“user friendly with solid programming”
Pros
Using this software is pretty easy most of the time and the programming side is simple to work with as well.
Cons
One ongoing frustration is the regular glitches. They hurt productivity and slow down how quickly we can respond to students. Updates really need to be tested better so bugs are fixed before they're released.

“disjointed interface”
Pros
The Application Review tool is probably the strongest part of it. I've even heard of schools choosing the platform largely because of that feature alone. They wanted a more standardized application review workflow and this piece of the system helped make that possible.
Cons
Has been frustrating to use because the interface feels incredibly inconsistent and disconnected. I honestly haven't come across another web app with a UI this disjointed. It feels like four different generations of design are all mixed together in one product. Some areas look like Salesforce Classic others resemble Salesforce Lightning then there's TargetX Builder which seemed like their third generation interface but now appears to have been dropped as well. At this point they seem to be building yet another UI that lives entirely on their own servers and doesn't integrate with Salesforce CRM at all. Their heavily promoted new SMS solution was also a step backward compared to the old one. It offered barely any CRM integration opened in a separate window just to bookmark and almost no information synced back and forth beyond basic contact details.

“powerful integrations”
Pros
It does a really nice job of connecting apps from other vendors so they work smoothly with its own tools. Their support team is always quick to answer questions help resolve issues and they keep putting effort into improving the platform and adding even more solutions.
Cons
A few features and settings can be tucked away and harder to find than they should be. Though Lightning Experience is starting to make the platform feel more consistent so that part is improving.

“useful resources”
Pros
A lot of the HE features were already built out which saved time and the service from the account manager has been excellent. Tech support has also been dependable and there are plenty of helpful resources available when needed.
Cons
Some managed package components are closed off and not visible which can be limiting. There have also been technical issues in the past and certain areas still don't offer the flexibility I'd want.

“powerful student communication tools”
Pros
The retention suite's communication features have really helped us simplify how we stay connected with student cohorts throughout every stage of the application and enrollment journey.
Cons
Building the interface needed to pull data from other systems takes quite a bit of time.

“flexible platform”
Pros
Platform feels very user friendly and I really appreciate how customizable it is.
Cons
Some fields and features are still difficult to report on when trying to pull all the information needed. I also haven't been able to find reporting for the new SMS system and text messages don't appear to log on the student detail screen.

“good reporting and rich data”
Pros
Interface is clean and the amount of data available is impressive. Reporting is one of the strongest parts about it with plenty of useful capabilities built in.
Cons
Because the software includes so many features it can feel a bit overwhelming when someone is just getting started.

“flexible customization that delivers”
Pros
Has been flexible enough to match the way we work which has been a big plus. We needed to create a few custom objects to fit our specific needs and that process was very easy to handle.
Cons
One thing that does frustrate me at times is the email builder. The newer version can be a bit finicky when it comes to getting the text formatting right. Something may look fine in the preview but then the actual email send ends up looking different. I'm also not a fan of the built in safeguard on email campaigns that puts a broadcast on hold if there's a significant change in the number of recipients. There have been times when I scheduled an event reminder on a Thursday (since I was going to be out of the office Friday) to go out on the morning of the Saturday event. By the time the email was supposed to go out enough additional students had registered that the system paused the broadcast. At that point I still had to log in and manually release it which really defeats the whole reason for scheduling the email ahead of time.

“responsive support”
Pros
One of the biggest strengths is the support team and the solid backend which feels strong enough to expand into other processes over time. Each customer is assigned an onboarding consultant during the early stages and that has been really helpful. The team has consistently approached challenges with an out of the box mindset. Whenever I raise an issue I get a response and sometimes it even comes from people at the highest level.
Cons
A drawback is the limited flexibility when it comes to accessing different Salesforce objects across modules or separate applications within the system.
