“Customizable according to our needs”

Pros

Being able to tailor the software to fit our needs has been a huge plus. The support team has also been very helpful with customization. Real-time updates, the reporting setup and customizable templates, including automatic email responses, all make the system work really well for us.

Cons

The interface is very simple from the end-user side but mid-level users do need some training to work with the system properly. The knowledge base also feels a little complex.

“Fast agent deployment”

Pros

Setting it up to automatically discover devices and install the agent is very convenient and starting a quick RDP session is really helpful.

Cons

The reports could include a bit more detail. For example, it would be useful if the summary report also showed the asset number.

“All in one tool”

Pros

Across our district, this software handles a lot for us including asset management, ticketing, MDM, power management, server and computer health alerts, storage monitoring software reporting and remote access for client support. We can also deploy third-party software to our computers which has been very useful. The asset management piece has made inventory tracking much better, helped us assign devices to staff and students and been especially helpful when collecting Chromebooks at the end of the school year. We also get a lot of value from the import and export features. The ticketing system has helped our team work more efficiently. Users can submit tickets either through the helpdesk portal or by clicking the desktop icon in their system tray which makes the process simple for them. Because we've customized the ticket system, we're able to gather the right information upfront so we can evaluate and fix issues faster and in some cases tickets are automatically routed to a technician. The built-in remote desktop tool is another big plus since it lets us assist users directly when an onsite visit isn't needed. The MDM has honestly been the best fit for our district. We've bought and tested a number of other products and SyAM has been the strongest option for managing our iPads, apps and Apple TVs. We recently got Google integration in the MDM as well. We're still digging into it but it has already been helpful and the early feedback from our technicians has been positive.

Cons

I really don't have any major complaints. Whenever we think of a feature that would help us, it usually ends up being addressed in a future update.

“Covers all bases”

Pros

Beyond power management, it also handles inventory, helpdesk ticketing software and patch deployment, network integration and support for Chrome and Apple devices. It even lets you manage mobile devices so it really brings a lot of essential functions together in one product.

Cons

The ticketing system can generate a lot of emails but that's manageable with email rules and alerts can also be turned off if needed.

“Comprehensive solution for asset management and ticketing”

Pros

Having everything we need for asset management and ticketing in one platform has worked out really well for us. Our district also has a few unique needs and the development team has been outstanding about delivering custom solutions quickly. One example is the insurance module for our student Chromebook program, we needed that functionality and it was added directly into the system. The customer support has been excellent from day one. On top of that, they keep rolling out useful new features we didn't even request. A good example is the full mobile device management system which my tech team now relies on heavily.

Cons

At the beginning of our rollout, the software did have some occasional bugs. That said, those situations have become very uncommon. Outside of that, I really don't have any complaints about the product.

“Simple layout”

Pros

This software covers just about everything we need it to do. It cuts down the amount of manpower required for projects and implementation which has been a big help. The layout is simple and pretty much anyone can navigate and use it without much trouble.

Cons

it can be a little buggy from time to time. That said, the support team has been very helpful whenever issues come up and usually gets them resolved quickly.

“Automates a lot of processes”

Pros

A big plus with this software is how many processes it can automate. The team is very willing to work with you to tailor what they already have in place and they also help build any add-ons you may need. Their support during setup is excellent and they stay involved through each step to make sure everything works well and you end up successful.

Cons

Honestly there is not much negative to mention. They are responsive, helpful and continue to stay in contact.
