution satellite imagery of properties.

Needs pay-per-use pricing option

Pros

It's an expensive tool, yet it fulfills our needs. We only pull it out for single projects and when estimating from blueprints. To be honest, I wish there were a pay-per-use choice because this price is huge for such infrequent usage.

Cons

Although pricey, the software delivers what we require. My team only employs it for one-off jobs and blueprint-based estimates. Frankly, I'd prefer a per-use pricing option because paying so much for something we rarely utilize feels like an truly excessive cost.

Reduces human errors

Pros

Using Stack has made switching to new construction projects easy for me. I used to be hunched over printed plans, sketching measurements with pencil and paper which was costly and left room for mistakes that could sink a bid. Now, it removes many of those human errors from the process and it's saved me time and stress.

Cons

I'm still trying to work out how to generate a complete bid directly from Stack without exporting to other tools.

easy to configure presets

Pros

I find it easy to configure presets and quickly start estimating for routine projects or create reusable templates.

Cons

The cost databases and construction specs aren't organized well enough for production use. It would really help if I could generate an estimate without relying on a drawing or even sketch basic floor plans directly inside Stack.

Reasonably priced

Pros

Personally, I find it affordable and simple to use. It doesn't try to be everything for everyone and it's easy to learn.

Cons

I can't imagine working without it now. I'm planning to check if there's an app available for my phone soon.

I rely on overlay feature

Pros

The overlay tool is easily the part that I find myself using most. With the volume of plan revisions for each project, being able to quickly flag any changes is essential for my team. It reduces time and significantly lowers the chances of missing changes that might lead to additional costs and delays later in the project.

Cons

Can't point to anything about it that bothers me. A number of features don't fit our trade so they sit unused, yet every tool we rely on functions exceptionally well for our needs at all.

Helpful support team

Pros

I love how simple it is to download plans and perform takeoffs. The customer support is really helpful whenever I run into a problem with a specific takeoff.

Cons

The estimating sheet feels a bit restrictive because I can't sync other line-item costs to non-measurable items, such as labor burden.

A real time-saver

Pros

I find this app extremely handy and simple to operate. Having all my takeoffs collected in a single place and easy to reach has been a real time-saver for me.

Cons

I'd love a stripped-down, lower-priced tier because the subscription price has gone up a lot over the years. I appreciate the ongoing feature additions and improvements but I only use the basic take-off capability and don't want or need the extra bells and whistles.

Outstanding customer care

Pros

Their customer service is outstanding. I genuinely appreciated how they worked with me on the payment plan and let me split the balance into two installments.

Cons

Honestly, I don't really have any complaints at this point. My team is still getting up to speed with the software so I'm not in a position to judge much yet.

Lets me create assemblies that include labor and materials

Pros

Being able to build assemblies that bundle both labor and materials is absolutely essential for how I manage and set our pricing structure.

Cons

Manually creating a number of items ends up being quite time-consuming for me and my team during busy periods.

Made us accurate

Pros

Using it's takeoff tools has made us substantially more accurate than our previous process. Because they're so user-friendly, we can dedicate more time to focusing on the critical job details that are easy to miss during the estimating phase, rather than getting bogged down in manual measurements.

Cons

I think the assemblies could use more refinement. The idea behind them is solid but in my line of work I find it's still simpler and more reliable to quantify components directly through a takeoff.
