“Remote access that really helps”
Pros
Remote access has been especially valuable for our organization, particularly as we support employees working remotely across our retail outlets.
Cons
The pricing for product listings could use some improvement, as better value options for customers would make the offering more appealing.

“plenty of useful features”
Pros
Working as a team has been really helpful because it includes useful features like live chat and the ability to keep tasks running in the background in real time.
Cons
There are times when it slows down but at least it's reliable and doesn't erase the work that's already been done.

Remote support and automation features have been really useful and the Active Directory-style way of organizing devices feels familiar and simple to work with.

“Logs every session”
Pros
Having a server that logs every session and lets IT manage client connections is really useful.
Cons
Updating the client agent is an issue. Whenever an update rolls out, most computers install it but for some reason we still can't connect to them until the agent is reinstalled.

“Missing cloud and offline visibility”
Pros
The remote access tools and built-in chat are useful features.
Cons
You need an on-premises AD to use the full set of Goverlan features. It really needs support for Azure AD so it can pull in users and their linked devices. There's also no cloud-hosted repository for files and scripts in Goverlan which forces reliance on an on-prem server. Another issue is the lack of visibility into computer details from non-active agents, I need the ability to capture snapshots of user device information for tracking and searching. On top of that, you can't view device information for offline agents or schedule automation tasks to run once those agents come back online.

“Quick support”
Pros
Managing the client installation across a large number of PCs has been very simple. The support team has also been quick to respond and has helped us roll out the server side of the product in phases without much trouble.
Cons
The product depends on DNS refreshes at the local PC level when a console is running. Because of that, it can be a little slow to catch up when a machine's IP address changes such as when switching from VPN to Wi-Fi or the other way around.

Pros

“consistent performance”
Pros
Whenever I need remote access this is the tool I keep coming back to. It's dependable, stays consistent and performs better than the other remote options I've used.
Cons
Well I still haven't been able to figure out how to change the default setting that disables the end user's control when I connect remotely to a device.

“So many useful features”
Pros
Back when I worked Help Desk I relied on the remote console several times a week and sometimes multiple times a day. It's an excellent tool and a huge step up from RDP because you can keep working on the remote computer while the user is watching or even actively using it. It also lets you log out and back in as an admin or another user without much hassle. Another really useful feature is being able to restart a PC unattended since the software reconnects automatically after reboot so you can sign in again right away. On top of that, the other admin tools like remote command prompt access and remote installation or configuration of PCs, were very capable. There were more features than I ever got around to exploring but everything I did use felt reliable and well thought out.
Cons
There's definitely a learning curve before you get comfortable with the software. Parts of the interface feel a little counteruser-friendly and would be worth revisiting in a major update. Nothing major but those smaller issues did make it take longer to learn than it probably should have.

“efficient remote control feature”
Pros
Remote control is still the feature I rely on most. Being able to connect to any computer on the network with a single click is a huge advantage and the speed of that connection really stands out when comparing it to other tools in the same price range or even slightly more expensive ones. On price alone, it already competes well just on the remote control side. Once you add the remote management features like printers software deployment, unattended installs, remote task manager, remote PowerShell, AD search and more, it becomes a full systems management solution that costs thousands less per agent than other options.
Cons
Honestly it's hard to come up with much to criticize. Most of the problems I've seen with it seem tied more to workstation DNS resolution not staying current on domain-joined machines than to the software itself. If a computer disconnects from wired, switches to wireless and DNS gets updated, the workstation does not always recognize that change immediately, even though the domain controllers usually do. Periodically forcing a DNS cache flush on the workstation might reduce the issue but that is really more of a workstation limitation than a Goverlan problem. Once you know it can happen occasionally, it is usually something an admin can work around without much trouble.

“Way ahead of the alternatives”
Pros
Compared with other tools we evaluated at the time this software offered a lot of capabilities they simply didn't have. The level of remote management it gives you is impressive and it goes far beyond being just a remote desktop sharing tool. New features keep getting added every year which has been a big plus. It also supports pretty much every method you'd need to connect and communicate with a client, including VNC, RDP, SSH and Goverlan connection. On top of that, you can push client settings in a way that feels very similar to group policy.
Cons
A few of the built-in features overlapped with other products we were already using for separate tasks so we ended up disabling those parts in Goverlan.

“Enjoyable experience”
Pros
Using this product has been a pleasure especially because connecting it and working with Active Directory is so simple. It already feels ahead of competing options and the near-complete Mac support gives it a real advantage.
Cons
It's roughly 90% ready for OSX at this point and the last step is getting it to match the same level of functionality it already offers on Windows. It's very close now and hopefully it will be fully there by this quarter.
