Powerful segmentation and journey insights

Pros

One thing that really works well with MoEngage is the ability to build segments and user journeys using event triggers that are directly connected to the company database. That makes it much easier to spot the most realistic targetable segments and understand their reachability across different communication channels. Another big advantage is getting live data from all communication channels in one consolidated view inside the MoEngage panel which is very helpful for tracking campaign performance and measuring how well goals are being achieved.

Cons

It does not let you set event criteria for periods longer than 180 days which becomes an issue when creating segments meant to target very old inactive users. On top of that some flows do not function properly with filters because Live-segmentation is not available.

impressive automation and live insights

Pros

being able to set up automated campaigns for users while also tracking their performance in real time is amazing. That combination makes it really useful for managing and analyzing campaigns as they run.

Cons

If there's one area where it could do better, it's personalization. The email customization options feel pretty limited and I'd like to see more flexibility there.

Powerful automation!

Pros

After trying quite a few alternatives, this one still stands out for its feature set and overall user experience. I've used the automation journey triggers and personalization capabilities a lot across different campaigns and they've played a big part in helping me hit my marketing objectives. On top of that, the web messages and notifications have been really useful for my team especially with the smart trigger settings and template choices that helped drive more sales.

Cons

The biggest downsides with MoEngage are the pricing and the loading speed. When duplicating a web message campaign or an email template, it can take a while to load which gets frustrating when you're working against a deadline.

user-friendly and highly customizable

Pros

Set up took no time and the platform feels user-friendly to use while still offering plenty of customization.

Cons

It provided all the tools we needed to build customer interactions and we really did not run into any specific downsides.

workflows that save time!

Pros

Using it, I've been able to set up workflows for push notifications and email marketing and that has really helped me save time and work more efficiently.

Cons

An issue I noticed while creating email campaigns is that the templates were not always true to the design I made. On mobile devices, they sometimes appeared different from what I originally created.

Reliable features and support

Pros

Its so easy to handle. The platform is user-friendly, the customer support has been helpful and the features work well with a high level of accuracy.

Cons

The biggest downside is the pricing since it feels expensive compared to competing tools. Integration support is also limited and we had a hard time connecting it properly because the technical assistance provided was not very strong.

Pros

The interface is simple to work with and setting up campaigns doesn't take much effort. The platform itself feels powerful and whenever help is needed, the technical support team is there and quite reliable.

Cons

The team still hasn't introduced features like homepage personalization, more variation in email and push templates and SMS personalization even though most other platforms have been offering these for quite a while. Integration with other tools could also be much better, as it doesn't work smoothly.

Slow segments and limited analytics

Pros

Having email newsletters, app and web push notifications, SMS and digital campaigns all managed in a single platform is really convenient. It feels like a big step forward for mobile engagement especially when it comes to bringing everything together in one place. The tool also lets us create our own user journeys which makes it much easier to retain users effectively.

Cons

Creating segments takes longer than it should and the delivery rate has been disappointing. The analytics section also feels limited because it doesn't provide enough depth in the data. Another downside is that control group analysis isn't available in the tool.

Engaging journeys and strong retention

Pros

It helps us keep customers engaged, understand their behavior and improve retention. By combining images, text and carousel layouts, we can build a more distinctive user journey which makes the platform more practical and simple to work with.

Cons

Its service can be noticeably slow. The analytics also seems to have database-related issues and because of that, campaigns don't always reach every user.

Reliable push delivery!

Pros

Push notification delivery rate stands out. Push notifications also work well on Xiaomi and other Chinese devices which is a big advantage. Sherpa and the Best Time to Send feature are also very useful.

Cons

At this point I haven't run into any issues. The product already includes all the features I need.

Powerful cohorts and push scheduling

Pros

Putting together cohorts and scheduling push notifications is simple even for someone new to the platform especially after setting up different audience and cohort segments. The notification delivery rate is fairly solid too, though there's still room to improve the insights it provides.

Cons

It doesn't happen often but on rare occasions the notification delivery numbers seem a bit inflated and generating reports can be slow.

my experience with MoEngage

Pros

Segmenting customers on the platform feels very simple and the push notification templates are genuinely useful. I also appreciate having the flexibility to customize my CTAs. The same goes for email marketing, MoEngage is very simple to work with there as well.

Cons

There were a few moments when the platform felt slow and we also ran into some issues with the data being captured from our app. That said those problems were resolved pretty quickly.

user-friendly ui that clicks

Pros

Getting started with this software is pretty convenient even for someone completely new to it. The interface and overall user experience are well done which makes the product appealing and comfortable for almost anyone to use.

Cons

The only real limitation I've noticed is that it tracks only a certain number of events at one time. There are moments when we have to generate a report just to confirm whether the events were tracked which can be a bit annoying. It also feels somewhat expensive compared with other products available in the market.

clean UI with useful targeting

Pros

It doesn't take much effort to get used to it and the interface is clean and simple to follow. Reaching the right audience is quite convenient and features like A/B testing are available when needed. It's also handy that campaigns can still be edited even after they've been created.

Cons

At times campaigns take longer than expected to load. Duplicating an older campaign also tends to lag quite often.

Pros

Excellent reach on xiaomi

Powerful segmentation and testing

Pros

Getting this set up with our existing SMS provider was simple and it worked really well for analytics needs like A/B testing based on custom segmentation. Being able to pass our own derived fields into the MoEngage platform gave us the flexibility we needed to test hypotheses properly.

Cons

The database structure took some time to adjust to and the naming conventions were not very readable at first.
