“The most efficient and light OS
Pros
The platform offers a robust package management system and a large software repository, making it easy to install and update. Being open source, it's free to use and highly customizable.
Cons
One downside is that it may have compatibility issues with some proprietary software and hardware drivers. Also transitioning from other operating systems like Windows can involve a bit of a learning curve for those new to Linux.

“Perfect Linux distribution for all kinds of needs
Pros
I mainly use Ubuntu for programming and studying and I've found it to be a great OS, especially for those who are new to Linux. Its simple interface and solid support make it easy to use, even for non-Linux users.
Cons
While there aren't as many applications available for Windows, there are definitely valid alternatives on Ubuntu.

“Ubuntu remains one of the best Linux distributions available
Pros
After using Linux Mint, I switched to Ubuntu and I really enjoyed the features it offers. It gave me exactly what I needed. If you love Linux, this is definitely worth trying.
Cons
I haven't found anything that I dislike about Ubuntu but I'll admit it can be a little difficult to get used to. However, the time spent learning it is definitely worth it.

“Its perfect
Pros
Kali Linux is vital for network security, helping identify threats and keep networks safe. Ubuntu is the perfect base for Kali, making it a great choice for anyone in the cybersecurity industry.
Cons
In my opinion, there are no cons to using Ubuntu. It's an amazing open source OS that gives us the freedom to use tools that Windows 10/11 restricts access to.

“Ubuntu as a strong alternative to Linux
Pros
My experience with Ubuntu has been fluid and dynamic. I really appreciate the active community and the vast number of compatible applications and software made for it. Everything feels simple and if any issues arise, the community is responsive and helpful. I've been virus-free for almost a year!
Cons
While there are fewer software options compared to Windows, I've realized that the essentials are still there.

“A Windows replacement option

“The free and efficient OS choice
Pros
It's efficient, free, fast and advanced. The Terminal approach is great for intermediate and advanced users, while the UI helps novices interact more easily. It's also highly compatible with other systems like Windows, perfect for developers and servers.
Cons
It can be a bit challenging for beginner users. For example, GRUB in dual boot setups can cause issues especially if you want to remove Linux and only use the other OS. This can be especially troublesome for those unfamiliar with Command-Line Interfaces. While compatibility layers like Wine and Proton (for Steam) help, some things still don't work as expected and that could use improvement.

“Get Ubuntu for your PC
Pros
As a Linux based OS, Ubuntu is open source and easy to use. I dual booted my PC with Windows 11 and Ubuntu. Ubuntu provides better security against viruses and pirated activities than Windows.
Cons
The features on Ubuntu aren't as developed as on Windows, which makes it a bit uncomfortable for users transitioning from Windows.

“Been using Ubuntu for years and I'm very satisfied
Pros
It's stable, easy to use and can even revive old machines! It's also easy to get our friends to switch to Linux once they see how great Ubuntu is.
Cons
Sometimes the repository applications are outdated. While Snaps help a bit, they don't always solve the problem.

“Linux system that evolves consistently
Pros
I love the ease of the Ubuntu desktop environment, making it a popular alternative to Windows. Frequent system updates show the agility of the Ubuntu community, keeping the system full of collaborative and productivity applications. I've used it for Java and Python development, along with low-level C interfacing. All the tools for development are free and easy to install through the system menu. I've also implemented Web and Database server software on Ubuntu in a medium-sized enterprise and the performance was excellent.
Cons
There's still room for improvement in the Desktop environment to make it more attractive and userfriendly. For example mounting USB devices could be handled better especially in virtualized environments like VirtualBox and VMware Fusion.

“Tested, stable Linux distribution for multiple purposes
Pros
Ubuntu is one of the most successful Linux distributions for various applications. I used it as a desktop environment because of its easy to use GNOME interface. It's packed with open-source productivity tools. I've used it for penetration testing in virtualized network environments using VMware vSphere. Many of my research simulations and real-world implementations are deployed on Ubuntu. I also used Ubuntu for security programming with C/C++/Assembly Cryptographic APIs using the gcc and g++ compilers. Lastly, it's ideal for Linux BASH shell scripting to automate everyday configuration tasks.
Cons
The system updates are frequent, which can be distracting. While staying up-to-date is important, maintaining backward compatibility with older software versions can sometimes be tricky, depending on the tool or application.
