“My go to solution!
Pros
As someone who uses it regularly, I really value being able to post a question and get answers from the broader community, it's a go-to place for useful knowledge. I also like how the reputation system acknowledges helpful contributions and motivates me to keep helping out. The tagging and categorization make it simple for me to narrow down topics and find what's relevant without digging through unrelated posts. Voting helps highlight the best answers so I don't have to wade through low-quality responses. I appreciate the collaborative editing too. When others tidy up or improve my posts, the overall content becomes clearer and more reliable. From a usability standpoint, the interface feels clean and simple which made it easy for me to get started and join discussions. On top of that, the help center and community guidelines are actually useful, they guide me when I'm unsure about how to participate and they make the site feel more approachable for newcomers like myself.
Cons
The site's core features, asking questions, getting community answers, the reputation system, tagging, voting and collaborative editing, all exist and work but they don't eliminate certain frustrations I keep running into. For one thing, the volume of content is staggering. With millions of questions and answers, I often find it hard to locate exactly what I need without filtering through a ton of noise. Related to that, the overall quality can be inconsistent. While many contributors are very knowledgeable, not every answer is accurate or up-to-date so I can't always take a response at face value. Even with tags and votes, important or niche answers sometimes get buried. The site's guidance and interface help new users get started yet these issues mean I still spend extra time verifying and cross-checking information rather than getting a quick, reliable solution every time.

“Reasonable pricing
Pros
Because it's cloud-based, I can easily access, manage and share information from anywhere. That convenience is a big plus for me. I also feel the platform is secure and dependable, there are multiple security measures in place that seem to keep our data protected which gives me peace of mind. The interface itself is simple and approachable, with menus and options that are easy to understand. In addition, I appreciate the fairly broad range of integrations that allow me to connect other services and adjust workflows to fit our needs. Finally, the pricing is reasonable. I was able to choose from plans targeted at individual users or businesses that fit the budget without costing a fortune.
Cons
I do wish Stack had more advanced features. Compared with heavyweights like Salesforce it feels a bit light on functionality. It also doesn't offer as many third-party integrations as some other platforms I've used so I sometimes have to find workarounds. People who aren't used to cloud services may find the interface a little tricky to get around at first. Another drawback for me is there's no free trial, if I want to try it out I have to commit to buying a plan.

“Very well-organized and reasonably priced.
Pros
It is so fun to use Stack. Ive been an unofficial brand ambassador for them and mention it to anyone I work with, like our contractors and other client companies. It has boosted our businesss efficiency and helped us transition into a truly paperless workflow. Stack is really simple to use. We were able to go from pen and paper to completely on Stack in less than a month. It is easy to learn and train new employees, and it is generally very well organized. The "plans" and "takeoff" tabs are really simple to use and extremely effective. They are also regularly improving Stack and are always open to suggestions.
Cons
It is not complicated to learn Stack, but the software is built very differently than what I’ve used before. Some of the elements in the reports and estimates sections can be intimidating for new employees. Thankfully, Stack is aware of this and works constantly to upgrade and alter them to make them easier to use and more efficient. Id like the pricing in the reports and estimates to be consistent when split down because the prices in the subsection reports are rounded up in each individual room, but the unit costs are rounded up from a total amount in the job. This is just something I face; the software overall is very capable.

“Professional support and comprehensive library
Pros
I found it to be great right from the start. The software genuinely feels well-crafted, the interface is user-friendly and there's a comprehensive, customizable library of parts and assemblies that I can customize to my needs. From any PC I can perform quick and easy takeoffs which speeds up my workflow. The developers get solid support and are constantly addressing a long list of user suggestions. Support here is exceptional. STACK specialists are easy to reach and the frequent updates, webinars and one-on-one training sessions keep me informed about changes and offer practical guidance on maximizing the software. I genuinely appreciate their proactive approach to improvements.
Cons
I'm disappointed by several things. Functionality feels limited and in my experience it's been the worst takeoff software I've used. Worse still, I feel like I encountered people on staff who promised callbacks after taking my money and then never followed through, there's no refund policy to protect me. Adding a second user didn't bring a discount. Instead they wanted to charge me almost double. Because of these issues, it was hard for me to get a clear sense of the real benefits Stack might offer during the trial period.

“Love the layover feature
Pros
I'm a big fan of the layover feature for handling modify orders. I truly value being able to display the same project across multiple monitors at once so I can closely check the finer details.
Cons
It's really annoying when I make a mistake because there isn't an undo option so I end up deleting the whole takeoff and starting again. I wish there were a ctrl-Z style undo feature that would prevent having to redo everything.

“Price hike and poor service
Pros
At first I thought the cost was fair for performing drawing takeoffs but then the price suddenly and without justification shot up.
Cons
They pulled the increased charge from my account with no warning and when I asked for a refund they wouldn't process it. Their customer support barely responds and I can find much better, much cheaper alternatives. Plus it doesn't produce industry-standard codes or format outputs in the way the trade expects.

“Lets me handle multiple tasks
Pros
I can handle multiple tasks all within a single window which keeps my workflow tidy. It's quick to move around and gives precise results and I find it simple to learn and use, takeoffs especially are made both simple and fast.
Cons
No offline version available which limits me when I'm without internet. I also wish an Undo command would be added in future updates so I can quickly revert mistakes.

“One of the best takeoff programs out there.
Pros
Our estimating department has picked up speed thanks to Stacks takeoff assistance. We can start a highly accurate takeoff in minutes, if not seconds, by clicking a link on a plan exchange website or swiftly uploading blueprints. In addition, it has freed up crucial time for post-takeoff analysis of our proposals.
Cons
Even considering the plethora of features it offers, the price of Stack is still very high for me. The product provides good value for the money, though. However, I would like them to introduce an overall price for the entire package instead of the current tiered pricing.

“Ability to export to excel
Pros
The takeoff feature and the ability to export cost data to Excel are outstanding. I don't currently use the built-in costing tools because my needs are customized.
Cons
We've run into slowdowns when internet speeds dip which can make the process sluggish and might be an issue on our end. I've also experienced the program freezing occasionally.

“Awesome layover feature
Pros
I'm actually glad the layover feature exists because when I have different views spread across multiple sheets they all stay open and I can switch between them pretty easily without losing context.
Cons
Don't make a mistake because you can't go back and if you try, you end up having to go back and start the whole process over.
