Runs well across devices

Pros

Using it has been a really positive experience because it runs consistently across desktop, mobile and tablet without issues. It also connects well with popular platforms like WordPress, Facebook and others which makes it very convenient to use in different setups.

Cons

The widget does not seem to support every language so it may create challenges for users who are not English speakers.

Covers everything

Pros

Running evening group chats for young people means we need reliable, flexible software and it has covered almost everything we were looking for over the past year. We're a UK charity called The Mix, supporting young people with challenges ranging from mental health and money to homelessness, jobs, breakups and drugs so the platform needs to handle busy group conversations well. Chatwee gave us key features like creating multiple rooms and customizing room colors which suited our setup really well. On top of that, there were a few extra features we needed and their team was able to build those for us. The moderation tools are also useful, users can mute each other and moderators can freeze or kick people when needed. Another big plus is how quickly bugs usually get fixed, when something comes up, it's often resolved within a few days which works very well since we run chats most evenings each week.

Cons

A recurring issue has been scheduled maintenance happening without us being notified beforehand. On those occasions, we've had to cancel our group chats because the software wasn't accessible. Within the chat itself, there's also no notification when someone enters or leaves a room and that becomes tricky when sessions are busy because it's hard to keep track of who is actually there. Another confusing part is that users can appear active in multiple rooms at the same time. If someone joins one room and then moves to another, they still show as active in the previous room which can be misleading for both moderators and other participants. It would also help a lot if there were an option to cap room sizes since our chats can get quite busy and limiting the number of people in a room would be useful.

Terrible experience

Pros

At the beginning, the simple setup was the only thing that made us pick it. Beyond that, I honestly ended up with nothing positive to say about the product. There are far better options out there and not even close.

Cons

This software was a terrible experience. It may be simple to use but it offers almost no features and barely any real functionality. To make matters worse, when I needed something additional, they expected me to pay extra just to add a feature. After I explained that the product was not a fit for my needs, they still refused to give even a prorated refund. That felt incredibly greedy. I would not recommend buying this if you care about getting value for your money.
