Pros

Bringing colleagues, customers and professional translators into the translation process is very easy. The CLI tool is especially useful for uploading and updating translations directly in our codebase and the option to create branches that match our code branches fits nicely into how we work.

Cons

As the platform has added more features over the years, the pricing has kept going up even though our setup is very basic, one private translator, every string translated into just 1-2 languages and simple upload/download through the CLI tool. At this point, we're even considering moving away from it even though we still genuinely enjoy using it.

Pros

It makes the translation workflow feel incredibly aligned and as a freelance translator, I find it very simple and pleasant to use.

Cons

Because it is designed to be so user friendly, it may miss some of the advanced capabilities available in more sophisticated CAT tools. The reporting feature also feels limited which makes pulling the statistics needed for invoicing more tough than it should be.

Pros

One thing that really works well is the convenient connection to my website through the GitHub integration. It also has been very well received by my translation team especially when they are proofreading content and making edits.

Cons

A downside is that it creates too many commits so I have to manually squash them to keep the commit history from getting cluttered. On top of that, the onboarding could be improved with better tutorials or step-by-step guides.

The IT interface is very user-friendly from my perspective.

Having the side-by-side panel along with the bulk approval button really helps when you're dealing with more than 100 pages of strings to review.

One frustrating part is that you have to remove an approved string before updating it, otherwise the system replaces the new version with the previously approved one even if the updated string was saved and approved again. Also, the bulk change feature should place those modified strings in a separate filter or section instead of leaving them mixed in with items still waiting for review or approval. Bulk-edited strings should already be treated as checked and keeping them together creates confusion especially when the reviewer leaves no comment to identify which ones were changed. On top of that, if you want to pinpoint repetitive strings, you still have to click into each one and open it on a new page. When there are more than 10 strings that need bulk changes, it quickly becomes a hassle.

Working together in it and keeping translations organized was really easy which made collaboration much easier.

I was happy with the whole experience and honestly didn't run into anything I disliked about it.

Uploading a file like JSON works really well and the interface makes it easy to translate each line one by one.

Not really a major negative point but one downside is the word limit that comes with the free account.
