“best for scanning and editing PDFs

Pros

I mainly use this tool to scan books in Korean and turn them into e-books. What I love about it is that it's super easy to use and it has way fewer errors compared to other programs I have tried. Even if there's graffiti or markings in the book, I can easily erase them and edit the text without any issue. It's such a useful tool for eliminating paper books that take up so much space and it helps turn them into digital versions that are way easier to store and read. Honestly it's become an essential part of my workflow for digitizing my books.

Cons

Books published in Korean are often used in other countries but they don't work well in places outside of Korea. For instance there are symbols like bumps, double labels, screens and overlapping that show up in book titles, papers and magazines. It's inconvenient because I often don't notice these things and it's hard to read sometimes.

“Perfect for converting old articles

Pros

one of the best things about this program is its ability to scan and convert image files into documents. It does a really good job of keeping the original formatting intact which is awesome. you don't have to worry about the layout getting messed up and it's perfect for making sure all the details are preserved when converting paper documents into digital ones.

Cons

its the best when it comes to recreating old magazine articles in electronic form. It gets them just like they were when they were first published which is perfect for reposting online.

Pros

the flexibility of this software is what really stands out to me. I can use it for so many different tasks and it adapts to what I need. Plus, the ergonomics of the design make it really comfortable to use for long periods of time. I can't tell you how much easier it makes my job and it's something I can rely on every day.

I've got no complaints...honestly. It's super useful and offers great quality for the price. Couldn't ask for a better deal.

“Fast & reliable PDF editing

it is one of the easiest and most interactive PDF editors I've ever used. It makes reading and editing PDFs easy and it's also great for converting files between different formats. It really helps speed up my workflow and I can't imagine not having it at this point. Whether I am editing text or just making a quick conversion, it's always up to the task.

this PDF editing tool is amazing because it gives me an all-in-one solution for pretty much anything I need to do with PDFs. Whether I want to create new PDFs, edit existing ones or convert files into PDFs.. it does it all. I can also merge multiple PDFs into one or split one big PDF into smaller documents. It's fantastic for compressing PDFs and making them more manageable too. Plus I love how I can sign PDFs digitally, no more printing, signing and scanning. It saves me so much time and money and it's perfect for both work and personal use.

Currently, I've got no dislikes about it. It's working great for me.

definitely the best for scanning books and documents and generating and editing PDF files. I've tried a few others but none of them compare to how efficient and reliable this one is. Whether I am working on a new project or converting old documents, it's always my go-to tool. It's saved me countless hours and has made my work a lot more organized.

i have not found a better program for scanning to PDF. Seriously, I can't find anything in this program that does not work well.

What I love most about this software is how quickly and easily I can convert files into different formats without having to upload them to some online platform. that's such a huge time-saver! I can also edit PDFs directly without needing to create tons of Word files, make the changes and then convert them back into PDFs. It's a much moresimple and hassle-free process.

The OCR tool does not always work smoothly with all languages. For example, it has trouble recognizing Russian (non-Latin characters). And when texts are in two or three columns, it sometimes merges them and creates jumbled text that makes no sense.

The thing that stands out the most to me is the amount of detail I can manipulate with this software. I can adjust everything exactly how I want it and it's so precise. hardest part for me was learning my way around the software. Once I got the hang of it, it was fine but it took time.

Abbyy is such a great PDF reader and editor. I am really happy with this application! It has everything I need to read and work with PDFs and the editing features are incredibly user-friendly. It's become an essential tool in my daily work.

Editing PDFs with ABBYY is brilliant even for languages that are written from right to left. It works great!

one of the things I love about this software is how quickly and specifically it allows me to transfer text from one format to another. It's so efficient and I can get my work done faster without any unnecessary steps. It's perfect for when I need to make quick format changes.

Compared to Adobe PDF, this software is more reasonably priced. It's a great compromise if you want something that performs well but does not come with the high cost. I've found it to be a solid solution that gives me everything I need without breaking the bank.

I really miss the OCN Quality for Japanese text and features like the comment function and "Proofing tools" for adding or deleting text in PDFs like what Adobe offers. Those would really make this tool better.

“easy to use but limited mac editing

The OCR feature is super easy to use and powerful. I can preview files before finalizing them which is a huge help. It makes sure everything looks right before I save or share the document and I've had no issues with it so far.

you can't edit files on a Mac with just one subscription. It's annoying since I use both Mac and Windows but I can only edit on one platform.

Pros

If you are looking for a great option to digitize historical documents especially with Fraktur OCR, this is definitely the choice for you! I've been using it for some old texts and it works like a charm making the whole process much easier than I expected.

Since I am only using this functionality..the price does not feel quite right for me.

I love how accurate this software is when it comes to recognizing characters and formatting the output. It's almost exactly like the original input file which is amazing. It saves me so much time not having to fix errors after scanning or converting.

It does not have very advanced image preprocessing like detecting and removing signatures and seals. This can sometimes make pages with a lot of them unreadable in it.

Honestly I think this is the absolute best OCR technology out there right now. It's fast, accurate and incredibly reliable. I've tried a few others but this one has definitely topped the list for me.

this is hands down the best OCR I have come across. I use that feature the most because it's just so reliable. I'd love to see some AI features added to it though. That would make it even more powerful and efficient for me.

PaperPort is still the best PDF editor, in my opinion. I really wish it had its features.

I often need to convert a lot of PDF accounting statements into tables and it helps me do this so quickly and in bulk. It's a real time-saver and I don't have to deal with the hassle of doing it all manually anymore.

It's not great at reading lines that divide the paper which can be frustrating sometimes.

It's amazing at handling multiple languages and can convert scans into readable and editable text with no problem. It's perfect for when I am dealing with documents in different languages and I don't have to worry about accuracy.

smart scanning functions could be better,I still have to manually tweak every scanned page. Plus, the navigation is not very interactive for me.

“saved so much time converting scripts

one of the things I love most about it is how easily it converted a script into a special software I use called Final Draft. It saved me so much time and effort and the process was so smooth. I didn't have to manually input anything and that's a huge bonus.

I am really impressed with the price and features. The scanning and editing are top-notch and for what you pay, it's honestly a great deal. I've used a few other options but this one stands out for me.

some features and functions were not where I expected them in the menus. I guess that's because I was using Adobe Acrobat for almost 20 years and during that time, I was using Abby Screenshot Reader for everything I needed to capture text.

“expansive features

the suite of features it offers is way more expansive than my other PDF-related products. The document management, document conversion, digital signatures and huge range of supported file types made this an easy choice for me. Plus when I started using it, I realized the UI was so interactive and smooth..it made everything so much easier.

Cons

there's not a lot I dislike about it. The only thing that was tricky was setting up the digital signature process to match my workflow. That was the only part that took a bit of digging to get right.

The accuracy, features and ease of use are definitely the top things that stand out to me. Everything works just as expected and I can easily navigate through all the features. It's definitely one of the best tools I've used for working with PDFs.

i can't select an area to apply "Levels" in the "Edit Image" feature. It would be great if that was possible.

One of the most cost-effective and easy-to-use products I've come across. It's exceptionally user-friendly and I don't have to spend hours figuring out how to use it. It just makes the whole process so much easier and for the price, you can't beat it.

I wanted to convert two Word docs to PDF and it did that but it combined them into one file which was not what I expected.

The ability to edit PDF documents without needing too much training is one of the best features. I didn't have to go through a long learning curve to get the hang of it. I could start working right away which saved me a ton of time.

Its not very flexible and that's a bummer. Something like a Find and Replace feature would make editing a lot better.

“accurate ocr but conversion to excel could improve

it turned out to be an incredibly accurate OCR. It recognizes over 190 languages which is impressive and it's a great way to work directly in PDF files. All this comes at a much lower cost than other options and the support team is really quick and helpful. It's perfect for anyone who works with PDFs regularly.

Cons

can't point to anything I dislike. I use most of the features and I am happy with them. The only issue is that the conversion from PDF to Excel is not always 100% accurate.

“Customizable but missing RTL support

thing I really appreciate is the ability to calibrate the OCR and optimize the results. You can change some of the algorithm attributes which helps get even better results. This level of customization really makes a difference in how well the software works for my specific needs.

Cons

It's missing some important features like the ability to adjust reading order settings in the OCR editor (RTL vs. LTR). That would make a big difference.

It does a better job than Adobe when it comes to OCR-ing messy archival documents which is really important for my historical research. It's not perfect though.. so don't expect flawless accuracy. But for what it does, it's still one of the better tools out there.

there's no way to correct OCR mistakes like you can in Adobe Acrobat. that's something I miss.
